I'm getting ready to make the VSFS 2018 thread. Do we want to restrict visibility on the thread unless you have a certain number of views? Atm there are so few people who have access to HQ pictures that I'm scared the minute we begin posting stuff it's just going to get taken and spread all over the internet without any credit to us. 

I think we need to restrict the thread already like last year, we already have the Kelly Merritt ID some members here did all over instagram, which is completely fine but with getty/wire being so obsessive about their pictures now, if they spread all over we may get in trouble and get the whole We're gonna sue you drama again.

Apologies for not being around much as of late, my spare time took a bit of a hit earlier this year when I got a new job. I'll still chip in here as much as I possibly can, although my visits probably won't be on as specific a schedule as before.

Anyway, lovely to see everyone and congratulations (and a little sympathy) to our new staff members.

As Pretty has already learned I find dealing with stuff that can be considered "monotonous" and mind numbing oddly relaxing. It's like dealing with children without sound!

And Congrats on the new job!

What were the criteria for the section last year? Only 100 post or more could post and no Guest view?

I believe it was 250 post count and no guest view.

I was thinking is there something more we could do to decrease the chances of outsiders stealing our HQ & UHQ photos? Perhaps it is inevitable but thought I would ask in case someone had a suggestion.

There are a couple of ways of doing it;
 

1. Watermark the hell out of the pictures, however unless I can find a program that will auto watermark the pictures for me, it'll take forever.
2. Password protect the Runway thread and give the password out to trusted BZ members, but then there is still a risk of the pictures getting out, and who do we trust?
3. Make the entire thread not viewable unless you have like 1000+ posts, but then people will rage.

1. Watermarking did cross my mind but like you said it would take a lot time and effort. Not sure it is worth.

2. Very tough indeed but that doesn't mean we can't decrease the chances or make it more challenging for lurkers and Social Media Thieves.

3. I am ok with a high post count in order to view but like you said it would cause a lot of outrage and most likely increase spamming.

Another option is making two separate threads: one with the mq pictures, social media and other things and keep that thread open to everyone and then have a separate thread for HQ images and that one can be restricted to 1000 post or whatever number.

I'm good with this idea. You could grab all the mediums for the plebs, then we view protect HQs, I really like this idea actually.

@PinkCouture To put a post count requirement on a thread do I need to create a subforum within the VSFS 2018 thread?

I think so. It should work. If it doesn’t we will try it another way. 

I think I set up the HQ/UHQ sub-thread correctly. I made the post requirement 1000 as of now. I also made a Medium quality thread and pinned/locked it.

Also there is a link in red at the top of the forum that links to the 2017 VSFS thread, any idea on how we change that to the 2018?
