This is a high quality comic book version of the original Aliens 3 Screenplay

Kinda cool

I am listening to the audiobook for:
This book is so far impressive; it's a very detailed account of this woman's grief in giving birth to a dead child and a damaged one, and the focus is on the emotional journey through it. I was interested in the book in seeing if I could learn something more generalized about confronting great grief.

"Notes to the Everlost: A field Guide to Grief"
"Part memoir, part handbook for the heartbroken, this powerful, unsparing account of losing a premature baby will speak to all who have been bereaved and are grieving, and offers inspiration on moving forward, gently integrating the loss into life."

I received a copy of this book yesterday and the huge photo gallery (and the very precise and well researched captions) alone is excellent and uniquely valuable in studying the German 1942 offensives. The book itself looks very impressive & up to the high standards set by "Death of a Leaping Horseman". It is the history of 3 panzer battalions attached to the 3., 29., and 60. motorized infantry divisions, primarily in Case Blue and the battle for the Don bend.
This book is a relatively unknown gem, perhaps due to its price. The author is currently making volume 2, which is about the 16th Panzer division in 1942. Perhaps in the future the book will be re-released by Stackpole like his other books were.

The previously mentioned book, Confronting Case Blue is also very valuable and about a major soviet armored counterstrike during Case Blue.

They've done a decent job with the RE2: Remake- although I wish they went further and improved it more. It's almost "too much" like the 1998 original.
It's likely that the more action oriented RE:3 will get a remake, too!
have you guys played RE:2 backin the day?

winnie the pooh game:

I revisited the very first Resident Evil game about a year ago and honestly, I was surprised by how dated it felt. Good story, great atmosphere and the voice acting is a lark, but the controls and camera were a terrible mess, which I guess I must have a lower tolerance for nowadays. The only other one that I played back in the day was Code Veronica, and I remember the inventory being such a pain that you'd often reach the final boss with less firepower than needed, making it almost impossible to beat. I think I'm right in thinking that resource management was a major source of the tension throughout the franchise though, because you didn't know what would happen next, and never knew if you'd be prepared enough later.
I'd imagine this is the sort of thing though where the type of re-release they're doing, with modern graphics and presumably a major overhaul of the mechanics, would be fairly easy to get right.

I'm not a huge fan of Resident Evil games. I don't really like games with zombies. I like SF universes (like Aliens, Predators and stuff), but not zombies.

RE2 and 3 have a special place in my heart; some of the best nights with family and friends occurred while we played them 15-20 years ago. There was a remake for the original Resident evil that was done exceptionally well. The original RE is unplayable. I didn't like Code Veronica very much due to its bare-bones level design. Yes, resource management was big. The level design for RE2 (police station) and Re3 was good and both had classic mystery stories that were simple and worked.
The remake is doing very well commercially/critically and the RE3 remake will probably be made as Capcom/the producers have commented that the next remake will come if sales do well enough.
I watched it, and IMHO the RE2 remake is quality but far too short for modern standards. The gameplay engine is very solid. The Zombie engine is the best I've ever seen but there are only 3 enemy types (licker, zombie, dog) The game could be easily 3-4 times longer with the same quality. There is a free expansion pack that's coming in a few weeks.
I think that RE3 can easily be the best one if they make it longer- the engine has a lot of potential. The Zombies in the remake stalk you and even knock down doors. Limbs can be shot off and they still come at you. The Tyrant is pretty good at causing tension. I'm sure that the RE3 remake's Nemesis would be a great upgrade.

Yeah, I enjoyed it. Pretty good game.
I also like the "Aliens vs Predator" concept a lot (at least when they make games), though not all of them are good.

I liked it too but there doesn't seem to be a sequel
With A vs P the biggest media item for my childhood was the arcade game !
You aren't interested in Vikings the show?

Not really. I watch less and less TV series since they are more and more full of SJWs (and they p*** me off more and more). I listen to music, I have sex, I eat good food, I post on a forum about pretty women, I play games, I read books, and I travel. These are the stuff I do for leisure. Maybe I should try to do all of them at once, one day

found a great bit;
"Here’s to the woman that I love
And here’s to the woman that loves me,
And here’s to all those that love her that I love,
And to those that love her that love me."
Here’s to the prettiest, here’s to the wittiest,
Here’s to the truest of all who are true,
Here’s to the neatest one, here’s to the sweetest one,
Here’s to them all in one—here’s to you.
Here’s to those who love us,
And here’s to those who don’t,
A smile for those who are willing to,
And a tear for those who won’t.
Here’s to those who’d love us
If we only cared;
Here’s to those we’d love,
If we only dared.

I may have played A vs P 2 but i don't remember at all. This:
Vikings is a terrific (although uneven in quality) show. In some ways it's better than Game of Thrones and explores different (and more mature) themes. The main character of Ragnar (S1-S4) is better than any of the GOT characters and has a full "heroes' journey" arc. The current season (5) has been of significantly lower quality. S1-S3 has been excellent with a decline in quality for S4. I highly recommend it!
What books do you like? genres?

Mostly these:
- French novels from the 17-19th century (from the time our country had a lot of vital force and a high ambition, now it's just the shadow of itself...), e.g. Maupassant, Balzac, Zola
- Russian novels (Tolstoi, Dostoievesky mainly)
- Crime fictions (and mostly historical ones), like Sherlock Holmes
- Sometimes, history or philosophy books
And you?
