^Don't forget you're talking to an Argentino here, if women's clothes fall off when opening soft-drink beverage cans then what are we to do? That is if they are wearing many to begin with. I've noted that what constitutes 'scandalous' or 'obscene' outfits on British and US television is considered pretty conservative by comparison in S.America...

But you are effected by it, Baron? It has put you off from BZ. I know you put considerable thought in bringing in the Fun but it looks like most of the user base isn't into these things. You are one user making an effort; you would need several to establish a network here. So I believe if you will have a more balanced enjoyment of the forum if you just modify your approach to it. I have largely ignored annoying users and most potential arguments and debates on this forum for the past 2 1/2 years. I don't find it worth paying attention to. For me, there's no payoff except wasting my time.
You know I love you man, but the strong community atmosphere and one-stop shop you want on BZ will not materialize unless there are changes in the fundamentals: Maddog's attitude and initiative for his forum. A change in the attitudes, activities, and composition of entrenched staff of this forum is also needed. Both are unlikely to happen, as I haven't seen a single new poster over the past 2 years that has both the talent and initiative to help grow the community side by joining staff. BZ would need several interested and motivated individuals, not just 1 or zero. And the board and owner are satisfied with the current state of the forum as they are not interested in a strong community side.
So until then, I believe that the community side of BZ will remain a small sideshow as most of the forum is really just about a whole lot of images and one line text spamming with mobiles. It's too bad, really, as this is the only internet forum that I have posted extensively and have made friends in.
Actually, the 'rudeness, shallowness, and lack of consideration' is something I can work with - I have no worries in calling people up and pointing that sort of thing out! I've never shied from an argument on here, and those situations can be like catnip to me. Plus, I like the righteous indignation I can feel off the back of certain posters, I could never bear to use the "ignore" function as I'd feel I was missing out on something.
No, rather it's the banal and inane that has been putting me off. There are, as I'm sure you're aware, a glut of trite commentators here spouting the vanilla and patting each other on the back for it. :yuckky: It's that mundanity that kills...

I collected vinyl for many years, and most of the music I got into in my teens was from the late 60s/early 70s. I did, eventually, invest in a CD player and that format and that's what I now tend to buy but I admit I've bought the odd song on MP3 (usually a long forgotten nugget from my youth). I still like the 'ceremony' of putting on an album though, and the scattering of sleeves across the floor with wine bottles and ashtray... *SIGH*
You can kind of do that with CDs, it's impossible with just audio files.
That Cheatahs description was pretty apt! (Y) By the way, I went to see Bombay Bicycle Club last week - it wasn't really for me to be honest. What say you?
Same here really, I tend to do a random medley of all three. I'm still a believer in the album as an art form and grew up mostly listening to CDs, although I've gotten into using things like Spotify, last.fm and iTunes at various points along the way. I've a modest vinyl collection too, but recently found myself with nothing to play it on. ![]()
Truth be told, my enjoyment of Bombay Bicycle Club tailed off quite quickly after the debut, and with every album they put out I find myself less and less interested. The most recent stuff just isn't my cup of tea at all. ![]()
Anything else going down (no SAFC jokes, mind!) well at the moment?

“It's enough for me to be sure that you and I exist at this moment.”
“What does he say?' he asked.
'He’s very sad,’ Úrsula answered, ‘because he thinks that you’re going to die.'
'Tell him,' the colonel said, smiling, 'that a person doesn’t die when he should but when he can.”
Rest in peace, Mr Marquez...

Miss you Baron ![]()

Well, hello again everyone. How utterly charmed I am for the warm reception. I was back very briefly (to answer some mail) in April, and I saw then that Dave 'LUVs Lima' again now - but Joe is just an average member now, donbot became a mod then promptly disappeared (how often does that seem to happen?!), MissLimaVzla has become Clauds
and there are a bunch of members with their own threads who I don't even know. Nice to see that there are plenty of flatscans still pissing Pretty off though and all the VSFS talk was as predictable as ever (plus ça change, plus c'est mȇme chose - eh Mam'selle 'kiki?)...
As for me, I've been largely in Japan these last 18 months. I'm married now, to the latest Baroness, and largely (and I must say mostly blissfully) unaware of the machinations of the Western fashion scene now. Alls I can tell you locally is that Miranda is massive in Japan, the big lingerie-flogging brand is inexplicably called Peach John
and this kind of thing is what I find in magazines:
I don't know about you, but personally I love the juxtaposition between bikini-clad models and a massive dead bear.
So, what have I missed and what do I need to look out for here at BZ towers now? I'm pleased to see the 'baronfaint' emoticon is in such high demand, but 'baronlamesign' has just become 'lamesign' - what gives?
And now my oft-used 'floggingadeadhorse' one has joined the lexicon just this last week - ah, I'm STILL relevant and cutting edge!
Anyway, a pleasure to make all of your acquaintance once more. I'm sending lots of 80s style patronising cartoon moralistic good-wishes to you all:

Nice to see you stopping by old goat and congratulations on the good news! I guess you are "Baron-san" now..It's good to move on to more rewarding pastures.
Besides what you've stated, Jennka has moved to different pastures as well- the rest (eg. Donny, Layla90) left with nary of a word. I'm all that's left of the old BZ social threads crew. Slow and steady- but faded a bit for the interest, nevertheless. Maybe some day I'll be gone too.

Congratulations on the marriage
! I am indeed an average member and most of my posts are no longer than a couple lines to boot. I must make an exception as it is an honor to be mentioned in such an epic post from the only member to speak both the Merican and Mexican languages better an Ize
.
The baronfaint was also changed into 'faint' most likely due to the influence of that nefarious ByronofFratHouse but Michael* and I promptly righted that wrong. We'll see to the 'lame' sign too. I wish you the best in all of your endeavors mate

^It's Baron-dono (which roughly translates as 'Lord') if you please. Frankly it's the only Japanese honorific suffix that passes muster with me!
