I do understand completely why the anger was there, and actually agree with what posted for the most part. I just thought the means were inappropriate.

I too agree to the same, that it shouldn't have taken place there at all, and in all fairness, the steps taken were appropriate.

I just felt the absolute need to say what a lot of people think, and this threads' issue happened to be a fitting pedestal, unfortunately.

Just so everyone is clear, I'm not like raging angry at anyone if that's how anyone feels, even Neo, though given the chance he would probably gladly piss in my hat.

I think it's safe to clean the junk out of that thread, if that's what you meant.

I had another thought about this. It's probably kicking a dead horse, as around here nothing in regards to these sort of things ever seem to get done, but I had to put this down while it was on my mind.

As I said before, if one wanted to place the blame where it belonged, which would be on everyone, a warning should be passed on to the instigator of the problem. Whether or not people care if they're warned, and I can see where Admin types wouldn't but it's the principle of the thing. Another comment I have is that if this cannot or will not be done, the warnings should be removed. Yes, on one hand, it was a brand of flame. But on the other, poking at people until they snap, which Neo seems to like to do, is just as bad or worse. Perhaps this should be an example and we should add to our list of "warnable offenses" that instigating a fight/flame is just as bad as doing the flame itself.

Because honestly? This entire thing was stupid and could have been avoided if people thought before they typed.

And speaking of the warnable offenses, do we want to post that list to the rules section, or not? We need to decide on what constitutes a warning, and inform the rest of the board so people aren't afraid of saying something because they think the Mod Gestapo is going to slam the ban hammer down on them.

Added on to the Warnable Offenses list, we need to post a how-to on how to make a topic, make a poll, and ad pictures because it seems half the board has no idea what they're doing.

i'd like to give a big THANK YOU to capt for basically saying everything that needed to be said. i accept responsibility for being out of line but i find it amusing that when a fight broke out among members over the now infamous gay remark made by nomi, i was said to have been playing favorites because i didnt warn everyone involved and there was the suggestion that nomi's comment was in part justified because ben had called him a stalker. yet marduk makes a remark that basically says that in an open forum i'm not allowed to speak, admits that he's basically doing it to piss me off and yet he doesnt deserve a warning? yet when ben "instigated" that other fight he did deserve a warning and i was in the wrong for not slapping him with one?

i just don't see the logic behind this at all.

but whatever, what's done is done.
