The purpose of introducing the decriptions in the first place is to get keywords and phrases on the index page. There are a few decent ones that could be worked in if possible: celebrity/celebrities, pictures (important one), hollywood, gossip (maybe), entertainment, news...

almost all crawlers dont even read meta tags, and they are no longer used for pageranks since lots of people were abusing them. At least thats what ive heard about adsense and yahoo (the only 2 worth worrying about)

As for crawlers using meta tags, I have a website I haven't touched in two months. It's #7 on Yahoo! after the official type pages (NHL, shit like that) and #1 on google and all we have is meta tags.

Also, the ads do use meta tags as well as the page title itself. As long as the tags are structured, well thought out, they're fine. What ad sense has an issue with is keyword stuffing, which means instead of having 100 well thought out keywords, you have 700 really stupid ones.

true, keywords are important in the text of the page. Spiders crawl pages to reading text in order to index them properly (the first 1000 words actually). That is why when you do a search on Google, for instance, you see the words you searched for highlighted under the page title in sections of page text.

I had a random thought yesterday. I know we have no banned words right now. But what if we did but came up with interesting replacements? Like cunt turns into, idk strawberry or something. Maybe this just amuses me but I think it would be interesting to do.

Or just a list of words we're tired of seeing. Virgin could be turned into something else, for instance.

ugh i'd pay good money to have the threads in Guys and Girls of Bellazon password protected. i'm really tired of having to pretend i like people that just randomly decide to visit my thread.
