"Chic is a kind of mayonnaise, either it tastes, or it doesn't."

That one I like. (Y) But seriously I really enjoy seeing interviews of him because he is funny and smart. Besides that could you ever imagine Chanel without him as a designer?

It's going to happen though...

Ja, I know it's going to happen, hell, it can happen everyday But though it will be a great loss, look at YSL, Valentino, McQueen etcpp they all continued as if nothing ever happened.

~... Uhm, sorry, Mr Valentino, I hope this finds you in good condition, I know you only quit the job ...~

And since Karl created such a hype about himself I guess they will continue to use his picture/Signature etc for merchandise. The industry is such a whore, it's all about money. But who am I to judge, I'm part of the system as well with me being the fashion addict and therefore loyal customer ... I'm almost glad I'm far away from being rich for I guess I would spend all my money buying Chanel products

Ja, Bette is so fantastic, isn't she Of course it was only natural I fell for her - big blue eyes, fantastic lips, awesome legs, ... I'm too predictable I'm glad her career is going faster this season, it had slowed down so much and I was wondering if she was going to quit the job - but then came ss 12 and baaaaam, there she appears back on the catwalk as if nothing happened. Did a little happy dance over here

... although it killed me to replace that yawning baby-sloth ... I posted a bunch of avis in the model's threads yesterday. There were so many good videos lately, I could never use all I made. I really need to buy me some decent programme some time in the future. I'm using animake, which is a free software and works okayish, but it's very simple and basic. Doing avis is so much fun, but animake works really really slow. Of course that could be due to my laptop ... I should really reformat it and get rid of all useless things ... :sigh:

As for Karl - funny you ask, I just read he's going to be guest editor for Metro Magazine in February, must try to getmy hand on the issue

KARL'S FINE PRINT:
Karl Lagerfeld is known to be a crowd pleaser, and on Feb. 7 he will be courting an audience of 800 million-plus.
The designer has agreed to be global guest editor on that day for Metro International newspapers.
The Kaiser is taking a page from Lady Gaga, who did the honors on May 17 and reached more than 800 million people
in the process.
Lagerfeld will spend the day in the company’s Paris newsroom working with editors and providing illustrations and
commentary for “The World According to Karl” edition.
The special issue will kick off Metro’s coverage for fashion weeks in New York, London, Milan and Paris,
with coverage running in Metro’s newspapers in 100 cities in 22 countries.
The newspapers has a daily readership of more than 17 million.

“I love daily papers and it’s fun to be part of one of them just for the day.
Metro is on a worldwide scale and it’s even more fun,” Lagerfeld said.

As part of the lead-up, Metro readers will be encouraged to compete in a Look Book competition where they will
submit their own fashion statements to a global Web site to try to win a trip to Paris to be the editorial assistant on Feb. 6,
as well as an assortment of items from Lagerfeld’s collections.

And theeeen I can hardly wait for the pre-fall 2012 collection which will be held on 6th of December. According to Tfs it'll be inspired by India - oh, I'm reallyreally looking forward to see it, I love the Pre-Falls.

Last year's Paris-Byzanz was sooo amazing.

(Pre-Fall 2011)

And the year before? Paris - Shanghai? Epic.

(Pre-Fall 2010)

The year before was Paris- Moscow, the details!!!

(Pre-Fall 2009)

Then again Chanel's details are always awesome ...

The year before the show took place in London. Was a pretty decent show, though I wasn't thaaat electrified. The only piece I'm reallyreally dying to get it is the coat Snejana wears around 8:00 ... so if anyone needs an idea what to get me for christmas ...

(Pre-Fall 2008)

2007 was Paris - Montecarlo, which was kinda lame, though I love the embroideries ..

- just for the record. And the music is awful, we call it elevator-music in Germany ^^

(Pre-Fall 2007)

I can't remember what he did in 2006 (youtube can't either O_o). Paris- Tokyo was Pre-Fall 2005, but since I don't really remember it and the video available is so crappy ... I guess I'll finish with the Pre-Fall here

So India this time, I think I'm going to love it. I love the colorful dresses and floating materials ... though we're talking about Fall, I guess he will take his inspiration rather from the northern part of India ... thinking of Kashmir, thinking of Kashmir goats, thinking of colorful soft wools, fur caps (though I'm hoping for fake fur), rich embroideries ... thinking of Mariacarla Boscono for Hermès FW 08 ... though those are rather Tibetan style I guess ^^ (source: tfs)

Whow, you´re really a fan but they all look so stylish and I guess Karl is going to be original as always... he never fits in the crowd

I´m not much into fashion shows, I´m more into models... actually I´m not into fashion at all, which is ironic, if you ask me. In RL, I don´t really care what I wear, I just wear things I like and feel comfortable in, I´m no fashionista and actually consider addiction to fashion clothes a huge unnecesarity but the whole world fascinates me, and I like the art of fashion and beautiful women.

And I like people here on BZ

MEL! I wanted to ask you a favor. Someday when you are not busy fixing problems here on BZ or worshipping Karl the Great - would it be possible to make me an ava from the wonderful Doo.Ri video with Vanessa?

That would be sooo nice. I love her there and it just shows how beautiful she really is. THANKS!

I guess, that's what true luxury is - when the only thing you need to care of is yourself and do whatever you want to do. I wouldn't be happy if I couldn't take care for other people that is, I like to cook for my friends and I'm very devoted to my family and I've got a cat and a dog, so ... but I wonder how it would feel if you had no strings whatsoever ...

I was all of a sudden interested in fashion. I'd always loved fashion magazines and I'd always liked well made clothes and shoes. I never really cared for trends or styles, I'd always tend to mix the things I like only that nowadays I think more careful about my outfit. But I'm the usual Jeans and Sneaker girl that likes to dress up from time to time. I can't walk on heels properly and don't wear much make-up. I guess no one would guess I spend most of my online time in the fashionworld

I'm glad I started with Bellazon, I just love this forum. It's so peaceful and I met wonderful people here It's just the nicest place to live out the fan girl in me

I agree with you. As much as I call myself introvert and loneliness-fan, I can´t stand real loneliness anymore. I love to care about someone, cook for him, or just spend my free time with him - given that I moved from my home-flat 4 years ago to live with fl, I now care for him, and for our friends. I can no more imagine a really lonely life, like I thought I appreciate... I appreciate lonely moments, but more than 1 day makes me crazy. I love to be surrounded by friends and feel their presence. When fl is away and I sleep alone, I can´t doze off really, and wake up too early, I can´t stand being alone in the bed. I´ve gotten too addicted I guess, damn.

Can´t imagine what it would be like to take care only about myself??

Lol, same here no one would guess I visit Bellazon and know models by names the same jeans and sneaker girl here too I never wear make up because of allergy, so here you have it. And I actually hate heels last time I wore them to fl´s brothers´ wedding I swore the whole day and night till I was able to take them off and dance barefoot

Yeah, many wonderful people here

Karlie has a strange yet exceptionally striking body- I like it!

Soooooo, anyone seen the collection?

Any thoughts?

To be honest I'm not thaaaaat crazy about it, ... jaaaa, the details are amazing, the jewelry as well, but maybe I thought it would be more of a statement according to the theme, it's too white, it feels too calm ... I mean I've never been to India, maybe I've skipped through too many Bollywood movies

You can find a video on the details here:

I'm not sure about the diet. I know she loves to cook and bake so she can't be all on protein. She started ballet dancing quite early and she's doing Pilates, so there comes the muscels. She looks like she's doing a lot work out, so I guess her metabolism is quite high and burns every calory right away. I got friends who are exactly the same, very thin, but heavy eater. No one could imagine the tons of food they eat and not getting any thicker, it's so frustrating to see it!

I don't think Karlie is too thin or anorectic. She's very thin, yes, but she looks strong and healthy.

I have a friend who is exactly like that... she can eat like anything and still stays very thin and sinewy - she has 2 sisters and 2 brothers that are exactly the same. And her mother and father are just the same... it´s genes. But there are little differences there - she is more skinny like (but still, when in swimsuit, very softly looking), and one of her sisters has more curves to that skinny body - she really is a stunner with blue-green eyes and black hair. But the metabolism is the same in the whole family, lol. We´re always joking that their parents must have had some recipe called "how to make beautiful people" because they are all very pretty and handsome. I can post pics if I find them

Ah, but only if they agree, Jennka, I always feel a little uncomfortable with posting private pictures ... that's why I'm not a fan of Paparazzi pictures. Even if you're a celebrity you should have the right to live a private life and have some say in when pictures of you are taken.

Oh yeah. However, Karlie's arms and legs don't look very muscular at all- they are definitely not track & field legs. She probably does a lot of cycling but limited running or weight training.

hilaryrhodalettershaiti.jpg

Is she really 5'11''? I've noticed that many tall models publicize 5'11'' but they seem over 6' . Karlie, in candid photos, is considerably taller- perhaps 3 inches- than Hilary Rhoda (who is taller than most models). Yet they both claim the same height. I wonder why..:-p

j13225018135990013.jpg

Toni Garrn is enormously tall- This is photo of her standing under a door and next to normal sized man. She is not much shorter than the door..

She, IIRC, also claims 5'11''....

Maybe it's just as bad if you're "too" tall as when you're too short, so they reduze the height a bit? I don't know it seems you can't trust none of the stats given out by the agencies ... then again in my passport I'm 1,69m, but I'm only about 1,67m, I guess. In Germany you have a passport for children and then with 12 or 14 or such you needed to get a passport for adults (or at least it was when I was 12 or 14, I can't remember anymore - and maybe the system's changed too, but well ...) - anyway, I went to the citizen's office to get me an adult passport and the guy asked me how tall I am and I just said 1,69m - don't ask me why - and he was like 'okay' and put it on the passport without further measuring or at least asking

But you're right, even if Hillary is standing a little more in the background, Karlie seems to be easily taller than her and they're both listed 5'11 ...
