I wonder, though, if there's some 'generic' Bellazon member for whom that Top 10 does apply? Who agrees with all the results of all those polls? You should find out... (Then have him/her banned - we don't want that kind of basic person around here!!!).

TOP 10 COLOURS

1.

ORANGE - Orange is just the best! Honestly, orange rules! I can't think of another colour that makes me feel as happy as orange. I'm drawn to orange like red wine and the lonesome whine of a pedal-steel guitar...

2.

CELESTE - What's up with you people? You call this sky-blue? It's as different from blue as pink is from red - so give it it's due with a proper name. It kind of translates as 'heavenly', and it's the predominant colour in our flag. It's CELESTE. Use it!

3.

TURQUOISE - I mean, how cool is turquoise? I like to say it turk-warz, make it sound refined. You show it respect. Turk-warz. Repeat...

4.

PERIDOT - I don't know what you'd call this colour really. Peridot is the precious stone, and it's this sort of colour. It's a good looking stone too. And the colour of my perfect imaginary girlfriend's eyes.

5.

CHOCOLATE - So rich it makes you salivate. The colour of Behati's hair.

6.

CHARCOAL - Because, sometimes, black is just too black!

7.

SALMON - Mmmm. Salmon. And when candy is this colour, you know it's going to be the best bloody candy.

8.

CRIMSON - The colour of decadence. This is all ermine trimmed and plush drapes and thick carpets where all sorts of seedy role-play fun goes on. Crimson is proper regal naughty, none of your common kinks around here.

9.

MUSTARD - The Colonel! I had a t-shirt in this colour when I had my very first kiss. Her name was Julieta and she was beautiful. She liked my t-shirt too. Amazing what you remember... (Mind you, it was only last week).

10.

KHAKI - Hey? Where's the love for good old murky, not-quite-green, not-quite-brown, reminds you of something unpleasant, what is that?, probably smelly, grubby colour? Learn to love the khaki.

TOP 10 ARGENTINE FOODS

10.

QUILMES - I know this isn't strictly speaking food. But it's made of wheat, no? This is our national beer. It's not all that, but we don't get the wealth of choice like you get in the UK, or Belgium, for example. Better get used to it though, it's EVERYWHERE.

DULCE DE LECHE - This stuff's a national obsession. Most of our food has strong Italian roots, and so when we've invented something ourselves we go on (and on) about it! Dulce de leche was apparently invented by accident, and now this sweet runny caramel gets slathered on everything. If you have a sweet tooth you can have it on your pizza or your steak... Or if you're an idiot...

8.

FAINÁ - See, this is Italian really. It's a kind of bread, made with olive oil and chickpeas. We have it with pizza (quite often on top of a pizza - a caballo). I love it. You can get it jazzed up with onion and garlic. That stuff's the business.

7.

CHIMICHURRI - This is a condiment, and the nearest you'll get to anything spicy without BYO Tabasco. It's a paste of parsley, paprika, pepper, garlic, and onion - and you bung it on your steak. (Ultimately everything here is designed to bung on your steak).

YERBA MATE - Is our tea or coffee. It's pretty damn strong too. And all the students drink it to stay awake all night studying. There's a whole etiquette about serving it, like a Japanese tea ceremony... Just you might want to add some sugar your first time. And don't burn your tongue on the straw.

BIFE DE CHORIZO - Yes! Meat! World's largest consumer of beef. Country full of cows. Beef is the word... De Chorizo has nothing to do with the sausage, it's a sirloin steak. Kind of difficult to get done rare, everyone always wants to cook it well done, but simply the 2nd best...

BIFE DE LOMO - ... Because de lomo (or tenderloin) is the absloute best. 'Nuff said.

3.

FACTURAS - Don't really have breakfast per se. For most people it is coffee and cigarettes. But, being a feckless writer, I'm able to take my time a bit more of a morning. And so I take a constitutional to the cafe and have my cafe con leche and some of these sublime little bastards! You never know what you're going to get, but you're going to get three. And at least one of them will be slathered with dulce de leche...

2.

MALBEC, VINO TINTO - Ah. Red, red, wine... I wouldn't be here today without it. (Quite literally, as it's propping me up as I type). Malbec is our national grape - although it is originally French. But we do fine Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz too. But I'm going for Malbec, from Mendoza.

EMPANADAS - Woo-Hoo! Of course empanadas are Number 1. I empanadas. All of them. carne picante, carne suave, pollo, humita, queso y cebolla, pascualina, jamon y queso, roquefort, atun, verdura, capresse... I could wax lyrical about these pockets of fun - but essentially they are just pasties, or calzones of a sort. But, goddammit, they are ours. ¡Viva Argentina!

I had a feeling you were mixed, it seems those of mixed ethnicity tend to prefer others who are also mixed. You ever see a girl and say "man shes beautiful", not knowing what she is? Then later you find out shes half black or something? Then you say to yourself, "Of course she is."
