I´ve seen those pics and fell in silence... she´s perfect, isn´t she??
She's a dream

That's instantly become one of my favourite editorials ever

^What pics? Trouble with Edita is that I can never be bothered to even attempt to type her full name into the search function!

I have enough problems with that as it is. Tell me, do you get this message too - over 50% of the time:

:baronlamesign: So the added trouble of making the effort to spell her name right, only to get this bloody thing, is too much stress for me!

I've seen it before, but I don't much come across it - I use mostly subscribed threads, so no search needed. It is annoying though <_<

You can just search on 'edita' though, to make things easier.. her thread comes up right away with that

You can see the rest of the editorial here --> [link]

^I guess "Edita" alone should do it, but "Behati" doesn't - people seem to be bandying her name about all over the forum (although that's probably mostly me )...

Whilst I wouldn't mind going a few rounds in the ring with Edita (looking lovely there too, thanks for the link), I'm not quite buying her as a boxer! I expect she most likely does to keep that admirable physique- just you get the impression she'd get knocked down rather easily!

But she's got the Million Dollar Baby braid and everything

^I think she's selling the 'fighter' image pretty well in this shot in particular, but yeah, the list of people who could take a punch better than her is probably a fairly long one

I guess so but as donny said, she sells the image quite well and who knows... when I saw Doutzen boxing my respect for her raised a damn lot I don´t think I would like to be in a ring with her... Edita might be thin but she´s also sinewy too.

At the worst, she might start tearing your hair out of your head in no time  - I´ve heard women are good at this one lol.

But what caught my eye too are the watches - they seem sooo out of place, don´t they? Very impractical when it comes to fighting

Oh yeah Don, Hellboy is definitely one the best graphic stories! That, 100 bullets, and 'scalped' are my top 3 for now.

They both look pretty interesting. Scalped has got some pretty amazing cover art from the looks of things (Y)

My favorite comic stories as far as I can remember go something like this:

1. Watchmen, Hellboy

gap

2. 100 bullets

big gap

3. Scalped & Punisher Max

We could fight together - but I fear that wouldn´t help either I hate punches in face to death I hate them that much that I actually never even slapped anyone´s face - I always rather kick or punch on the solar / ankles / knees... also fingers are great weak points and collar bone but face? No

I forgot to mention, thanks for alerting me to that "search titles only" option. I've never noticed that before!

Still got bloody "flood control" message when I tried it though... anger_smilie.gif

The Watchman movie was pretty disorganized and it just didn't work. I read the story before I watched the film and it was clear to me that the director was greatly inspired by its frames. But his storytelling was just a mess! ..what worked in comic format didn't translate to a 2.5 hour big screen picture. However, he filmed a few scenes pretty well, and I enjoyed these bits.

I was introduced to the comic after having heard about the movie and being impressed by the trailer, but I read it beforehand too. I really like the movie, but I take your point about the story feeling a little disjointed, not to mention coming off as a much more diluted version. I dare say there would have been a lot of things I'd have misunderstood, or just plain missed, if I hadn't read it beforehand

I still think it was a pretty decent effort though. Say what you want about Zack Snyder too, but he's sure got a lot of visual style, and knows how to crank up the 'pretty' (and just can't get enough super-slow-mo ).

I freaking love the opening of the movie - both the Comedian death scene, and the gorgeous title sequence (Y)

Strong, independent and very special the film ended when he died - for me

Actually, the opening of the movie + the Comediant funeral scene played in my head for a month until I got the whole soundtrack and now... those are my main songs in my mobile phone he really knows (Zack Snyder) how to connect the visual scene with great music.

Actually, the opening of the movie + the Comediant funeral scene played in my head for a month until I got the whole soundtrack and now... those are my main songs in my mobile phone he really knows (Zack Snyder) how to connect the visual scene with great music.

'Watchmen' was really well made and pretty experimental from a technical standpoint. The film technique, sets, and the costumes had good design. I think that this is where the bulk of their efforts went. The director seemed to have liked the frames in the comic a good deal and thus really tried to break new ground with his film.

Also, from the comic: I think rorschach had the best scene. It was the one where he's being interrogated by a psychologist.

Rorschach is obviously inspired by radical right wing loners. They are often intensely moral and religious with almost no grasp of the outside world. Usually blue collar men, they are incapable of thinking in terms of numbers or structural environment or from the perspective of other people. These people tend to think in terms of laws/rules instead of 'principals in the spirit of the law'. They usually come from the countryside or small towns.

For people who didn't read the comic...well, Watchman was an opaque, random film. I personally felt that Zack strung together pieces of the comic together with a string. He had comic book derived visions from select 'watchmen' scenes and filmed them with insufficient regard towards harmonious storytelling. He didn't really translate watchmen from 'comic' to 'film'. The script was often over-wordy and not verbally efficient. They would mouth off comic book lines rather awkwardly.

The actors really, really looked the part- so much so that I felt that the director casted for looks rather than relevant acting ability. I think Malin was just a model of sorts, with little prior experience in theater or film. The actors would've been great in a photoshoot but outside of the Big Blue Man and Rorscharch I didn't buy the fact that they were comfortable in their skins as experienced superheroes.

Nevertheless, I enjoyed it! But I wouldn't have if I didn't read the comic! :-p
