Nothing better than meat and patatoes and roasted lamb....sounds delicous We had prime rib, green bean casserole, and twice baked patatoes

And yes it is! Today was terrible...literally my fingers have been freezing no matter if I'm inside. Today we had something like windchills bellow 0

And I didn't really do anything for the New Year, just went to a friends house, had some fun. You?

The lamb was delicious indeed

712c74297199488.jpg

And that sounds amazing too!

Oh, I see you're not having the best time weather-wise... that's really cold!!

Not so different. I had dinner with the family and then I went over to a friend's house. We were like 8 or 7 people, and we didn't leave until 7 AM   . I'm not into those big New Year parties, so that was perfect for me: good friends, good music, and quite some nice drinks too

Hey, hows it going? Still lovely as ever I presume

I live in Michigan actually   and while alot of people here like to complain (which I do about the weather occasionally   ) its actually quite beautiful. Tons of grass and trees/forests that are always deep green in spring and summer, and beautiful colors in fall, and the Great Lakes, its actually quite beautiful (you know, besides Detroit   )

Its funny, as of late for reason I can't explain I have started taking a interest in the geographical locations of the American states/cities and reading up a little bit about them. Michigan is now ticked off. Noticed there is a place called London in Michigan

Naturally I can't speak for everybody but I have found the europeans knowledge (myself included   ) of this utterly appalling. We really don't have a clue

Well hey there long time no talk! You should stick around more often   And yes I'm still fabulous...not much else is new

And thats interesting, because I mean as lame as it sounds, we really are an interesting country. Alot of interesting landmarks, battles, history, etc. History was always my favorite subject in school actually, and I always found it intriguing to. What do you think of Michigan?   People think Michigan they automatically think crummy detroit, but its so much more than that. Can honestly say its quite beautiful! And I've never actually heard of London here

And really? I always thought it was backwards that everyone outside of the US knew everything about the US, while nobody in the US knows anything

HAPPY HOLIDAYS BTW!

I'll try and stick around. Not out of choice I can assure you. Just seem to always be busy doing something. I couldn't possibly comment on how I feel about Michigan as I have never been there. But from the outside it seems to be pretty cool place. Does it cater for the younger generation as much as you would like?

Oh thats still true about the Americans. - However we need to wise up on our facts as well

Reminds me of a funny story. A few years ago I was flying to Amsterdam and once we landed I hastily made my way towards the baggage carousel. As I arrived I found myself parked beside an American couple who at a guess where in their mid 40s. Now as I am sure you know, to determine which carousel number has your baggage you look at the screen and find your the airline you flown with and where you have come from. A very simple system and most effective. As i started to search for my flight I couldn't help but overhear the American couple getting a little distressed and confused as they couldn't find their flight. "oh my god honey, where on earth is our flight" To which the husband barked back "i DUNNO!! IM LOOKING, IM LOOKING"(Husband of the year this one...TWAT!!   )

Then she mutter in complete distress now..."god dam it, where the hell is Amsterdam!!"

Me - .....

At this point I kinda felt I had to step...So I was like excuse me, uhm...It lists the country you have come from not your destination. I then jokingly carried on and explained to her If that was the case they would all say Amsterdam wouldn't it and we would be none the wiser. "oh yeah!! - my my I am so silly" - Husband then shouts out in triumph "Found it!!"

I then started to walk towards my own carousel thinking to myself "Sheesh! what a fine representation you are to your  nation"

Saw it today........Liked it, but didn't live up to the book. I think those who didn't read the book will love it, but those who did read it, it will probably not live up to your expectations.

Overall though, good movie

If you talked to me a couple of weeks ago I would have shown no desire to watch it..and if you spoke to me a couple of days ago I would have told you that I hadn't watched any. However today that has all changed.

So I was at my friend's flat and she made a reference to The Hunger Games" Naively I wasn't aware of the franchise whatsoever. So naturally I was little lost, to which was clearly visible from the expression I was making (  )  She then asked if ever seen it. When I answered she looked shocked. (and slightly appalled )  "Oh you gotta watch its great"

About a week ago I subscribed to Netflix and noticed that the first film was listed so I put it in my films to watch and did so two days ago.

I was utterly, utterly enthralled by it from start to finish. Don't think I have been that emotionally invested in a character and wrapped up in her story for a very long time. Jumping up and down, adrenaline pulsating through my body as Katiness and the other tributes get ready to battle in the arena and beating them up when she did whilst shouting at the telly.    The very next day I was in the cinema watching the second part of the tale. Although less shouting and jumping

Now its probably time to point out that I am 27 years old. After reading the last couple of paragraphs some may say I need to get out more and advocate that I should probably get a girlfriend.   Maybe they are right...but I can honestly say for that  2:30mins I was a kid again. Now in my view thats the effect ever film should have on you.

I have now decided to read the books - I know it probably should be the other way around but after hearing such praise about them I am really intrigued. Saying that I have never been a fan of adaptation of books to the motion picture. It almost always ruins it. When reading a book everyone has their own personal perception of the story and takes away different things from it.

However once that then gets put onto film that perception gets dented and you then perceive it how the filmmakers see
it   Same goes with music video and music artists. Thus never living up to your expectations

Anyway I thought you would like to know that I am a classic case of backing up your theory

P.S - Im definitely hungry for Jennifer Lawrence's game :brows:

Yeah I know. It sucks the best ones always got to be busy And Michigan is really cool.....I mean we have the coldest whitest winters, the greenist, colorful, rainiest springs, hottest summers with the greenist trees and the Great Lakes, and the falls are filled with the prettiest fall colors. Its got it all really! And I think it does, though there is alot of country, so sometimes its hard to get to a club or a fun hotspot if you live in the country Other than that though when you are in the cities they are pretty hot

and lol thats what I feel like we do. Like american tourists make themselves look like such asswholes And its not like Amsterdamn is language to something super difficult, like WTF?! I don't think people realize that if your in another country like that you should try to represent America as something good and lol at they're reactions "FOUND IT"lol sounds like a typical american freakout

Now if you don't mind I am going to do some reading

Oh my so you've caught the Hunger Games fever. Once you got it its so hard to shake and it doesn't matter the age! This really is a big more for adults I actually think due to the subject matter, but its gotten the teenage persona thing around it because of the hot teens cast in the movie. Really its quite mature stuff, I mean children murdering other children!

I had not seen Catching Fire yet though I hear it was really good, and I guess you concur? And I have a feeling you will like the books better....don't get me wrong the movies were a great adaptation, but there were alot of things missing that I thought were kinda monumental in the book and I felt should have been included.

Jennifer I cannot get enough of her!!! She is perfect...so talented so beautiful! And so down to earth, she really doesnt' care what other people think about her. I remember an a-whole interviewer asked her "Katniss is pretty skinny in this role, do you feel you got too skinny" and she goes "what does my weight have to do with this? I'm pretty sure this movie is way more interesting than my weight" I was like you go girl

I was watching the news today and they were showing images of snowstorms over Minnesota, and temperatures of -38ºC (-36ºF)   . I hope things aren't so bad in your area.

Lol! Indeed And today I came home at 7 AM again...

And agreed, that's the best way to enjoy new year for me.

Oh boy do I, man did it get chilly it is NOT fun living in this weather...I miss shorts and flip flops SO BAD

I talked with my mother in northern Illinois and she said the snow is already hitting her area so I can only imagine how you guys are feeling at the moment I heard some reports of temps forecasted to be -50F in some areas. Put those flip flops on hold for now unless you want to be some daredevil (idiot) fighting against mother natures brutal frigid cold.

Any sight of the weather getting better anytime soon?

Hahaha! Many times I haven't slept at all  . But most of those times were because of studying/doing some work due the next day though. Like preparing a final exam once

I liked the movie! I like the science fiction genre, and I really liked the story in the movie. Now I have to see the second part, and read the books

I watched tv news yesterday where it was said that the perceptible temperature is -50 Celcius degrees it was pretty cute though when that one guy was interviewed, as he was one of the not so many ones seen outside of his house and said he got an e-mail his boss called off work for that day but since he already left the house he's going to the gym to work out a bit

The books are alot better IMO, movies are still good adaptations, there was alot though I was kinda missing from the book I thought were kinda important But in terms of book adaptations go its one of the best!

Merry Chirstmas,beautiful girl.

Merry Xmas to you too girl! I miss talking to you. How are things?

Everything is so fine and getting better,my family life,my work,my body even got better.

How are Leo and Garrn?

Thats good! Every girl deserves to be happy, and the only thing standing between you and being happy is your own attitude Definetly for a sweet one like yaself

And they are still together! They went to some GG after parties together...speaking of which

I WAS SO HAPPY WHEN HE WON! Being a leo fan you are constantly disapointed at these things...either he is snubbed or he looses. Its like hes constantly soooo good that its like no performance stands out So I think it helped him he was doing something that was totally not what he used to get reconized for, and thats comedy. So proud of my man

And F yes I loved Tinas line. And he just gave the thumbs up like "hell yeah thats right"

^ He sure does get an unproportionate amount of snubs considering all the work he has partaken in. Must be the fact that all the male audience is hating the fact he gets to screw all those models and thus the snubs

And oh jeez this pic below gave me a good smile and laugh...nothing but dirty thoughts, not sure why?
