2. Image Posting Guidelines

Nudity:

Tasteful nudity is allowed, but must be textlinked. This means do not embed, or thumbnail, images containing nudity.

Is this rule valid anymore? I mean, I'm not against nudity in pictures (God knows I'm not!), but since there is still that rule... I think we should revise it or something.

I posted this in the wrong other thread while I was on my soap box though it would be more appropriatly discussed here...

Great that we have a nudie rule and then not only don't enforce it, but overtly override it to "be cool" or whatever. Makes all the rules look pretty fuckin flimsy, IMNSHO. Personally I think the nudie rule is a good thing for two reasons:

1) we have alot of kids on this board and it's always good to err on the side of caution on this sort of thing.

2) many people like to surf here at work or in some other situation where having the nudies in plain view might make it impossible for them to do so.

If we "strip away" the nudie rule, things will surely get out of hand...and quick. And where then will we draw the line? What exactly will be acceptable and what will not? What would stop people from posting nudies in every post and/or in everyone's sig? It will be impossible to draw it without hurting feelings or pissing people off. The best thing to do is to stick to our nudie rule.

But what kind of sticking to the rule is that? If there's a post with nudity (usually uncovered nipples), no one cares to edit it anymore, besides myself. The rule may stay just in order to 'pretend' that it's obeyed.

Well, it's up to us to enforce all the rules we set. Pretty simple. Isn't that one of the primary tasks of the moderator?

I'll make sure to enforce the nudity rule now that I'm a moderator as long as the others don't seem to have a problem with it? I personally don't mind nudity as long as it's tasteful, like maybe the side of a butt or a boob, but if it's full frontal I think it should be strongly enforced if only because not everyone wants to see that. However if we want all nudity dealt with, I can see why too.
