I have been looking forward to "Cyberpunk 2077" since I learned of it being in development. "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt" was probably the best game I played in the last three years.

what was the game before that?

I don't know if it's possible to make a game better or larger than the Witcher!

Probably "Bioshock Infinite". Fuck the critics, I thought that was a near-perfect game.

the critical counter-backlash made no sense to me, seemed artificial.

I liked the original Bioshock and "Burial at Sea" a bit more but both were great.  What made this series so good was the storytelling and the writing.  So much volume/depth and world building.

Who's Donbot? I think I've seen this username in a thread of a model I like, but I don't really know this guy.

Bioshock is great. I like the universe, I love the music. Especially, Bioshock Infinite.

The guy who made this song is very gifted. Two melodies at the same time, conflicting with each other; great stuff.

I don't know a lot about metal gear solid. My favorite franchises are Fallout, Deus Ex, Dishonored. Far cry and Assassin's creed are alright as well.

Good news: Bioshock 4 is beginning in development!!!

Yea, I love bioshock and B:I.  Especially the writing, storytelling, music and the artwork.  Very creative and memorable.  B2 was made by another studio and wasn't as good.  It was weird that after such success, the company that made Bioshock broke up.

That's a great song, I remember that from the intro.

Metal Gear Solid is one of the best game franchises ever (it's in my top 5).  It was the most ambitious franchise I've seen until the Witcher.  Story, music, action, and creativity were top notch. Michael (poster admin) also likes it.  It also has two of the best developed heroes in videogame history:

I like Deus Ex a lot too, although it's Human revolution that I like.  It's very rich in lore.  The Mankind divided was a bit sloppily developed.

Far Cry is alright, my favorite is the caveman one (Primal).  Very unusual setting and I like all the animals.  Assasins' Creed- I like the Pirate Ship one and the third one the most.  (3 and 4 IIRC).

Metro Exodus looks great. I really liked "Metro Last light", it was a pretty good game (the only reproach I would make is that it was too short!) The designs, the graphics, the gameplay, the guns, the rain and the condensation on the gas mask: great piece of work, Russian style.

I like the Russians! Their raw strength and their crude honesty. They live in a country where you have to know how to survive.

This trailer is pretty good. I like how they used Massive Attack's music (Angel is the song).

I liked Last Light a lot, especially the world building.  The underground town was very cool.

Anyone play resident Evil 2 and 3?  I played them as a teen, and they were favorites.

The footage for RE2 remake is superb, it looks perfect for the classic game.

It is rumored that RE3 (the most likely candidate) is likely to get a remake too, as the developers want to do more remakes.

Sienna Guilllory was gorgeous as Jill in that horrible movie:

Also Red Dead Redemption and "The Last of Us"?  Sequels are also coming for them.

"Professor Lisa Feldman Barrett, Northeastern University and Massachusetts General Hospital, USA gave her lecture entitled "Emotion inside out: From cartoon neuroscience to the predictive brain" March 13 2018. Among many things, she has gained a lot of attention with her recently published book "How emotions are made: The secret life of the brain" (2017)."

Her book is supposed to be a must read, I have it on audio and will probably get to it within the summer.

Here is the full preview:  It looks very good: high tension, unforgiving.  The zombies are pretty dangerous and are bullet sponges.

I liked RE2 and RE3 the most.  RE2 sticks to me as it was a game that scared us shitless as kids.

Far cry primal was really good. The lifespan was too short though and they could've worked a little more on the weapons (like they could've added more, it just gives a sense of progression). Same for animals: they could've added some more (though I have to admit this "animal" system was really interesting and good).

The Deus Ex world is great. Dark and cold. It would be good if they made a movie out of it (or out of Metro Last light). I like "cold" movies with a well thought and complex storyline (not horror movies, just cold universes). I think that a lot of movies these days are too full of "feelings": good feelings (comedies, etc.) or supposedly sad feelings (dramas, etc.) which all end up being annoying.

Silent Hill 3 was the scariest game I've ever played.  I think it's a bit of a masterpiece. I never played SH2, which is considered as the best or second best.  I heard that the Silent hill franchise has largely concluded, with the formula being stale after so many titles.
