I thought by the time I got home they'd already be in the second round. In 2 hours they only went through 17 picks!

So Raptors picked, Delon Wright. Im watching the draft with my dad and that's what he predicted, my dads happy so ill take that as a good sign. Delon wasn't in attendance at the draft.

I've been told that there have been no trades yet at all in this draft.

I thought it was a faster process! Wow, they take their time.

^ so the first round just ended. It's 11 pm now lol. However, the reason it took so long in the first round is that in between picks, teams have five minutes to decide who they want. In the second round they only have 2 minutes to decide.

There has been one trade, however im not familiar with the names so it didn't stick with me, so I can't remember.

So I heard Jahlil Okafor got picked #3... I bet he thought he was going #2... That's what I thought... So instead of going to the Lakers Jahlil will be going to the Sixers. The Sixers are in horrible shape right now, they have 3 centres. Jahlil makes it 3 now. There's no structure there, pure disaster.

Kevon Looney, was in attendance tonight... Lucky for him he got picked in the last spot of the first round. Which is big, because there's a difference in money/contracts between round 1 and 2. Also, he gets to play with the Warriors. Sweet!

Oh, I thought the whole thing would be over by now

I had the idea the teams would have their decision taken before the actual draft. Well, having 5 minutes it does mean the decision is more or less already taken, but I had the idea it was more of like just the announcement. I'm feeling so ignorant about this now

So you predict yet another trash season for the Sixers?

Well, none of those names sound familiar haha. Once in a while there has been a college game on TV here, but it's quite rare.

^ haha no worries

The only thing teams know for certain is what draft pick number they have, that's decided like a month in advance.

it's only the number 1 pick who can for sure know who they are getting before the draft. For example this year the Timberwolves had number one. The other teams can decide who they want and more than likely they do a like 1-10 pick preference beforehand but they just have to wait and see whose available to be picked come draft night. They can have a preferred guy they want, but if the team before picked him then they gotta go to the next preferred guy.

Yeah I do, unless the Sixers smarten up soon and get their shit in order

Yes, of course... the 1st pick is the only one that can actually be picked before hand. It's basic logic, what was I thinking

By what you're saying thing aren't looking good for them this season. Again

They are currently on the 45th pick. I think there's like 15 picks left.

There was also a trade just now between Cleveland and Minnesota. Minnesota gets Tyus Jones and Cavs get I cant remember lol. It's hard because these guys I am not familiar with.

Haha no worries. I think you were probably thinking that all the teams discussed behind the scenes who they were picking and they all put their picks in a ballot and then they just announce it on TV later?

Actually the only players I could identify by face were Karl Anthony Towns and Jahlil Okafor... And it's only within the last week that I can put a name to the face. The other guys I'm just hearing about for the first time once they are picked.

Oh and I was aware of Frank Kaminsky and Porzingis... But that's it.

^ I'm hearing about them all for the first time

And I probably won't hear much about them for a while too. Since the first picks go to teams that didn't do well during the season, those teams usually don't have televised games over here.

Yes, probably something like that. Or just some stupid confusion inside my head

Ah that makes sense. So I guess you'll be seeing Kevon Looney because he got picked by the Warriors, but yes not a top pick... #30.

Do they still televise Lakers games? If so then you'll be seeing the #2 pick D'Angelo Russell. Lakers are such a big name even though they suck currently, and I remember you saying that they show a lot of their games there. Moreso than the Warriors, but I guess with the Warriors winning the championship they'll start playing their games more.

So Mavericks drafted Singh Bhamara... First player to be drafted from

India. There was an Indian guy on the Sacramento Kings but he wasn't drafted. I mean the league has a lot of international players from different countries, so it's nice to see them branch out even more.

That could be interesting!

I thought Vasquez was doing good for the Raptors. Well, let's hope the trade will be good for the team.

Hahaha yes, probably, but then he probably won't play that much. I guess this past season they televised a handful of Lakers games because they had some hope in them, thinking that Kobe was finally back, and maybe they thought Nash would play. Other than that I see little more reasons to televised those games over others. Well, even with these last awful season they're still a big name, which is a factor too.

I don't think this season will have many televised Lakers' games for us though.

I remember about the one that is in Sacramento. I think he didn't play this season though, right?

And yes! it's nice to see more international players in the league.

^ for Vasquez we get the Bucks future first round pick and a future second round pick, by what I'm reading... Analysts think the Raptors got the better deal.

Also Vasquez was our back up point guard.... We got Delon Wright (point guard) in the draft...

Not sure if that Sacramento guy played this season, all I know is that on NBA inside stuff, this season, they had a feature on him... That's how I even became aware of his existence.

^ Thanks for the article! So according to that the Raptors got the best part of the deal. Hopefully the'll have a better run at the playoffs this season.

I remember some article too about the guy in Sacramento, that's how I became aware too . But actually I think I've never seen a King's game  . They're always like at the bottom of the table and without notorious players so we don't have televised games of them here.

^ I don't know what to expect from the Raptors. Early in the season when Raptors we're number 1 in the East, I was even thinking it a tiny possibility we could win the championship (key word tiny )... even ESPN or whatever was saying there's like a 30% chance of it happening. But the Raptors peaked to Early... I would have never thought we'd get swept in the playoffs. WTH was that lol
