Really, you don't like blood and gore and all that? Maybe my access to the medical and surgical pictures database will come in handy then. I have a good picture of a prolapse just waiting for you Ed.

Seriously though some of the surgery programmes on television are just . . . :x . It's not like that in real life, although it is always a rather chaotic affair, surgery.

Why do they have a picture database of surgery photos? Does surgery... smell? :x

Surgery does smell actually. The diathermy kit cauterises the wounds, etc . . . The essence of burnt flesh pervades the operating theatre.

. . . Northerners are a bit more bubbly but I really would not spend time living up there with them. Liverpool's really rather rough; parts of it (and of Glasgow) have a lower life expectancies than the Gaza Strip. Liverpool has some serious ghettoes (Croxteth, etc) and there's a serious gun crime problem. I would visit the North by all means - ensure that you take an interpreter though, I can't understand Geordies at all - but really would not recommend living there. The South (including London) and, I suppose , the Midlands are probaly better places to stay as they're a little less feral and are pretty decent transport-wise.

hmmm... maybe I'll take your advice then I was looking forward to going up to the north though How far is it from Chelsea to Newcastle by public transport anyway? I've already asked Robbie how much it costs to go from London to Liverpool and back

. . . Seen them.

I would advocate visiting, by all means, but would caution against living them for any period of time. They're rather more deprived than the rest of the country.

I'm not too sure how long it would take to get up to Newcastle - imagine that it might take only 2 or 3 hours on the East Coast Mainline from King's Cross.

Xer? you think I am that age .. age can be similar to weight; it is something not often revealed by a woman .. hehehe.. but i bet my age would surprise you..

I was told once, I had the behavior more of the "hippy" generation (I am not that generation BTW) .. but I would think I am much more unique than that anway, there really weren't any trekky computer geeks in the 60s .. lol .. were there? I do think you are on the right path to who I am .. I find that almost amazing with how I can type things not so clear sometimes..

I just assumed you were because of the link you posted hidden in some smiley how old would a X'er be nowadays anyway?

was Star Trek out in the 60s?

maybe I get more information about you than you think... *peers into telescope*

ugh I'm totally not cut out for medicine. Speaking of burnt flesh, has your lady friend heard about Black Saturday yet?

You should definitely learn, it's great. It's so hard though, fuck

Surfers normally have nice bodies, too So that's a plus.

Youz gonna get ripped from the waves :brows:

YEAH YOU DO

yeh I have zero balance so it might be even harder for me. But its one of those things I everntually do want to do. It would be great to surf

Well, I have a very low center of gravity and I still suck at it

But it's so much fun & you get to see such beautiful things that all

the whiping out and intense fatigue totally make it worth it.

You live in Australia too, dammit! You have to surf!

My pet kangaroo surfs!

Are you a good swimmer? I'm not - which might become a problem when I fall off my board :|

That's so cool! My pet polar bear prefers to snow shoe

I'm a good swimmer, but I actually have a fear of water But I try to ignore it

But yeah, you should probably get better at swimming before you try to surf.

I get freaked out at the beach sometimes because I think I see dark things swimming under the water around me :|

Bondi beach was evacuated some time last year because the lifeguards thought there was a shark in the waters. It was too small, so they thought it might've been a stingray (which is harmless apparently...ha! ask steve irwin!). Anyway, it ended up being a "bait-ball" - a school of catfish swimming around in a ball shape

anyway I'm off to the movies

. . . It's not too bad really, Ed. You really do get used to it.

It's really sad what happened in Australia. The forest fires were awful.

Certainly. . . . I think that I would need to brush up on the various things to see myself.

Talking of surfing, this was in the news yesterday:

wave460_1292187c.jpg

Surfer rides monster wave

That 60ft wave was in France, the surfer is tiny compared to the size of that wave. :| Apparently the surfer chap might have broken a world record for surfing the world's largest wave. If he had wiped out then there was supposedly a high chance that he could have been killed by the hundreds of tonnes of water that would have broken on top of him.

Apparently the waves are better around the UK and France at the moment than they are in Australia and up the US' Western coast. Wouldn't want to get in the water at the current temperatures here though.

That wave is crazy

Not sure about the rest of Australia, but it is pretty tame around the beaches in Sydney at the moment. Though there are 2 cyclones forming up in northern Australia. Maybe they'll have some good surf

paranoia my psych calls it :|

didn't end up seeing a movie because there were no good ones on at the time, so just ended up walking around. I found a nice black cardigan-type-thingy as well and I really wanted to buy it, but it's body fitting, so it doesn't look good on me
