Well i finally have the first 70 pages down and so far I'm enjoying the read. I had a good look over the topic of 'External Sensory Stimuli' and how certain external audible noises can weave themselves into a dream. For instance the whole alarm clock experiences that Freud recalled. How fascinating is it that in just a few tenths of a second that outside audible noise can fit itself into the dream from the time the noise is produces by the device in question to the time the ears pick it up and the body awakes. Seems as if we have been dreaming of that whole scenario in our mind for hours but really it was a mere few seconds if that
Oh, and now i must tickle Jen's chin, nose, and ears to see what type of dreams those stimuli bring about...oh the mischief to come

I've finally come back!!!I don't have anything interesting to say unfortunately, but just wanted to stop by
hey there
welcome back

tell me anything

So I have a random question for you... since Nina Agdal and Barbara Palvin seem very popular on here.. just curious who do you prefer? ![]()

Thank you for such a thorough post... I value it. I may not agree with everything in it, and I do not pretend to understand all of it.But I can imagine how different must be such a life. How different views such a man/woman must have... and how weird must a common life sound to him/her. This is something absolutely different - but take humanitary workers that go to Africa. They spend there months, sometimes years, then they come back and suddenly.... can´t fit into the picture. Everything is so different, everything is so weird and out of place... they´ve seen things and survived acts that we do not normally encounter - they see things differently. They mostly cannot live "normal" life anymore and go back to the places they came from... even when these places are seen as "hell" for us others.
I've conversed with 40+ military men- mostly junior/middle ranked officers and non-coms. I understand them better than most people do due to the fact that I had considered joining the officer class (USMA @ West Point) when I was in secondary. My qualifications, and I believe my bearing, were all appropriate at the time.

Well, wars are all different and the experiences they offer vary. Iraq/Afganistan has been very helpful from the perspective of military research and organizational design- the American army went into Iraq with cold war type of structure and has left it re-designed for the next generation of battle & social engineering. Very few American and coalition troops have died due to the fact that this conflict was so low-intensity. So their experience has been very different from Vietnam and Korea front line soldiers that fought a far more intense war with different objectives.
Anyway, the average person knows almost nothing about foreign policy, the intelligence community, warfare, history, economics, the materials industry, the military industrial complex, or military history. All of this relates directly towards international conflict. Their main focus is in the realm of morality and humanism, and it's just a joke. That's the reason why I am silent on FP matters. I don't know enough about it- I have neither relevant experience or the type of specialized advanced education required. But I do have grasp of what I know and I don't know. And I don't like 'shooting from the hip' :-D
The great failure of press reporting on this issue is that it insufficiently focused on the mindsets and decisions of the military General-class and industrial interests. So much of it de-evolved into blatantly obvious propaganda (from different interest groups), total non-issues or political rhetoric.
American journalists that report on these conflicts are mostly graduates of my alma mater, NYU, Colombia University's school of Journalism, Harvard, Yale, Princeton, etc. It's the same in UK.- Oxford, Cambridge, etc. A blatant example of this class of mainstream journalist would be Thomas Friedman, New York Times 'Neo-liberal globalization' columnist and author of 'the world is flat'. The quality of his articles and books are poor and unacademic, yet his opinions about Globalization have enormous populist influence. So name-brand Journalists bring to the table their own biases- plain vanilla upper class/upper middle class backgrounds, the luxury of liberal pretensions and mixing with the powerful.... particularly Democratic party interests & machinations. They have character defects: parochial mentalities, lack of any education, technical knowledge, or real world experience other than literature writing. They are unqualified to pass judgement, or write in-depth analysis.
Yet they shape the views of most people.
The 'hollywood' depiction of conflict is also particularly powerful, and just as unacademic. They tend to depict war from the perspective of a depressed, conscripted enlisted man and anti-war advocate combined with elements of pure unhistorical fiction combined with action. The other side brings up jingolistic BS. And the literary depiction is just as poor- most people get their war education from 'All Quiet on the Western Front'.
There is, however, the other side- which is, in my experience, more prevalent in the all-volunteer combat elements of the United States Armed Forces. Ernst Jünger's (German Stormtrooper, Blue Max) timeless quote from Storm of Steel 1920 explains it best:
"No man

HAPPY MONDAY JENKS, so how was your weekend???![]()
Hey hun
weekend was fine, very funny but also exhausting... however I´m longing for a longer walk since it´s snowing there, lol. How about you?

yeah, I found that one especially interesting - how our mind protects itself from being awaken by outside stimuli, isn´t it fascinating? I think you have read the part with child dreams - it´s interesting how our dreams become more and more complicated with age. From pure wish fulfilments to censoring... damn, I haven´t read that book for about week
no time now... my spanish exam is in one week and half ![]()

Hm... dunno really, hard one. But I guess Nina, sometimes, and sometimes Barbara, lol. Can´t really tell, they´re both so gorgeous! Both in different ways... how about you?

There is, however, the other side- which is, in my experience, more prevalent in the all-volunteer combat elements of the United States Armed Forces. Ernst Jünger's (German Stormtrooper, Blue Max) timeless quote from Storm of Steel 1920 explains it best:
"No man€™s land was packed tight with attackers, advancing singly, in little groups, or great masses towards the curtain of fire. They didn€™t run or even take cover if the vast plume of an explosion rose between them. Ponderous, but unstoppable, they advanced on the enemy lines. It was as though nothing could hurt them any more.
In the midst of these masses that had risen up, one was still alone; the units were all mixed up. I had lost my men from sight; they had disappeared like a wave in the crashing surf. All I had with me were my Vinke and a one-year volunteer by the name of Haake. In my right hand, I gripped my pistol, in my left, a bamboo riding-crop. Even though I was feeling hot, I was still wearing my long coat, and, as per regulations, gloves. As we advanced, we were in the grip of a berserk rage. The overwhelming desire to kill lent wings to my stride. Rage squeezed bitter tears from my eyes.
The immense desire to destroy that overhung the battlefield precipitated a red mist in our brains. We called out sobbing and stammering fragments of sentences to one another, and an impartial observer might have concluded that we were all ecstatically happy."
Modern combat soldiers volunteer to partake in some of the dangerous jobs possible. They have chosen to complete their education for death. A lot of men get used to it- it's their life's calling for them, and they are prepared to die doing it.
I quite never cease to be amazed by people and their view / perception of many things... warriors, soldiers, voluntaries, general people. They all perceive things differently, just like you, and me. War has a thousand meanings, and a thousand perceptions, and a thousand opinions. Who can say what´s wrong and what´s right?
It´s just makind me sad or angry... but with hearing different opinions and different meanings I´m just soo perplexed of what to think of it in general. I don´t think I want to discuss this kind of thing anymore ![]()
as to the general media perception - I no longer believe anything media says. They wrote shit about my family and I have no reason to trust them anymore. Not only Slovak media - but worldwide media as well. When I see all these bullshits about general things - how could I simply believe them in all the other things? They all write what do they believe in. You have to have a really wide perception of media to consider what is good or wrong for you... and to the whole world? Damn it.
That´s why I always talk about what I see and hear and perceive. About my own experience. That´s what I meant when I told you about statistics - I always write about life.... never about what is "told" or "written".

Do you have some links that give steps about drawing cartoon characters too
? I'll look in the mean time, but that's just in case you already have some

its about a GEEK, that gets a super computer downloaded into his brain, lolllllll, all sorts of goverement issue things, and well, long story short in the end he becomes a spy, lolllllllll, silly i know, but actually a cool show, here's a pic
, as for sweet Lu and the Fam, it was in Dec that we all met, it was wicked fun hanging out together as two familys, maybe someday you can go to disney, if you already havent lollllllllllllllllllllllll

^Yeah, I read bad press about her face on here a lot. I'm ambivalent really - but if it loomed at me under the covers (as in that third picture) like it's the fucking Sixth Sense and was about about to vomit, I'd be pretty freaked out and liable to have nightmares forever after...Many people don´t like her face. Though I love it, she seems more and more beautiful with each shoot![]()

Either would be good
. I found some links but you can still post what you have in case you have something I don't.

Well, I'm slowly working my way up to that segment of the book, haven't read much at all the last 2 days but doing a bit of good reading tonight...I hope.
LOL and i actually have a feather now....time to start my own tests ![]()

And no, I´ve never been to Disney - I simply can´t, my heart won´t survive it
I´d go crazy, trust me... it´s the same as with the dolphin dream - once someone comes to me and says, "hey jane, next week you´re going to swim with dolphins" I´ll collapse and die.
