Mel Gibson made a movie about a Medal of Honor Winner (who was a medic at Iwo Jima) .  It has a similar structure to "we were soldiers" and is made with a christian audience in mind.

I wonder how mass culture will change with a Trump presidency.

Mel is a fave of mine, It's good to see him back on track, clear of the addictions caused by his his mental disorder.

I'm looking forward this movie.

I don't like watching christian movies so I skimmed to the end.  The battle scenes are gonzo, like Taegukgi or Windtalkers.  Definitely not as good as the ones in the Pacific.

Excellent series, based on 3-4 memoirs

Thanks, I don't watch any series, that's why I'm clueless.

I saw a few interviews of the crew of Hacksaw Ridge, it's a relatively low-budget independent movie by the producers of Braveheart.

Book view of Greenspan's biography by Fed Chief Bernanke

This is the first Greenspan biography of any note and details his actions prior to the Great Recession.

I listened to one of Bannon's talks and he clearly a latent/proto white nationalist in the judeo-christian sort of sense and believes all sorts of sociological theories along those lines.  His understanding of the financial problems and framing the business/economics as being the superstructure of US politics is correct in my view, though.  But I find his other attitudes to be largely quaint and he uses a lot of historicism, much of which I find fallacious.

His website, which attacks Democrat party/biased media corruption is commendable in this sense but I find the framing of everything white nationalist terms rather gross.  Eg. It is not necessary to attack homosexuals and feminists.

I think cultural marxism is a stupid, antagonistic, and inaccurate term, a pejorative only used by the right.  A more straightforward adj. should be: "decadence", "indulgence", and hardly unique to these times but rather throughout the history of civilizations.    They are confusing something incidental to inclinations that naturally form with a more broadened mind.

Basically, Mr. B's theory is idiotic!

So you rather agree with Spengler's philosophy of history.

No, don't believe there is a set pattern.  Didn't read the book.

Navarro and Ross' White Paper.  Posting this here to remind myself to read it sometime

https://assets.donaldjtrump.com/Trump_Economic_Plan.pdf

Ross is now US Sec of Commerce and Navarro is one of the two right-wing academics on Trump's economic council.  The other is a supply side pundit.
