Okay, so my first attachment:

Elsa looks good w/eye shadow

Is it just me, or do her legs look really stumpy in that shot?

I think Elsa's legs were always on the short side for her height. She has a long and hourglass shaped upper body

^Yeah, I suppose you're right, looking back. They just look weirdly stumpy in that shot in particular

I saw Dark Shadows last night. It was okay, and pretty entertaining, but it felt really disjointed with some rather weak character development. But then there was Bella Heathcote.. wow chicker.gif

She reminds me of a cross between Edita and Heather Graham faint.gif

^I'm a fan of Tim Burton generally, but the trailer for this didn't interest me (it's not a tv show I'm familiar with, and it didn't come across as particularly funny) bar the fleeting glances of that girl - whose name I now know thanks to you! (Y)

I'm going to see the movie tomorrow, I'm pretty looking forward to it! I loved the TV show and am really liking Tim Burton's work in general. He's so talented and imaginative!

I also got a thing for Johnny Depp ... ... and there's a strange fascination about Vampires ... ... I'm also pretty fond of Helena Bonham Carter and Michelle Pfeiffer, while we're at it ...

I'll be interested to hear your thoughts on it once you see it, especially from the point of view of a fan of the original series.

I'm a Burton fan too, and I liked the cast, but it just seemed like it was really lazily written. The only interesting things about it were Johnny Depp's 'out of his time' situation, and his relationship with Eva Green's character. Everything else was half-arsed, and I didn't care about any of the characters, who as I said were sorely underdeveloped. Many of the characters and other plot points definately had potential, but it just all deflated into nothing. Maybe they just tried to cram too much crap in (Y)

Still - insta-smitten with Bella, so not a total loss

Okay, I wanted to see the Dark Shadows too - but I don´t think you would recommend it? I love the cast, how it could go wrong??

I think I might, I´m not very demanding watcher I loved his Alice in Wonderland!! What do you think about it? Is it possible to compare these two?

^Oh, yeah I really liked that

I wouldn't really compare the two. I mean there's a common thread that runs throughout all Burton's films, and if you enjoy them, you'll certainly appreciate certain aspects of Dark Shadows - the cinematography and soundtrack for example were great, as they always are. The problem was with the script and the editing.

^Me too. When he's on, he's on (well, Burton and Depp). I was disappointed by Charlie And The Chocolate Factory too, and Planet Of The Apes - I think I've really liked everything else though (particular favourites: Sleepy Hollow and Ed Wood). It's the first time I haven't even really considered going to the cinema to watch a Burton film though.

Jennka, if you can, I'd see This Must Be The Place instead. I saw it last last night at an independent cinema, and it was superb... (Have you seen it, donny?)

I quite enjoyed Charlie & The Chocolate factory, although it's not amongst my favourites.

I never saw Ed Wood, but I agree Sleepy Hollow is one of his best. My absolute favourite is probably Big Fish, although ironically that's one of his least 'Tim Burtony' films

Haven't heard of This Must Be The Place actually, but it looks really interesting though. Might have to chase that one down..

I also want to see that stunning woman you posted donny. I´ve searched through her pics and now I´m smitten with her - exactly like you said, Edita and Goldie mixed, those huge eyes, that facial bone structure, WHOW!

Alice has a deep meaning for me, I´m in love with the character - also Mia Wasikowska just WAS the right Alice if you ask me she was dreamy, and so perfect. It is just too often that I feel like an Alice in Wonderland that when I watched the movie, I felt like "oh my. Here I am" the final relationship between Alice and the Mad Hatter when she was leaving for the "real world" still stays in my mind - when he said "You will forget about me" and she was like "How could I ever forget about you?" and he just smiled and you could read "You already did once" - and you just knew that she is going to forget about him.

"Why is a raven like a writing desk?" this is an eternal one I have the original book in my kindle and right after the movie I just had to read it again, and everytime the sentence was in there, I thought about Johhny Depp

Sean Penn holds a huge respect in my heart. Thank you for showing this to me - I have to see it for sure!!

I really loved Charlie and the Chocolate Factory - especially for the human aspects showed in there - like you had this bunch of kids and every and each of them was punished for their "sins" - and that the poorest and humblest kid from them has won everything. I know it´s an old story and many call it "cliché" - but I think it´s vital for children to see such movies and learn what the moral principles are really like - or more, what they should be like.

Chocolate factory was a symbolism, it was a fair place in an unfair world. The movie was about everything good in humans (sharing the last piece of chocolate) and about everything bad in humans (nasty and spoiled kids and their parents) - it was a mirror of this society with a dreamy happyend.

I know I´m such a romantic fool when it comes to these kind of things - I just can´t help it

Alice in Wonderland is one of my favourite things in the world - conceptually as well as all its various interpretations and incarnations. The Disney cartoon is one of my favourite movies

Remember that artist I linked in your thread the other day Camille Rose Garcia? She did the illustrations for a run of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland books a couple of years ago. I have a copy, and it's pretty amazing

Also, is "Goldie" Heather Graham's nickname?

I've been hammering Beach House and Best Coast over the past few days

I've been known to hesitate in checking out follow-ups to albums I really love but I bit the bullet on both yesterday. 'Bloom' is mostly terrific thus far, though I'm struggling with the Best Coast one a little. It seems in trying to highlight the best thing about the band (Bethany's voice) they also unwittingly highlighted the worst thing (the lyrics). Still, early days yet.
