I didn't see what it was that was said, but I do know the "freedom of speech" angle is irrelevant IMO. Because under that logic calling someone a b**** or whore is justified under freedom of speech and that obviously is bashing under our rules. But I have got a lot of messages from members about the rule and, to be honest, it seems at times to me that the subject of weight is about as closely tied to fashion as the subject of height is to the NBA. It has always been a rule on tfs, but is probably much easier to enforce there because most of the members share simular sentiments about weight anyway (being a mostly high fashion forum whereas Bellazon is more commercial oriented but still more of a mix between the two than tfs).
But if there were a boundary line, I would say criticizing someone's weight in their own thread is undeniably out (N) . But the problem is that weight is such a huge issue in the fashion world a perfectly well meaning person could say they want someone they like to lose weight so they don't lose work or someone who they think is too skinny to gain weight for their health. So as to the question of what the borderline or boundary line is, I really can't say
.
It says in the Bellazon Rules, Guidelines, and FAQ: "Giving "constructive criticism" of a model such as, specifying that you do not find them attractive because of the length of their nose, or the size of their hips is deemed acceptable but we ask that you please try and refrain from that as well as it still upsets some members."
It would help to know more specifics about the rule. I PM'd ienergy about their post that I edited in Bar's thread and they replied back by saying "Sorry I do not give a shit about you" and went on about their rights and what not. I say we stick to the rules, but we probably need a better way of telling the people that are concerned about their rights that they still need to follow what we have in place for this forum.

Those guidelines should help some, only since they were writen before the weight rule was put in place its still kinda confusing
. It seems that since no two staff members have the same understanding, its a given the members will be confused. When I last talked to Pink about it she said you could talk about weight if it wasn't baiting I think, so apparently the line is very thin. But yeah, we definitely have to enforce the rules, but like you said we have to have a better way of explaining and make sure all of us have the same interpretation. Also, I gave that guy that cursed you out a warning and suspension
.
Thanks. I was waiting for their next PM after I explained the rules to them, but they had it coming. ![]()
Should one of us edit out all the mayhem that erupted in Bar's thread? Because I just looked at it again and :|

What was it exactly that Prettyphile said? Did she call Bar "fat" or something?
Anyway, it seems to me that this "weight rule" is used as a cheap excuse for shutting members' mouths. I must say I can't approve of that at all.
Must all forms of criticism be automatically forbidden? What's wrong with members calling celebrities "fat" or "thick"? Jesus, come on... I hope the Bellazon staff is not heading into Nazi-like direction.
I think that phenobarbie is right: http://www.bellazon.com/main/index.php?s=&...t&p=2212546
For God's sake, it's a message board... People can express their thoughts here, and that includes criticism. We, as mods and admins, can try to tell members to refrain from further hostile comments. BUT, removing their posts altogether is not the right way to go, I think.
But I'm still confused, I don't know exactly what Prettyphile said. I'm so curious. Was it really that awful?
idk what pretty said... though i found a case i HAD to delete
Siniko posted on bar's thread that all women who post on this this forum are fat. i deleted that immediately cause THAT would certainly lead to something. ugh

Oh, come on
That was nothing, just a cheap shot. It would certainly lead to nothing - as long as people stop taking things too seriously and realize he was just trying to get attention in a childish manner. You could have left that post as it was, really.
Usually yah, but i kinda feel that's a hot zone thread right now. (and i got 2 or 3 reports on the post - so people were reporting, figured before someone continued)
See ... this is why I'm calling Bar's thread a hot one now (and not in the good way). There was a new page of posts that were all good and someone comes along and brings up all those old remarks. AGAIN. Though this time someway new. And as far as me deleting siniko's ... here's prime example. I just got a report on Joe's post saying he hates this thread. That was obviously meant to how that this thread always has problems and is becoming a pain in the neck - but some are not getting it. I was asked "why must moderators come in and post things like this to make it worse" .... soooooo frustrating. And Joe ... i agree ![]()
And I'm gonna pose a question ... is there any chance that phenobarbie, prettyphile, and/or sweetandlow are the same person. pheno and pretty are obvious why i ask (they always go together , etc etc) and sweetandlow because she came along and made sort f the same insinuations but more importantly seems to be purposefully goading people to report posts to mods.

I personally think the problem in this situation is that the fans overall in the Bar thread are so sensitive/obsessive that they have a tendancy to take advantage of the staff to a degree
.
But the one that said that was referring to me saying "I hate this thread
" because in that moment I was so frustrated because they were posting and reporting like every two seconds and it was overwhelming me
. But she and I talked it out and she even added me to her friends list afterward
.
And Qball, speaking of free speech, since you gave Siniko his 10% warning I had been meaning to say ironically I didn't particularly get the warnings you gave him and Penny that time
.

Oh yeah, it was at the time when I suddenly became oversensitive about foul language and flaming, so I guess I just gave them warnings for using the F word
We're all humans, you see ![]()
There's nothing wrong about the moderating team trying to cool off 'risky' discussions. I'm just afraid it might be heading to a wrong direction up to a point where we'll be deleting posts which said: "celeb X is fat" or "celeb Y is ugly". This is not the way to go about the problem.

I can definitely understand this fear because to me a forum is about discussion at the end of the day, I'm not sure what the solution is, but it is worth discussiong
. Some things actually do work themselves out whereas other things just go on and on if not stopped and are just a pure waste of space. Like, though I don't agree (and think its stupid actually), I wouldn't say its a crime for those members that called Beyonce and Scarlett fat, but I for the life of me don't see the point of going to someone's thread just to say that
.

Maybe it's pointless, but you can always go to a thread and post things like that. Like, I can say that "Megan Fox is skinny" in her thread and hope nobody will get pissed off about it - just like I'm not pissed off when somebody calls my beloved Scarlett "fat" or "ugly". Sure, I'm thinking "GTFO", yet I refrain from posting it
So I think that ignoring rude comments is the best policy on message boards. Just leave it, don't reply. Or, reply in a surprisingly diplomatic or polite way ![]()
Sometimes we don't think before we say something. BUT we can definitely think before we WRITE something.

Well, yeah
. On a different note, has anyone else noticed that posting pics from facebook has become the most reported offense now :| ? It seems a lot of other things go unreported but members seem to be big on this for some reason
.
Well TBH ... I was friends with a model (who will remain nameless). on FB, and she made a note that anyone taking her person pics will make her delete her account ... and guess what. She did.
It kinda kills privacy and i wish it didn't happen at all. Then that kills it for a lot of people.

I moved Jada's poll to General Talk since it's a better place for it than the Babe Polls forum.
And how come there are closed threads in the Girls of Bellazon forum? Were they all closed on purpose or is it just some kind of a data bug?

Some people requested their thread be closed like OS if i am not mistaken.

Where are Jimmy Changa and Capt Snow?
And why was the Tera Patrick thread deleted? No porn was posted in it.

For the first one, never knew anything about either, so I'm no help there I guess and to the second one I dind't know she ever had a thread but I would guess since she's primarily known for porn I guess
?
Members are complaining about the PIP threads getting out of hand and asked if there could be a separate section in General Talk for PIP threads...

Good idea. There's too much post-count-boosting shit out there.
