BZ rules state that an avatar must not be larger than 150X150 pixels. There are MANY avatars in violation of this rule. Since the system automatically re-sizes
over-sized avatars so that they are the regulation size, should we bother enforcing this rule? Or is it another one that we magnanimously ignore? ![]()
I guess since BZ automatically resizes the avatars, it's okay if they have them. I let it go. The only thing is a lot of the animated GIFS are so big it may make some peoples' computers run slower (I've been guilty of having a ridiculously big GIF), but we don't have a rule about that, I believe.

Before the spammers took over, I was working on the actress/singer hotlinking plague. I know you guys have done a lot on the male model side, how's that end coming along
?
I haven't edited much hotlinking in the male model thread lately (just some old posts), but I am finding it here and there around the forum. I noticed that little_miss_sunshine hotlinks quite a bit and if I catch it one more time, I am going to have to warn her.
I've edited enough posts where it should be noticable and I always provide a link to read the rules.
I have also noticed a lot of hotlinking in the Male Athletes thread and fashion_icon still hotlinks after I warned them and sent them a PM about hotlinking.
That's all I can think of at the top of my head at the moment.

I still have never really agreed with that rule
if you dont want to be hotlinked there is plenty of ways to prevent it :whistles: It just adds unnecessary works for you guys. But thats just my opinion...

Well...you're the boss
. Of course, as you can see, I struggle with the sig text rule myself
. On some pages its 4 and others its 8, let me know from your perspectives.

RE: NON-ENGLISH POSTS
I know that there is an unwritten policy that members should post in English, so that their posts can be better monitored by the BZ staff and out of common courtesy to BZ members. This policy, however, is problematic, because it IS unwritten and not stated directly anywhere in the "Posting Rules and Guidelines" document.
Consequently, I have enforced this unwritten rule only on a case-by-case basis when there have been occasional complaints from members about being unable to read and understand the posts, or that the posts are offensive, vulgar, inappropriate, etc. Even then, the rule is problematic, because the rule is unwritten, and some BZ members have argued, and rightly so, that non-English posts are NOT against BZ rules if they are not bashing or offensive.
Furthermore, most of the complaints I have received involve scans of headlines and other content from the covers, and articles of non-English publications; as opposed to posts written in the forums by BZ members. So, should those scanned images of non-English contents be included in this policy as well?
Therefore, I am requesting that our Administrators make decisions about:
1. non-English posts written by members
2. scans of content from non-English publications
3. including the rule/guideline in the official BZ document.
Your guidance will certainly be welcomed!
Thank you.

1) I agree we should have a rule that all post should be made in English. But it can still be on a case to case basis, if its one line that you have reason to belive is not offensive (first line of introduction post for example) I think that should be ok unless someone says its inappropriate. If its a full post then it should be deleted.
2) Scans should be allowed. This provides the opportunity for some member to translate it for the rest of us in say an interview document.
3) I am terrible at writing formal guidelines, if someone wants to write it ill gladly add it to the document.

This is a post I posted in one of modelknowledge' model managment threads:
Is portfoliopad.com an image hosting site? if not, you need to go through all your posts and upload them onto an image host b/c you are not allow to hotlink on BZ. Thanks!its not hotlinking. portliopad is an industry hosting site and they never disappear. half these models don't model anymore.
almost every model who is signed to an agency who uses it has these links in there thread. how can you be an admin and not recognize that this is being done on a daily basis in this forum????
I am not sure is portliopad considered a image host. I am hoping the staff can provide their thoughts on this
On another note I also didn't appreciate her attitude.

I can't find any place to upload on their site, so isn't what she's doing considered hotlinking?
As for her attitude... don't even get me started! I'm so sick of her being rude to EVERYONE. ![]()

^ I am curious is it one of those sites where members can pay for image storage? ![]()
Not sure is this the right time to mention this, but the following members share the IP Address 68.38.108.74:
modelknowledge (Reg: October 10, 2010. Email: vivaglam327@gmail.com)
makeupfiend (Reg: Dec 18, 2011. Email: polo1427@yahoo.com)
MK also shares the IP Address 74.82.64.20 with Sweet Lu. It is via Blackberry so I think it is mobile web and doesn't count.
Since MK and I just had a slight disagreement, could another staff member please contact her and inquire about the multiple accounts situation?

I've been looking around the place and it doesn't look like you can pay either. ![]()
I'll contact her for ya PC. Also I'm going to look into the likelihood that the two of them "accidentally" share the same ip.
Edit: Talked to a tech specialist friend of mine and he said they'd have to be in the same area to get the same ip, or there is absolutely no way they could be sharing the same IP. In his words "IP's just don't haphazardly show upon across the country even with Blackberry's new technology input"
LU looks to be in Massachusetts
MK New York/New Jersey area
Interesting...
I'm standing by this, something isn't right with the Lu/LMS thing, and now MK is sharing ip's with Lu? Not sure how much longer you guys are going to stand it, but I'd like to kick ban them all and call it a day... ![]()

I don't see any possible way modleknowledge is the same person as either of them. She's definitely rude, but still far and away smarter than both of them
. I'm not going to take up for those other two anymore. I worked long and hard for them, but when she said she didn't get banned because she was popular rather than my help combined with the fact that she only contacts me now to ask for things like getting him a thread, I decided not to waste time on it anymore. The contacting is only in principle of course, as I actually don't think she's one fo the best gif makers here and I also don't need to be reminded what day of the week it is
. I'd be willing to vouche for modelknowledge being able to stay although I will have to talk to her about being rude to people here.

With the MK and Lu thing since the IP Address was provided by Blackberry, I wouldn't count that as infraction b/c it

^ Thoughts on the above post? ![]()
Anyways, fashiondream has brought to my attention Leo's thread is starting to go WAAAAY off-topic and something needs to be done.
I agree with her that something needs to be done about the Leo thread and some of the other threads here in which members are starting to have [extensive] off-topic discussions and random "passionate" ramblings that overwhelms the thread (such as Candice's thread). I am not saying discussions are not welcome, but when it comes to the point when more than 1.5 pages of a thread is ALL discussions it is gets pretty ridiculous.
I was thinking about maybe starting thread(s) in the General Babe/Guys Discussion forums where members can have their off-topic, extensive and irrelevant discussions. However I am not sure how to exactly go about it b/c I don't want there to be an overload of threads with random ramblings.
What do the rest of you think? Suggestions and ideas are very much welcome! ![]()

Going to be honest hun, the thread might work for a week, then I can honestly see people slowly drifting back to the models threads to bitch.
