It would be easier to list the fish that I don't like than those I do
. I'll work on it though. This would be a waste in the 'Food' thread, so I figured I'd post it here
. What are your favorite seeds and nuts? You can include roasted, seasoned and unseasoned separately or raw only if you want.

Not a particular reason to post, but just wanted to say hi

She's certainly lost weight, and no doubt that's a contributing factor, but don't you think she's kind of always looked older than she is?
And yeah, Marisa was one of my all time favourite bodies. I guess she was never amongst those who I considered the prettiest, but she epitomised the sunkissed beach babe, and she wore bikinis like they were a second skin. She always came across as incredibly down to earth in interviews too.

I have them listed now
but really, the time is a huge issue
I also started to create Christmas presents for my family (I find it better than actually buying them) - so I have even less time for reading now

Hi, W
You don't need a reason to post here. Welcome. Wanna talk about movies?
Marissa has..disappeared. What happened to her? When I first joined BZ, her thread was still on page 1. Hmmph..

How did you do that? Were the clues on the lower right corner enough for you to find it?

Yeeeees
Prepare for a lot of discussion though
What are your top 5 or top 10 favorite films W?

Oh, so you don't give them a 100 Euro gift card...............
no, I don´t - well, I don´t have that much money for everyone anyway ![]()
Do you carve them things out of wood or knit them stuff? Or paint pictures...?
I will post pics of those when finished in my thread
I´m doing a strongbox for my sister, and also a picture of a cat tattoo I drew long ago:
but "carved" into wood by the engraving pen I have. For my niece, I did some kind of "merry-go-round" that will hang from the ceiling, with heads of Hello Kitties hung on it, it´s hard to describe, I will rather post a pic later ![]()
And I also plan (but I do not know if I´m gonna have enough time for it) to do something similar like the picture on wood for my sister, only with horses - for my father.
I didn't mention it, but I did read more than I said. I read a book on tax avoidance, for instance..just didn't mention it..
I thought so ![]()
Also, in the last 12 months I also watched the entire webcasts of 3 first rate (NYU, Colombia) grad school courses which helped clear up some problems I had with my understanding. I didn't do the course work, of course, but I benefited accordingly as the market prices for these materials is rather high...Anyway, that's why I didn't read much outside of work as of late.
Which kind of courses were they?
With the mind and information- it's a matter of experience. The mind gets more flexible with practice. It's interesting, you know. Anybody can double and triple their native capacity to absorb information after they do it for a while. Kind of like a muscle..
As for the military stuff- I waffled with a engineering/military career while I was coming of age, and I did and exceeded all the prerequisites for getting admission to West Point. However, the love of warfare never left me, and having studied it every year since I was 6 or 7 years old it is a rather difficult habit to break.
As far as the world wars go, the Second World War is certainly more voluminous and interesting than the First. The US Army archives weigh 17,000 tons (of paper) and the Soviet archives are similar. New developments are still being made to this day, and current scholarship on the subject receives quite a lot of attention.
As for me, I cleared a college course on the subject and have an entire bookshelf filled with pricey volumes. I know the general history of the second world war, but being that war is only a minor side interest for me, I have not really read much of what I have.
So I'm a purposeful dilettante with access to a large volume of high quality military information (eg. Glantz & House's staff). Basically, I study purely for entertainment and conversational purposes with other men.
So I have had a lifelong interest in social and economic histories along with armored and infantry fighting formations, equipment, best practices, and military theory & technique. Since the Eastern front 1941-1945 is indeed the greatest conflict in human history, it produces the strongest emotion from me. The practice of physical power on the battlefield and the process of creating and applying new forms of organization/management (whether military, business, governmental, etc.) has always fascinated me. And so have all the war crimes, and the psychological status of people in conflict.
Why did you choose economics in the end instead of engineering/military career?

What are your top 5 or top 10 favorite films W?
I make these more often, and they change enormously everytime I do, soo.. ![]()
1. Taxi Driver (cliche, chliche, I know
)
2. De Gelukkige Huisvrouw
3. Pulp Fiction
4. Up ![]()
5. Les Intouchables
6. Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows / LOTR Fellowship of the Ring
7. Forrest Gump
8. The Dark Knight (mainly because of the Joker)
9. The Basketball Diaries / Mysterious Skin
10. Mean Girls (I LIKE MEAN GIRLS, ALRIGHT? I can probably synch the whole movie
)

Hey Andi, did u catch the lighting show on the Empire State building on Nov. 26th? First ever use of the new LED lighting system in sync with a song. They used Alicia Keys "Girl is on Fire and Empire State of Mind" song for it all. What a magnificent sight to say the least ![]()

I think she semi-retired, if not fully.. then got pregnant. Or maybe the other way around. Either way, I guess she's concentrating more on family and other endeavours these days.
She kept herself in a rather interesting shape. It was tilted towards muscular but not enough to distort her figure.
Yes
Her smile still lit up the video though
Her other outfit (corset + hat) last year was actually one of the stand-outs for me. I found the butterfly one rather forgettable.
Oh yes, I remember that as well. Very cartoony. Good that they kept both, right?
Shanina I find fantastically attractive. Her debut was one of the few highlights in last year's show, and again this year she caught my eye instantly (never mind that I was actively seeking her out). In terms of her other work, she hasn't really done anything to set the world on fire yet, but I hope to see her in a lot more editorials in the coming years. This Vogue shoot is probably my favourite of hers that I've seen so far:
Thanks for the intro. A few new names for me (old names, but new explorations): Natalia V. the Great and Patricia van der Vliet. Natalia V. is very much 'high budget' model and got all the best jobs. Unfortunately, she's 30 and moving into other areas right now.
No, I haven't! The ugliest fish I've ever seen is the one with the 'lamp' on its head. Do you know what I've referring to?
---
And do you remember my last post about Prometheus? I actually stumbled upon the official ' Making- of Prometheus' book and skimmed the Ridley Scott interviews way back. I was frankly not impressed with the fact that there was no cohesive, overlaying vision (at least revealed). The text gave me the impression that 'Prometheus', and all of its quirkly little gems were created and directed from the seat of Scott's pants.
The final alien for instance...to my disappointment was an ad-hoc job with no pre-ordained significance to the story. It was literally thrown into the movie while production was coming into a close!
----
Also, Hilary looked best in her SI days:
I'd rather not post a recent snap, but it's clear that she's lost considerable weight ever since then. Both her face and her body look different.
---
And: Izabeli has some of the most 'showy' attention gathering poses I've ever seen, and she makes sure that people are constantly reminded of them: ![]()

I remember I had one of the photos from that editorial saved... it was on another computer though so I couldn't check the info. I knew it was Vogue China though, and was 90% sure it was from January 2010 issue but googled it 'just in case'. To be honest, I found out the photorapher's name only yesterday
As for Marisa, didn't she also try acting? I thought she was going to be in some movie. Similarly to Anne V who's gonna be in "Die Hard part 5" haha.

Yes, I remember she was Megan Fox's replacement for "Transformers" and even though it made loits of money, I don't think it helped her with getting more acting jobs. Then again, what did she expect?
I haven't seen her act but I assume she was probably on the same level of acting abilities as Cindy Crawford or Claudia Schiffer.
I have no idea! ![]()

^Rosie shone like a beacon of truth - cutting through the robo-twaddle, LaBeouf gurning, and Gung-Ho nonsense making unnecessary noise all around her! <_< Considering some of the names attached to that turgid movie she had little to lose and came up alright in comparison...
Hey, and you don't get to have a supporting role in a long unwanted overdue Mad Max remake without making some sort of splash in your debut!
Well, yeah, it wasn't all that - but she looked absolutely luminous. ![]()

But hey, I want to know yours too!
Aaaaand favorite movies, not best ones ![]()

But hey, I want to know yours too!
Aaaaand favorite movies, not best ones

^^ To be honest action movies are probably the kind of genre I watch least.
But if you say it's good, I might give it a try more often!
Haven't seen about half of the films on your list *torrenting*
Agree on Dark Knight, everything Nolan makes is close to perfection to me.
Band of brothers- hadn't even heard from it before my boyfriend showed it to me.
Watched all of it in a row with him and his friends one night. I was tired, but couldn't keep my eyes away from the screen.
(Also- where I fell in love with Tom Hardy
)
There's more, I just have to think harder. Unfortunately, I don't have huge confidence in this list. I've probably only watched, on average, 3 movies a year for the past 3 years so my perspective must certainly have changed a lot since then.....
