Yeahhe´s the dirty boy
we were knocking down the old chimney so we can build up a new one and we all looked like that
When you meet builders that love their work, it´s really something. There are many building companies here, but it´s not very common to come across REAL profi workers who love their work and have moderate prices. We had luck we´ve come across a bunch of men who knew their work very well and we have learnt many things from them.
But yes, the satisfaction once the job is done is amazing. You look at something you have built by your own hands and feel such a pride. Gorgeous.
Oh yeah, you're very lucky that you have good help ![]()

I´m a lucky girl
I wish I could live there. But there is no work for us there... too many complications ![]()

You know Jennks, I forgot to say thanks for the fact that even though SlovakJenklandia has so many models for a small place you never made much use of the dreaded 'every girl here' phrase that people from some places seem to frequent.
You mean the phrase "every girl here is beautiful" or which one?
hehehe, that would actually be better than what I mean
. Oh, I also meant to say thanks to veronika too because czech republic has a lot of models and she doesn't do that either. But I mean moreso the wait to see people raving about a model to break out the 'she's just average here' with the implication of 'you guys just aren't used to anything' bit
. Its interresting on different levels. One is the condescending nature at face value, but then on the other hand there are so many people and such a range of tastes within each country that there are people with a common look in their country who are raved about by people in their own country who are no different than someone raving from another country, they're just people from different places who like the same thing. One interresting example (if its still there) is I think in the beginning of Valetina's thread on tfs a Russian girl says, "she's just average here, Eugenia is the real Russian beauty." But then it could be a tourist ploy, and though I haven't been to Russia and am not really a huge fan of Valentina, it seems to me every pagent girl, singer, gymist ect. over there doesn't look like her unless the everyday people look better than the celebs
?

Oooh I get it know, you mean like "pheeew every average girl here looks like "insert a models name".
dunno Joe, does the everyday people in your place look like celebs?
I guess they do, just with few make up on and with less money ![]()
but I think I would never call a Slovak model "average" here in Slovakia... of course there are many wonderful women here, just as anywhere in the world, but that doesn´t mean beauty has become average for me. Everytime I see a beautiful girl, I enjoy the view, no matter if she´s a model, singer, actress, or just a passer-by on the street.
But then again... it´s a taste. Average for someone is unique for the other. And Russia is such an enormously HUGE country... I guess yes, maybe Valentina´s look is quite average there and maybe not. Look, would you call Gisele an "unique beauty"? And still, she seems to be the best paid model in the world and last of the supermodels
it´s an atittude, after all.
Hm, sorry, getting confused by my own words
this is a complicated theme ![]()
But, admiring someone´s beauty doesn´t mean the man "is not used to this" (meaning - don´t you have any beautiful girls in your country?) it´s a snobery after all, to say something like this. Isn´t it?
BUT (again
) I´m still proud when someone says Slovak women are beautiful. The hell I am ![]()

I <3 Russian models..
There is a small "Russian" area in Brighton Beach/Coney Island "Little Odessa" in New York city featuring a lot of oddly dressed middle aged to elderly women. Never got the impression that it's loaded with beauties.
It's not a great neighborhood ( restaurants
). I've heard that the Russian club scene, St. Petersburg and other cities have a lot of unusually attractive people.

BUT (again) I´m still proud when someone says Slovak women are beautiful. The hell I am

They probably are, though? ![]()
Btw, Jennka, I meant to say this earlier: your bf looks like a Russian army (junior leader of some sort) stock character from Russian war film. ![]()

Yeah, I guess its relative, but then I think some get carried away at the same time. Of course even though I haven't been to Russia and am not a big fan of Valentina I still doubt she's average there or else they'd win Miss Universe like every year
plus of all the many famous Russian women she seems to be most widly admired for her beauty. As for America though, without makeup I think Brooklyn's face is average, but I blink when I hear someone say she's average in general as to infer most woman here is 5'11 with a flat stomach and curves
. But then somoene like Kristen Stewart to me on the otherhand seems average all around, but if someone else appreciates her look I won't rain on their parade. Slovakia does seem to have a lot of beauty though
, even despite that scary socialite and or pagent woman you showed me that time ![]()
.

^Coincidentally I just watched the film Adventureland this weekend and, not being the least bit interested in that Twilight twaddle, it was really the first time I'd ever seen her properly in anything (barring 'tweeny' roles). I have to say I actually found her quite charming, which I wasn't expecting! I'm not saying I have major crush on her - but she's cuter than I've ever given her credit for up in my ivory tower! As for America though, without makeup I think Brooklyn's face is average, but I blink when I hear someone say she's average in general as to infer most woman here is 5'11 with a flat stomach and curves. Preferable to Brooklyn to boot!

Tss tsss Kristen Stewart is a BEAUTY
, dont pretend you're not attracted to her (actually you're not). It's always funny and odd when people say she's not beautiful, even though its relative of course.....
... Ok let's just say I like her looks, especially her eyes.

^It's a quirky beauty - she looks positively awkward throughout that movie (and, actually, whenever I've seen her at awards shows and the like). But yeah, I know where you're coming from with those eyes...... Ok let's just say I like her looks, especially her eyes.

Well, a reasonable amount of people are just attractive or good looking. Unusually attractive to me is especially sharp, ie. model attractive- tall, unusually fine bone structure, etc. that one would normally rarely encounter.
Ivan?!
So Russians do tend to look different from Slovakian people?

Slovakia has only 5.3 million people and lies in the center of Poland, Czech, Austria, Hungary, and the Ukraine. What would you say that Slovakian people look more like (which of these)? I can grasp the differences between groups in North/West/Southern Europe & East Asia/Southeast Asia but Eastern European people confuse me in general. I see an EE last name and I can't guess where they're from.

Anna V., (Russian) for instance, can pass for anything in my opinion. She could be German or a random American or Swedish.

^No she does look a little russian.
But I agree its hard to tell, thats why I like Europe so much in a way.
When I think "russian" I always picture Natalia Vodianova, that ex president and a teacher I had with light blue eyes (he was russian) looool.
I'm familiar with the german though because I used to see everyday. And its even more complicated when they are from mixed heritage ![]()

^
I usually think of Russians as having larger cheekbones, wider faces, & softer faces (esp. noses) than Germans or Anglo-Americans in general. Models and celebrities also tend to have bigger cheekbones & wider set eyes than the median person. Russia, however, is very multinational and has 140 million people.
A lot of countries in EE have very small to small populations- just like in Northern Europe. In Asia, the measurements are often up to 30 million, 50 million, 100 million, 200 million people, etc. per ethnic group!

I'm not a fan of Brooklyn either, though I must admit her coming out of the water in that "Just Go With It" is the most impressive thing from the two for me so far on the visual side
. The only thing I've seen Kristen in is Twilight, Runaways movie and many interviews and red carpet type things. I must admit I almost never change my mind about looks of a person I've seen many times, but I routinely change my mind about how much I appreciate said looks or overall appeal if that makes sense
. In the realm of famous people this is probably to the advantage of actresses the most since I love movies so pretty much anyone is just a role away
.

Well, I wouldn't say she's not beautiful that's different from 'average' (which is in a way also subjective because no two people except identical twins actually look alike so its hard to factually say average) since beauty is what we make it (or interpret) whatever it might be. I know someone that thinks the sunrise is an eyesore and of course even though I'm trying to cut back, to me a crispy cream donut fresh out of the oven with the smoke rising is beautiful indeed
.

I think Brooklyn looks so...basic. Not body-wise of course, but I don't find anything striking about her face and her short hair just made her even more unappealing to me.
Kristen Stewart is not drop-dead gorgeous, but her awkwardness definitely takes away from seeing her as pretty. I think she's got great eyes and quite long legs for her height. Wouldn't call her a style icon but I liked some of her red carpet looks... But definitely her awkwardness and lack of showing emotions on her face makes her to be viewed as Bella Swan/bad actress.
Cult Icon you're not from Europe so you probably don't see it, but I can recognize, almost 100% whether sb I'm passing by on a street here or abroad is Russian or German or Italian or Spanish etc.... I usually guess right even before I hear them speak
it's hard to explain how you recognize these nationalities, to me it's more about feeling intuitively...

hello Layla,
I think Brookyln is a stock character for "that tall pretty blonde girl" that gets a lot of attention at parties from a broad spectrum of different social circles. Kristen Stewart has an above average face and a normal woman's physique. ![]()

I can broadly recognize most major nationalities except those from EE, Middle East, South America, and Africa. I generally go by remembering faces- I have certain "mental pictures" of people from various nationalities. It's interesting- I mean, what you say about the intuitive w/o speaking part. I can spot Germans from German-Americans (biggest nationality in USA) very easy. Style of dress & mannerisms. Second or third generation nationals from other countries are also very easy to differentiate due to their "Americanization".
There are several hundred thousand Poles in New York area. They like to hang out at Lakes and the wilderness a lot on weekends & in large groups. Swimming, boating, hiking, etc. It's weird for me to say this, but they seem to be noticeably "big boned" people. Strong bodies :-)

I've come back for you
for just today
