Gosh, she is perfect! It always amazes me how "anime" can they look... so envy of them. I just can´t understand some asian girls wanting to look european... it´s gross. Only wanting would not be bad - we are never satisfied with the way we do look - but some go even further, having altered their looks by doctors... which I find really sad.

I have seen the trailer in cinema when we went to watch Rio, and I was like I didn´t know whether to laugh or cry but I have always loved Jim Carrey so... but no, not going to the cinema for this one

Eyelid surgery is very common in South Korea and among the Asian American people. From what I know, beauty in Asia does mirror the Western standard slightly- East Asians like to have longer noses, double eyelids, whiter skin, and more moderate cheekbones. Caucasian people are often used in advertisements. (unlike in in the West) There are specialist plastic surgeons that specialize in Asian surgeries.

Outside of Japan and cosmopolitan areas like Shanghai, the desired consensus was not always that way-particularly in ancient history. I think some of the Western influences that eventually settled in beauty consensus came from marketing of Western consumer discretionary and media starting from the reconstitution of global trade after the second world war.

It seems to me that equally skilled caucasian men and women are actually valued at a small premium at client facing service jobs for "exotic/prestige value' in certain parts of Asia. ie. Waiter/Waitress, Airline attendant, certain types of sales, etc.
