Green is a better color.

The pretty blue shade of our names of course.
Indeed ![]()

Allright attention everyone.
It seems as if that everyone was concerned about the fact that we have had too many admins come into play on the forum. So the resolution that has been drawn up consists of cutting back on the admins. Some of the early admins got together earlier today...well minus Capt cuz he was a butt and wasnt online...but anyways what our proposal that we all agreed on was that
1. Avadakedavra was brought temporarily onto our staff for the purpose of creating skins because she has great talent in that area. Those skins got delayed over time and on Feb. 22nd she was made official admin without any consent from all the staff. Time went on skins got delayed more and more....we have decided to take things back to the way they initially were.
Avadakedavra has shown good work over time so she will become an official moderator who will have invisible admin status until her responsibility for the skins is complete.
2. Jimmy Changa was brought onto the staff for his expertise in certain areas of the code work and such other html things....anyways Jimmy we love ya bud...but we're gonna make you invisible again so that ur only special to us and not the members!
3. Heres the tricky one. Spark....the boys been missing for over two years now....he's obviously not going to come back.....but justttt incase we're also gonna make him invisible so that if he ever decides to come back he can acess Area 51 and the ACP and reinstate himself as Root Admin.
Well thats all....comments are welcome.

remove spark from admin

Isn't BZ the brainchild of both Marduk AND Spark? Seems kind of fucked up to just completely remove him.

Well if he ever comes back (doubtfull) and he is willing to help out with admin/mod duties he can be reinstated, until then I think its a security risk, for whatever reason he could log in an delete everything. I prefer admin/mod status on people we know are active just incase there accounts get compromised.

done

You OKed it. Therefore that's a yes.But fine. 5 yea, 1 nay, 2 indifferent. Happy?
Well since most people seem to be in favor (and for those of you who didn't say anything, I say: you smell
) I am going to post an announcement letting people know that we're going to change the size in a couple of days. And that if they want to stick with avatars that are small than 150x150, that they should re-upload them and specify that the width and height here:
so that they don't appear stretched and fugly.
Anyone opposed to my posting an announcement, let me know. In the meantime I'll be writing it up ![]()

On July 21st, the maximum size for avatars will be changed to 150x150.There

yep

aaand done.

So much happens when I have to go out of town for work.
My vote against that avatar size change would have done no good anyway. When people lack creativity...give them more canvass. ![]()

I would like to keep the admin title, not just the duties of such. Here is why...
Website traffic:
Currently, I have close to 70 domains that have links to BZ. Many of these sites have nice google PRs (3/4) and 100+ uniques/day (a couple 200-300). I've been working on these domains for the past several months and they currently bring a great deal of traffic to BZ. James can verify if he wants to dig in the stats and compare it to my list of domains.
Anyway, I consider these sites somewhat of a unspoken partnership with BZ seeing as I link several of them in my sig. I usually rotate them through and get a pretty decent amount of clicks from here. It is my opinion that my status as Admin gives me an appearance of credibility and leads people to checking out my sig sites more often. Also, when visitors come from my own domains, they feel a sense of consistancy seeing me as an Admin here.
I am more than capable and willing to do the work of admin here. Though I don't live on BZ, I am here at least 5 days a week, usually more. If you guys are willing to keep me able to do the work, and I'm sure I will be expected to do so, there is absolutely no reason to not have the title. Most all of the forums I go to have several admin and mods, usually comperable with the size of the site. BZ is a high traffic forum so it's perfectly reasonable to have the staff to support it. Keep in mind that even though we think we are so many, there are times when none of us are here.

allright well you bring up a valid argument
however if that is the case....now before i say it i realize that you have tons of other things to do in your day...however we would like it if you could step up the admin tasks...the logged kind

yes, the logged kind... I might have to advertise to get people to ask me for things. ![]()

:morning:

My only thought on the entire thing is as long as things are even, it won't bug me what's done. But that's my OCD kicking in. Do whatever and let me know what's decided.

Do whatever.
As long as there's not 20 admin and 5 mods, I'm fine.
Apparently I am the only one who feels uneasy about the path this has taken. I had written up some stuff, which pretty much brings together exactly what I think, but I am scaling it back quite a bit because...well actually I don't fully know why I just don't tell you people what I think, but I'm not gonna for the moment.
Firstly, removing two Admins, Jimmy has solid reasoning for why he should stay on, so I won't discuss that any further. However I will discuss Avada momentarily, but not before I bring up what you guys just did to Nicole, which I don't think anyone even really realized, which is part of the larger problem.
The fact that you put forth that she should become an Admin Ronin, is great, but the fact that you buckled so fast in support for that, isn't so great. In terms of her ability to add to this staff, especially in the form of decision making, using the excuse that we have too many Admins for her to become one, doesn't cut it.
If that be the case, then I suggest that one of you Admins step aside and make way for her, because giving her that "There are too many Admins already" line, when we have the people we have now as Admins barely able to give contsructive opinion when it's needed, is like a slap in the face to her.
Yeah, she can do all of that as a moderator, but it's principle now, it's been thrown out there that she'd make a good Admin. If there is a limited number of spaces to fill, well then she sure as hell deserves one of those spots, now that it's been pointed out, unanimously that one of them should be hers. If that means, that someone has to step aside and become a moderator if another slot can't be provided for her, then so be it.
Onto Meghan, nothing more needs to be said than what I have said above really. Being an Admin is not about the number of tasks you have performed, it comes down to how well you can discuss, and solve problems in here, that is more important. All of you guys who barely input anything when a situation arises, are capable of doing moderation tasks, but what you fail to bring to the table is an ability to rectify problems through discussion, which Meghan is fully capable of doing, and often enough to make a difference. As far as I'm concerned she deserves a spot more than most of you who hold one now, and yet you want to de-admin her, because? That's right because there is a technicality now, that allows you to do so without feeling guilty.
You all remember, we brought her in only temporarily to do some skins for us, and then she was supposed to go back to being a member. Apparently I made her official as an admin without consenting all of you, or at least that is how Neo tells it. In actuality it is the other way around. Now we have this little problem where because she was technically brought in only temporarily, she is now fair game to cut away to decrease our Admin numbers, even though she has been more involved in everything than any of the ones doing the deciding. Fair right?
Do you guys even discuss when you discuss these things, or is like one person suggests and everyone else follows suit?
I'll tell you what, had I been included in the conversation, these points wouldn't have failed to be brought up.
I know the response to that will be, "But you weren't online" and that's true. But had you guys even cared to get my opinion, you would have had the decency to wait until I was, it's not like these decisions need to be made in a timely manner.
Now as far as I am concerned, these two offer a lot more creative input, than who we have now. If you're going to tell me and truly believe it, that any of you actually deserve it more than they do, or contribute more than they do, or help more than they do, well then that is simple justification for everything I have said above.
You guys make bad decisions seperately, what did you think was going to happen when your put your heads together?
The question was asked, should Nicole be an Admin, and everyone basically agreed, but the question which was not asked, was with the "Too many Admins rule" in place, Which one of you will she be replacing?
I'll give her my spot if she wants it, but it really shouldn't be me stepping out of the way. Don't anyone say no one should have to step aside, because afterall we have too many admins and that is in fact the reasoning behind why she can't become one. So in order to keep the numbers similar, someone would have to step aside.
