It was 104 degrees almost every day here last month and now 100 suddenly feels like a relief . It seems hotter to me in the city than the country for some reason. Maybe the cleaner air makes it seem fresher and cooler. The next time it rains though, I might just run out there with all my clothes on dancing in it . Its 90 degrees now and feels like pure bliss !

Hey Joey, thanks for droppin in!

It´s aways hotter in the cities - because of the concrete all around. At least here it is. Do you have temperatures like this all the time?

^There are many a tale of the origins of the Tango, and some even dare to suggest that it's more French than Argentine?!?! It did originate there, of a fashion; but the fact that the participants do not look at each other belongs to the idea that, as newly arrived immigrants to our shores, you danced with whomever you could - and imagined that they were your love from back home...

And my British side. I wonder, have you ever seen The Wicker Man (the original - this I cannot express strongly enough! :| ). It's a superb horror that deals with old British folklore. And is somewhat unique in that pretty much all the 'scares' happen in daylight:

I haven´t seen it, but I must for sure, I love these kind of films!!

As far as I´ve read, tango originates in Argentina and there has always been it´s clearest form as well. That not looking at each other thing is really I find dance amazing, however I was never able to do classic dance, but I love love love watching people dancing, like Coco in my set, it´s so... full of freedom and love

ok by cabin standards thats STUNNING, we used to do that with our Family when we were growing up, like once a year we call got together and got some cabins, hiked, eat, and just had FUN, very good memories for me

We never did it when I was young, and I so enjoy it now... I wanna do the same with my kids, learn them everything about nature and living in it, take them hiking and so

do you do it now? With Hanna and hubby?

After

will DO babe, will post them here

can´t wait

This is very impressive and professional, Jennka. Is your boyfriend a carpenter?

No, he´s coachsmith one of our friends is a carpenter, and all the other are handy in different areas - one works in woods, so he knows everything about it, another one is great with stones and chimneys, another one is engineer... and so on. But all in all, they do know more than a bit from everything. And this is the result.

I've never known a non-professional who can build a house from scratch! All of it sounds quite daunting.

Seriously? I myself know at least two. Many people here decide to build their houses by their own hands especially those who are not that wealthy. In the villages it was common for people to build their houses by their own hands. They were normal people, no architects, no engineers, they were village people. Skillfull and handy I think this is how it is in villages mostly, all over the world. Not in cities, of course.

My fl´s uncle has built two houses from the scratch - he runned from home because of his always drunk father, lived in the woods, worked in the woods, made money, built houses. He´s one of the most interesting and skillfull people I´ve ever met. And he´s originally a butcher.

It is commonplace for people out in the outskirts (or rather villages) that they are cappable of building their own houses and that they are very handy in general. The city people, on the contrary, not. It´s more rare here that someone is capable to build something by his own. In cities, only rich people have houses (or those who inherited) and mostly people live in flats, and in the villages it´s the other way round, which is logical.

What a nice utopia I think people get ill from money - mentally ill. They somehow seem to forget what is really worthy, and important. They tend to forget about the nature and respect for it, and about the other people and respect for them too.

So the previous generation has a lot of carpentry skills, and they pass it on their kids? That's quite something.

In the suburbs and exurbs around here- people buy houses and are incapable of building them. We are so unskilled that we haven't mowed our own lawns in twenty years- we hire outside help for that sort of thing, ha ha.

..

I bookmarked this a long time ago since I found it rather close to my formulative experiences:

I'll comment more later on this culture, its legacy, and its idiosyncrasies, (too tired right now...)

This was a record year, though they say the winter will be extra cold . I'm looking forward to that though . I'm just starting to love taking pictures and I know it should give me some great material.

Yes, it indeed does - I love watching videos with models in it - mostly they look different, more... human, and more beautiful
