I know! In life, people tend to kind of do things and experience aftereffects- good or ill. Then adapt. Do other things. etc. It can be very costly. People get confused and run into a brick wall sometimes..

The main skill that psychologists and social workers have is their deep understanding of the human mind- how the brain works- chemically, how people develop, and how habits/environments can mold people.

I was 20 years old when I did this, but it was probably one of the most important things I've ever done in my life because it helped me "unravel" the stages of my childhood development and why I possessed the character/value system that I had. I initially did 26 sections with a social worker. She kept in contact with the psychologist the whole time and & passed forward information. She took many notes and it was pretty active process. So by the time I sat down with the psychologist for the final 2 sessions, he already had some sort of theoretical "model" so to speak of my life and my mind. What they did was to help me break down myself into manageable, understandable chunks. Control is power, and really understanding oneself is that power.

I was motivated to do this because of a few things:

- I had become more and more "brooding" and in deep thought due to several recent experiences I had:

1. I felt that my university and education process was contaminated by special interests- the investment banks, in particular.

2. I had been selected by a politically connected classmate as "his lieutenant", so to speak- he introduced me to local NYC political society (liberal Democratic party) and after a few months of accompanying him to various events, parties, and political jobs, I broke off the lifestyle. I was disturbed by the corruption I saw and it made me feel rather unwell.

3. I tended to see the world differently than most in general. My friends growing up were aspiring lawyers and bankers so our interests were directed towards that area.

4. I was in my first real relationship, and our relationship was at its emotional peak- I was emotionally inexperienced of course and all of it was kind of overwhelming & confusing.

As long as it helped you, it´s great. Mine process of understanding (whether it´s me or anyone or anything else) has always been constructed of long observation of the object and thinking, reanalyzing, talking about it with others (in such a way they did not know who or what or why is discussed) and then again thinking and observation it´s an automatical process in my mind, mostly I don´t even know I´m doing it... then just something pops out, mostly emotion I have to connect with words (sometimes it takes month to find the right word). It´s neverending process, one cannot put the other in some box with a label on it... people facing different situations, their actual mood, their mental strength, and many other factors make it impossible

Only generally they do act like they are following some international pattern/scheme. When you cut them in pieces... it all gets oh so complicated. Mostly I only manage to feel them, but can´t really analyze them into words

Yeah, you also brought up a memory of mine... father always kept us away from politics and "high society" in which he daily lived - I got to understand later how grateful I am for this manner of his. I´ve never understood such a life, but we are all "cut" for a different things. My sister can´t understand how - and especially WHY - do I manage my trips to woods, mountains, sleeping anywhere and even enjoying it. I, on the other hand, can´t understand what the hell can she do for three hours in a shopping center I mostly start to have headache after 15 minutes there only exceptions are bookstores.

I try to say what's on my mind as soon as I think it. I think it helps, because it improves understanding and communication. But you're right though- it's only possible to really do it when you're alone with someone.

The right moment ic crucial too Nowadays I try to talk more, although I´m more used to think than talk. Of course, when I´m drunk, it´s the other way round

We have too much. We moved from a larger house. One armchair lives in the garage covered in plastic along with three or four smaller items for the moment. In a year or two we may extend the house to give us some more room.

Oh, and I hate to say this but it's very bright and sunny here today.

By extending the house you mean rebuilding it - rather build out - to a bigger one?

Yes, exactly.

oh, you <_< it´s sunny now here as well

I think it's going to rain here soon. Still hot but very cloudy. (Very English of me, talking about the weather. )

Wow! An amazing portrait! Reminds me a little of Natalie Imbruglia, nicer though.

yeah, does a little and this one is just... oh my

aljeandra.JPG

A little too much eye make up for me. I prefer a more natural look, as in the previous picture. (I wonder if that's a guy/girl thing? I other words, in general, do guys tend to prefer a more natural look than girls or is that just you and me?)

and the kitties are a little bit bigger

Cats shouldn't be allowed to congregate in groups of more than two. It's too much cuteness

The house is looking great too (Y)

I don´t know as for me, I much prefer natural look - I myself never wear make up nor mascara, I´m allergic to such things. Year ago I even stopped dying my hair... and I love natural looking girls.

BUT I can also enjoy a good make-up on a woman - but mostly on pictures, it´s like art for me, like a painting. In real life... I prefer natural look on everyone.

As for guys I know... dunno, my fl, after almost 4 years of dating me is used to NO make up at all and he seems to dislike make up on girls more and more my men friends keep telling me they love natural beauty, but when a pretty girl has a normal, nice and not very screaming make up, they don´t mind it at all.

Oh, and the few women friends I have, they all love to wear make up (some exceptions are there, of course) - they say they can´t go out without it bulshit, if you ask me

How it´s there with you and your surrounding?

^ he'll probably disagee but she looks better as a brunette (or a very dark blonde, I can't really recognize the colour from the first picture)

Jennka, 2 days ago there was "Focus on models" on fashion TV with Michaela Kocianova, I didn't know she has such an annoying accent

Maybe you won't find it strange? I don't know, but to me, at first her accent was ok and then she kind of 'widened' words, if you get what I mean.
