The rules definitely mandate that all posts be in English because its the only language shared between the staff (except Spanish?) well, its not a guarantee like English. But I don't know about the poem thing :| .

I have combed through the Rules and Regulations document, but I have not seen a rule that clearly states that all posts should be in English. Am I looking in the wrong place?

I agree with this rule, I would just like to provide a link to the rule for the member who is not in compliance. Help, please. Thanks!

I could have sworn it was there, but its like its gone  . I even put English and language in the rule sub-forum search engine and it didn't come up  ...

Also, as to the subject of Baron's VS model thread, I've been watching it to see the reactions of the most devoted fans and it seems to be getting rave reviews by even them. I guess we should keep an eye on it .

I kind of thought at first it might be a really bad idea but now im kinda ok with it. It actually is pretty funny. People will get offended at first i thought i would be but now im not as annoyed at it as i first was.

So since Barons VS thread is ok. Mind if I post something  I think it'd be a good idea since mine has no models in it. It makes fun of the 2004 VSFS occurence. Thus no harm

NEED HELP

So i got a report from the Laetitia Casta thread about a lot of off topic. And it was off topic and jsut random stuff that hardly had the slightest reference. And now since i cleaned a few of the needless posts two of the members are pissed saying that they always are like this in that thread and i should look before i leap and appreciate the thread's style.

WTF should i do. It was off topic. They were talking in such crazy terms it made no sense unless it was one of the three. Even if the thread is like that normally ... I mean ... I've been to tons of threads here and I've never seen such randomness. It makes one think "oh news" but then they see its just nonsense as the new post. Should posts be about discussing things pertinent to the model so that other fans who don't post can get their news ... not just overread random blabber between members talking in code

OPINIONS WANTED

- i want your imput before i respond to the pm

*finds posts* Wow :| .

Ummm....that's a tough one for me. Probably because I've never really been as big on the mandate to stay on topic as most members (though I learned to stay on topic in model/celeb threads based on the knowledge that most members are). To some members even this is off topic...

Member 1: Is that her sister?

Member 2: Nope, her cousin.

Member 1: Is she a model too?

Member 1: Yep, her name is so and so, she has a thread here.

Member 3: Okay people! Back to the topic!

This however, is WAY off topic, but that apparently is how they've been doing things over the last hundreds of pages. I don't know....There is of course a "Chat Thread" and a "Man That Was Random" thread in the General PIP General Talk forum, you could maybe tell them about that. But for the most part, I don't think being off topic is something we need to intervene in unless there's specific offenses involved or its a page or two or more and there are multiple complaints and in that case maybe just a statement in red and link to those two threads mentioned above. Hope that helps some .

So what should i tell them.

How about:

I stand by my decision to clean the thread. Every other model thread I've been in hasn't been this off topic this much. The purpose of the model thread is to further knowledge and appreciation of the model between fans (those who do and don't post). It appears that this thread is full of these conversations, but that deosn't necessarily make it right. Private lingo and such is not topic. There are various other threads for stuff like this like "Chat Thread" and "Man That Was Random" in the General Talk thread.

Please try to keep things on topic a bit more.

PS: Contrary to his pm (Rob S) ... that thread has had other reports ... mainly flaming.

Flaming and baiting are always to be penalized .

However...off topic conversations is kindof a complicated line I think. Technically it isn't against the rules to be off topic, but it is proper ediquite (excuse spelling) to observe the fact that some that dip in and out want substance. But on the flip side, I don't know whether you owe the whole thread an explaination, because of the fact that the whole issue of being off topic is somewhat undefined and abstract it can become complicated. Example: Member - I don't see that in the rules ect. And then having to clarity this and define that....I say just send a pm to those involved and next time an issue comes up, just give a general reminder of those two threads .

NOT sure about this thread. There is something inappropriate about it, but can't decide. Your opinions appreciated.

hmmm. tough. she seems to be asking for help. Wether someone will go through all that work or not IDK. i agree ... it's wierd. But don't know if theres any infraction.-or at least which it would be considered

BTW ... aftermath. I have Nimzo and frenchkiki monitoring laetitia's thread for me. apparently it was sololosthero intent on getting mods involved. He seems to be a trouble maker in other threads as well. I'm gonna keep an eye on this.

I stickied the R.I.P. Alexander McQueen thread. I hope that is alright with everyone. Obviously it's not meant to be up there forever, but Frederick requested as much and I thought it was appropriate, since many people will be looking for a topic to express their condolences.

Fender complained about this post:

http://www.bellazon.com/main/index.php?s=&...t&p=2317554

He took offense to Frenchkiki's appraisal of Sarkozy. I'm not sure if it really warrants a warning or even an edit. She isn't really trolling per se (she admits she's a fan of Carla, or at least used to be). Point is, you can be a Bruni fan and still dislike Sarkozy...

What do you think we should do with her post?

After a member PM'd a siggie violation, I removed Siemgi's over sized signature and posted a citation of the Bellazon rule in its place.....only to find my citation in the "Thread Tomb" and another over sized signature in its place. Of course I removed it and cited the BZ rule again.

HOW IS IT POSSIBLE THAT A NON-MODERATOR CAN DELETE POSTS AND PLACE THEM IN THE THREAD TOMB?
