I know what you mean. I've recently moved house. We lived in the previous house for only three years but during that time we were constantly working on it, indeed we had to rush some of the work in order to get the house in a fit state to sell. Most of the momentum for this comes from my partner, I'm not house proud, I would live anywhere really as long as she was with me. Of course with the new house we've started all over again.

That´s exactly IT it´s never "finished", there is always plenty of work to do and it´s amazing of you, I´m the same with fl - I would live anywhere with him

are there some serious reconstructing works needed to be done?

Well, the electrical wiring needed updating, we also needed to install a gas supply and after that gas heating. Big jobs but all done by experts (other people ) and all finished now. We just have to patch up all the holes they've left behind <_< and paint everywhere.

This thread certainly moves quickly. I don't log on for a week and three pages worth of posts slip by.

Hope you're having a good Monday.

A rainy one but other than that it´s fine, I just can´t wait to go home from work.

Oh, week is long enough I love when it´s lively here

now that the big jobs are done, it will be only better how about furniture?

We have too much. We moved from a larger house. One armchair lives in the garage covered in plastic along with three or four smaller items for the moment. In a year or two we may extend the house to give us some more room.

Oh, and I hate to say this but it's very bright and sunny here today.

This conversation actually brings up a lot of old memories, Jennka :->

I know what you mean - in one way I´ve always wanted to visit a psychologist - out of pure curiosity. I wanted to learn something from him, something about people and their nature, and something about psychologist generally I have no idea how such a visit would end up - I automatically analyze anyone I meet (how they move, how they laugh, talk, smell, look at you, their gestures and overall look) - I think I would be pretty shocked if I myself was being analyzed

I know! In life, people tend to kind of do things and experience aftereffects- good or ill. Then adapt. Do other things. etc. It can be very costly. People get confused and run into a brick wall sometimes..

The main skill that psychologists and social workers have is their deep understanding of the human mind- how the brain works- chemically, how people develop, and how habits/environments can mold people.

I was 20 years old when I did this, but it was probably one of the most important things I've ever done in my life because it helped me "unravel" the stages of my childhood development and why I possessed the character/value system that I had. I initially did 26 sections with a social worker. She kept in contact with the psychologist the whole time and & passed forward information. She took many notes and it was pretty active process. So by the time I sat down with the psychologist for the final 2 sessions, he already had some sort of theoretical "model" so to speak of my life and my mind. What they did was to help me break down myself into manageable, understandable chunks. Control is power, and really understanding oneself is that power.

I was motivated to do this because of a few things:

- I had become more and more "brooding" and in deep thought due to several recent experiences I had:

1. I felt that my university and education process was contaminated by special interests- the investment banks, in particular.

2. I had been selected by a politically connected classmate as "his lieutenant", so to speak- he introduced me to local NYC political society (liberal Democratic party) and after a few months of accompanying him to various events, parties, and political jobs, I broke off the lifestyle. I was disturbed by the corruption I saw and it made me feel rather unwell.

3. I tended to see the world differently than most in general. My friends growing up were aspiring lawyers and bankers so our interests were directed towards that area.

4. I was in my first real relationship, and our relationship was at its emotional peak- I was emotionally inexperienced of course and all of it was kind of overwhelming & confusing.

The other issue with me is, I never speak about the serious troubles that bother me until I solve them out. I only speak about them to the only person it contains, if there is one. If I have troubles with fl, I only speak about them to him - to no one else, nor my mother, not his mother, not my best friends. (not speaking about silly little things like "he doesn

Because you're not Sasha Knezevic? I didn't know you like her, Cult Icon. It looks like you prefer blonde models, but I thought Anja wasn't on your 'list' of favourites...?

Wow, you remembered!

Yes, she isn't!

You know that stuff going on in that Leonardo Dicaprio thread? I think Leo knows that he should never marry. Because if he marries, he loses...a certain something...for the women who adore him. So if he does, he is no longer their idol. :-p

It's the same with women, imho- just considerably less, of course

I like Anja but not as much as some the others like Lara Stone. And you're right, I do have a scandinavian /Baltic (and Brazilian) bias

Yes, I did... and I don't know why I remember such details easily

So why did you wonder why she didn't marry you?

I don't know, I don't visit his thread but I've 'heard' his fans are crazy? It's like "Twilight" obsession for some of them I guess, and I have no idea why. Leo is loooong past his prime, physically. I'm sorry, but he looks like a coach potato I'm not expecting him to have a 6-pack but considering he's under 40.... he should take better care of himself. Or maybe he thinks dating attractive women takes the attention away from him? I admit, he's a very good actor but he's not a good-looking man; also, there's something in him that makes me think his personality isn't the best... but kudos for him for his environmental charity

By extending the house you mean rebuilding it - rather build out - to a bigger one?
