Yes, he was always following me around the club !!! but i wasnt scared becuase he was like a 20 years old guy with the body of a 10 years old boy soo if i would slapped him or kick him im sure he still been in the floor !!!

I consider your behavior to be infinitely more inappropriate than what that boy did. There were countless other ways in which you could have handled this situation that didn't involve throwing your drink. Part of growing up is learning to interact with all sorts of people in all sorts of situations.

If he was getting clingy, you could have just politely asked him to leave you alone. If he didn't get the message after that, you could have just gone to the club security or bouncer and told him this guy was bothering you.

As it is, you chose to react with an act of aggression, something that will earn you little respect from me. Standards may be dropping, but there we should still strive to uphold a bare minimum of manners and decorum.

This topic seems like it was doomed to be at war with itself from day one. On one hand, if anyone says, "yes, I am insulted," they come off as shallow and mean but if everyone says, "oh, no of course not" and agrees on the same thing, then there's no discussion...So it's an odd topic . Maybe a different title would have been more fitting. To say that you're "insulted" for someone ugly to try to get with you implies that you think you're royalty or above them or something. Maybe a title of "How do you tell someone who approaches you that you aren't interrested?" would have been better .

To azgirl. I didn't consider your post to be offensive. As for my brash style, well, I'm just not a very nice person, I'm afraid. It might explain why I'm still single.

I can't judge how things are in the US, but over here if a guy gets too clingy, you always can go to security or the bouncers with that problem and they will help you. Club owners are smart enough to know that if the girls stay away, they might as well close their club. So they have to avoid getting the reputation of being a place where creeps get a free reign, as it is an automatic kiss of death to their establishment.

I don't know if Melon is a sweet girl or not, she might very well be. I was just saying that in this specific instance, her behavior was wrong.

As for people who are genuinely offended when approached by someone who is physically unattractive, I don't understand how they get through life. Everyone of us has to work and interact with a multitude of different people every day, of varying age, body shape, weight and height and not all of them look like Adonis and Aphrodite, unfortunately. Yet we have to be able to build meaningful relationships with them regardless of that. If you are truly offended by their looks, I don't see how you'll ever achieve anything of value in your life, since very little "personal" success is owed solely to yourself and your own efforts.

Your point is valid, but I don't think it applies to my post. If my post had in any way been directed at Watermelon, I would have quoted her post directly, be it for criticism, advice, or whatever. My intent was to question SS's agreement with her behavior, and since he was being sarcastic, my post succeeded in its only goal.

As for giving advice... I have no doubt Watermelon doesn't want advice from me. And even if I gave it anyway, it would be wasted because Watermelon's story -- if it's true, which I doubt -- was most likely given for attention and approval from other members, which earns my scorn, not my respect, and you have to have my respect on at least some level for me to volunteer advice.

As for someone having the ambition it takes to admit in a public domain that they are insulted simply because they think someone to be ugly in my opinion takes a really impressive person.

And as to physical unattractive, I guess you would have to not be the best looking to understand the criticism that comes with it.
