thoughts on the above list.

If we are going to list particular names that constitute name calling, maybe we should list them all. We can't just say "the whole 'gay' thing" because not everyone knows what that is. Bashing comes down to attacking a person rather than their challenging their idea or disagreeing with respect. I think we can write the warning more genericly and positively.

Once this list is published are we going to warn on the first offense of thumbnailed nudity, unwarned nudity, etc?

Posting of offensive material happens alot in the "funny pictures" thread. Shall we do some crackin' down in there? I wouldn't mind.

Also, will Admin/Mods be responsible for handing out warnings to each other or should they have the balls to do it themselves if they can't control themselves enough to follow these rules? How is this going to be done since it obviously isn't happening now.

If nobody comments with their input NOTHING IS GOING TO GET DONE. For fucks sake people. <_<

I would be for that...pinned at the top of each applicable section Models, Actresses, Actors, etc.

hmm, i dont think we should list out the names mostly because it will probably be too long and/or we'll certainly forget something, so maybe something more generic was jimmy said.

once the list is posted...then yeah, I dont have a problem warning someone on a first offense. I mean if it's listed in the rules AND listed as a warn-able offense I find it hard to believe that anyone could overlook it.

I'd also like hotlinking to be a warned offense. It doesnt have to be a first time warn but people who repeatedly hotlink after you tell them not to really grate me. Spanish Eyes was one of these people. ugh. Hmmm but then again that could fall under Warn #6. OK nevermind As long as we get 'em some way I'm happy

I rarely go into the funny pictures thread but uhhh sure?

We can do it ourselves I guess. But that still doesnt fix the problem I mentioned a couple of days ago, which is that ALL admins and mods should be held accountable for their actions not just all but one. And the person who should've addressed that (AHEM JAMES!), failed to do so even though he knew I was talking about him. I mean I just don't think it's fair that 4 admins can wrack up warnings that could signal that they need to be de-adminned while one such Marduk can wrack them up and never have to really worry because he won't be penalized in the end. Makes the warnings pretty meaningless imo.

on a completely unrelated note, I think that emoticon additions should be brought up here before they're added, just so that we know as a staff.

I find that 2nd drooling emoticon repulsive haha.

I can start that thread if you guys want.

(Y)

Warning Offenses

1. Bashing or calling people names. The whole "gay" thing, calling someone a cunt, etc

2. Posting nudity as a thumbnail or image.

3. Posting nudity without a warning

4. Acting like an asshole. Edit: Being a malicous asshole. i.e. "i know more than you do because i am this and this and this and couldn't give a coherent argument to save my life"

5. Posting offensive material. I.E. porn, graphic violence (mutlitated animals, that sort of thing).

6. Repeatedly doing things after a staff member has asked them several times not to do it.

Pretty much anything in the rules. I haven't warned anyone yet, but once we get this list finalized I'm going to starting handing them out.

Well that was just personal thoughts, but if we were going to post it so all members could see, probably name-calling in general. Maybe list examples such as "cunt" or other things I've seen thrown around at people. Bashing and another word I just blanked on. Not argumentative. It'll come to me, but basically being disrespectful. Once I can remember what the thought was I'll come back with it.

I think with the nudity, they get one shot without a warning. We just edit it and go "hey, you ned to do whatever with this". but if it happens a second time, then we bust out the warnings.

As for the warning admins/mods, I think we should all be able to be responsible for ourselves. But that's probably pushing it.

I just thought of something else that could be a warning offense. Ignoring what a mod/admin tells you, or rediting a post after they've removed something. Such as if they post nudity and we change it, then change it back. Or if we remove images, they put them back.

One opinion I will share (Since im pretty sure my stance on playboy is pretty clear) is I do not think sections should be divided up as in you mod this area ill mod that area. I belive that its inconvenient if a) the mod has exams or vacation and cant tend to an area and is unable to tell the other admins/mods. b) These are not paying positions it would be unfair to someone to get a shitty area, as opposed to another person getting a better one.c) I dont think we should force people to visit threads to that they wouldnt normaly go to, I think if you visit a thread and somethings wrong or bashing, go ahead and fix it. If it slips through the cracks oh well, im sure if its bashing someone will bring it to our attention rather quickly.

Anyways that was my rant.

We should add something on to that "report" button post. How if you see bashing, or something that mods miss, hit that button and say "hey this post has something in it" since that's what it's for.

i find it inconvenient to be expected to take care of all the sections on this forum. but i like part C of your statement. that's basically how i've been moderating since january because i got sick of being diligent

btw, i have to say one thing that REALLY annoys me...when admins make statements about moderating when they actually dont do much moderating themselves. What i mean by that is assuming that a moderator feels this way or that way or what the "workload" is like for a mod. Even though technically admins can (and do) moderate as well, i notice y'all dont moderate too much, which is fine, thats why we're here. It just annoys me when i hear something like "oh we were fine with just two moderators." How would you know when you're not the one busting your ass doing a damn thing? Yeah taha, i'm talking to you! :trout:

This is actually a good point, IMO. Since it IS the responsibility of the Moderators to "moderate" the forum, they should be able to determine both how many mods are needed and if the board will be better served if the duties are divided or not. Admins, while can and do sometimes perform mod duties (albeit sporatically), it is not their primary function. I guess this then leads to the determination of staff duties.

All IMNSHO of course.

as you said, you moderate less than me and Qball, maybe less than ashley at this point,(i wouldnt know i dont have access to the mod tasks) but what i'm saying is exactly that...if you dont moderate much, then how would you know if we need more moderators or not? so basically i'm nicely telling you to shut up since you dont know
