I watched tv news yesterday where it was said that the perceptible temperature is -50 Celcius degrees it was pretty cute though when that one guy was interviewed, as he was one of the not so many ones seen outside of his house and said he got an e-mail his boss called off work for that day but since he already left the house he's going to the gym to work out a bit

Bahaha like I said above it was just god awful Now its warm outside...like literally two days ago it was bellow 0 and now its pouring rain, I dont' get it And I'm sorry I missed something with the last part, who was interviewed?

What's the name of the fantasy movie?  What's the plot?

Here's mine:  The year is 1921.  During one of the coldest winters, 4 talented sisters of a Swedish village use the darkness to become master fashion designers, and completely do a fashion makeover of the entire village!

These photographs almost make me want to go eat IKEA food and stock up non-perishables for the devastating Finnish/Swedish winter..!

^ He sure does get an unproportionate amount of snubs considering all the work he has partaken in. Must be the fact that all the male audience is hating the fact he gets to screw all those models and thus the snubs

And oh jeez this pic below gave me a good smile and laugh...nothing but dirty thoughts, not sure why?

Good thing it's getting "warmer" (or less cold would be more appropriate  ) over there!

Kind of  . Those times I wasn't really studying but working on songs due the next day. One time I wrote a song, recorded it and wrote the complete score of it all in one night

Well, in my experience the books are always better than the movie, so I wouldn't be surprised this is the case too. Nice to know it's a good adaptation though.

I spoke too soon, as its now getting cold again

And dammnn Its so crazy but I have respect so much for you and other people who just GET music..I almost failed music appreciation in 6th grade Like legit I am terrible...listening I'm good at

Usually they are, and IMO with the hunger games they are too, but still out of book-movie adaptations its one of the better ones out there

Just a random men on the street. One of the few who got out in that freezing weather

I liked GG's bit about George Clooney and "Gravity"

I liked that bit too also their stab at leo "Now like a supermodels vagina, give a warm welcome to Leonardo DiCaprio!!"

I loved Tina and Amy they were perfect! Though I think Tina Fey is overrated...I mean shes funny, but people act like shes the queen of comedy. I like Amy Poehler soo much better!

Good to know that! I'll read the books eventually, once I'm done with the one I'm reading now and another book that's in queue

Dear,

Saw it today........Liked it, but didn't live up to the book. I think those who didn't read the book will love it, but those who did read it, it will probably not live up to your expectations.

Overall though, good movie

If you talked to me a couple of weeks ago I would have shown no desire to watch it..and if you spoke to me a couple of days ago I would have told you that I hadn't watched any. However today that has all changed.

So I was at my friend's flat and she made a reference to The Hunger Games" Naively I wasn't aware of the franchise whatsoever. So naturally I was little lost, to which was clearly visible from the expression I was making (   )  She then asked if ever seen it. When I answered she looked shocked. (and slightly appalled   )  "Oh you gotta watch its great"

About a week ago I subscribed to Netflix and noticed that the first film was listed so I put it in my films to watch and did so two days ago.

I was utterly, utterly enthralled by it from start to finish. Don't think I have been that emotionally invested in a character and wrapped up in her story for a very long time. Jumping up and down, adrenaline pulsating through my body as Katiness and the other tributes get ready to battle in the arena and beating them up when she did whilst shouting at the telly.      The very next day I was in the cinema watching the second part of the tale. Although less shouting and jumping

Now its probably time to point out that I am 27 years old. After reading the last couple of paragraphs some may say I need to get out more and advocate that I should probably get a girlfriend.    Maybe they are right...but I can honestly say for that  2:30mins I was a kid again. Now in my view thats the effect ever film should have on you.

I have now decided to read the books - I know it probably should be the other way around but after hearing such praise about them I am really intrigued. Saying that I have never been a fan of adaptation of books to the motion picture. It almost always ruins it. When reading a book everyone has their own personal perception of the story and takes away different things from it.

However once that then gets put onto film that perception gets dented and you then perceive it how the filmmakers see

it    Same goes with music video and music artists. Thus never living up to your expectations

Anyway I thought you would like to know that I am a classic case of backing up your theory

P.S - Im definitely hungry for Jennifer Lawrence's game  :brows:

dcs1.png

Now if you don't mind I am going to do some reading

Oh my so you've caught the Hunger Games fever. Once you got it its so hard to shake and it doesn't matter the age! This really is a big more for adults I actually think due to the subject matter, but its gotten the teenage persona thing around it because of the hot teens cast in the movie. Really its quite mature stuff, I mean children murdering other children!

I had not seen Catching Fire yet though I hear it was really good, and I guess you concur? And I have a feeling you will like the books better....don't get me wrong the movies were a great adaptation, but there were alot of things missing that I thought were kinda monumental in the book and I felt should have been included.

Jennifer I cannot get enough of her!!! She is perfect...so talented so beautiful! And so down to earth, she really doesnt' care what other people think about her. I remember an a-whole interviewer asked her "Katniss is pretty skinny in this role, do you feel you got too skinny" and she goes "what does my weight have to do with this? I'm pretty sure this movie is way more interesting than my weight" I was like you go girl

Yeah, really love what  Jen stands up for. A breath of fresh air to the world of hollywood. Ironically she is leading her own rebellion with how actresses should conduct themselves etc etc you know?

So finished all three books in 8 days...pretty impressive when you think I been working 9-6pm too  Wasn't really suggesting that the book wasn't for adults. Was just point out the fact that how wrapped up I got with it all. On the contrary, Katniss's story delves into quite dark and relevant subjects such as   the horrors of war and the injustice of cruelty that, like it or not, is taking place all over the world. Mockingjay, the third book, that we all have to stand together. If you look past the violence, and actually see what Katniss goes through and what she's telling you, you'll see the core of this book is very anti-violence and anti-war. Katniss does go through struggles, particularly in the second book where she has nightmares about the games and has to have Peeta stay with her all night. War affects everyone, and no one is untouchable, not even the hero or heroine, but you can still make it through. Katniss did, by the end she finds peace, although there's a lot she must overcome. Loved the physiological aspect of it.

Anyway theres my two cents

Btw, thought your evaluation of the first movie was a little critically personally. I thought they covered the major moments and aspects. Although maybe a little more emphasis on the cave scene and how that developed their relationship wouldn't have gone a miss

Just curious what you felt it was lacking?

She definetly is And shes so humble about everything...too sweet

And yes good point the message is definetly anti-war. I mean its kids freaking fighting to the death that is definetly something terrible...But the book really focuses on how somebody can be the voice, STAND up....and that the biggest threat against the Capitol is really the people. And thats something that really seems prevelent in society and history....

And no I definetly agree they covered everything major and did a great adaptation of it DEFINETLY! Among book-movie adaptations of popular novels its one o fthe best....Just little things though  like how the mutated dogs in the first book had the eyes from the dead tributes, and there were some other little things I remember....but other than that covered it VERY nicely
