How I tend to like blondes more than brunettes.
Speaking of which, I uploaded 3 galleries onto junkyard, and there are some vintage Marloes pictures from the beginning of her career.
Oh yes. You know a lot of your favourites are brunettes though.. what percentage would you say were blonde? I realised a little while ago how many of my favourites are blonde, even though I've always generally preferred brunettes ![]()
Did you by any chance go to see Blasko performing with Snow Patrol? I was trying to see if she had anything new to post in the this year Music thread, but according to the ever wise one (wikipedia) that's the last time she's been seen
.
No, I don't think they did this side of the country. But I did see her just earlier this year playing with a full symphony orchestra ![]()

Lol, probably only 20% of my top 60+ models are brunettes...the rest are blonde :-p

This is my favorite scene in bioshock. There are definitely some 1950s cultural influences behind its construction. The juxtaposition of the ambition and tragedy of Rapture is rather poignant, and it builds up to an apex at this very moment.
Cohen's madness also resembles his own way of coping with total loss....
Also, he's based on salvador dali!

Awesome choices!! (Y) Actually don't remember seeing that last pic, super adorable
Thanks!
Your set is amazing.. but that's nothing new
Soeaking of which, hope you had a great Easter
Four days off work is always a good thing, especially when you replace it with chocolate
How was yours?
Four days off during Easter.. now that's what I call living the life!
Me I was in the the thick of it all at work... i'm currently working at a bakery
Feels like jail everytime I set foot in that place, but I got the Sunday off (Y) Stuffed myself silly ![]()
Random question... what kind of movies are you into? Are you big on thrillers/suspense by chance?
Never heard of this Sandy Leddin... heading to her thread right after this ![]()

Nice
! At first I thought one of her albums was particularly expensive, but then found out that I ordered the same one twice at the same time by mistake
, but gave the second one to a friend and she liked it. The love of Sara must be spread anyway

It's interesting too, that Sander in the first game was referred to as "Ryan's Songbird".. another link to Infinite ![]()

Aww D:
Surely Easter's a good time of year for bakers though, with the warm hot cross buns and all ![]()
I wouldn't say I'm big on thrillers/suspense in particular, but I'll watch anything if it's good. My favourite film makers are Wes Anderson, the Coen brothers, Paul Thomas Anderson, Quentin Tarantino, Christopher Guest, to name a few.
Is that a genre you're especially partial to? What are your favourite movies?

Amazing pictures on the previous page ![]()
Well the things I love about it are pretty much what I mentioned - the writing and the characters are so well crafted. What I said before about it being 'dense' really epitomises why I love it so much I think. There are so many throw-away lines and moments that are hilarious, but you might not even really notice or appreciate them the first time you watch it - it's not really 'in your face' humour the way a lot of comedies are, and I love that. I've watched through all the episodes a number of times, and I often pick up new things each viewing. They do a lot of running jokes and call-back jokes to previous episodes, which in lesser hands can end up in kind of tired/kitch humour, but they handle it so well, and build & build upon jokes. It's also part of the reason why the show works well as a complete series, rather than individual episodes.. which was perhaps also part of it's failings (ratings wise), since people coming in half way might have felt a little lost
In terms of plot, it follows the dysfunctional Bluth family trying to hold their property development company (and family) together, after the father (president of the company) was arrested and jailed by the SEC. I don't really know how to explain the plot without it sounding boring
Trust me though, it's brilliant.

I'm just going to put this here...

I'm also interested in Raica Oliveria as of late..
What do you guys think of her?

You know, you mentioned 'Company of heroes' and I tried out the demo today. (2006 version). My hands-on experience was that the design work was just so-so. The game revolves around capturing pieces of a map and waiting for points in order to purchase men and equipment. It's not really executed that well although the individual unit AI is not bad. It's also too simple.
This has come to my attention as there's a new one that's coming out that's based on the Eastern Front and youtube shows evidence that they've really improved it and tried to give it a more realistic feel. But not enough IMHO.
--------------
I also checked out the 'God of War' series and Assassin's Creed. Assassin's Creed III looks really well done, and 'God of war III' has really well done Greek icons (Hercules, Hermes, Gaia, etc.)

Back when the first Company of Heroes came out, I was still involved in a little group that engaged in quite a bit of online gaming.
Many an hour was wasted on Company of Heroes.
I became aware of Raica back when she was with Fat Ronaldo. There was always something a bit artificial about her look. ![]()

What were your tactics in COH?
I only played 4 AI matches and then I uninstalled.
The Germans come across as being overpowered IMHO due to the fact that grenadiers/engineers can be swiftly armed with panzershrecks/flamethrowers while US troops have to rely on stick bombs/nothing at all. Due to the precious nature of fuel points, it doesn't seem prudent to buy anything but infantry and tanks. And then topping it off with a purchase of a Tiger or Pershing.
So my method was: Seize capture areas with engineers, upgrade them to flamethrower if German, build infantry and reinforce capture areas, arm them with panzershreck if German, build Shermans, M-10's /Panzer IV's as a mobile reserve, then unlock heavy tank to lead the final big push. With the big push, I go all in and deploy all tanks and infantry I possess in one mass. It's a basic infantry + tank army, with 3 tanks initially for the Germans (1 tiger, 2 Panzer IV) and 4 tanks for the Americans (1 Pershing, 2 Shermans, 1 M-10). (although I assume that against human opponents, this is less prudent)
The other units available don't seem to be economical compared to the above. Is there use for the other units? I compared prices but their effectiveness did not correlate well with their cost.
I watched the new one on youtube and it looks much improved, but it's still the same system of play.

Hello good sir hope all is well on your side of the equator ![]()
And here is a pic of a model named Luma Grothe that I had to share with you, DanniCullen introduced her topic to me and I was flabbergasted at that face of hers ![]()
Here is some evidence by the way:

So the show was not really successful? Or what did happen?
I don't really know what happened - I don't think the ratings were particularly good (although I guess good enough to last 3 seasons). It's one of those shows though, that everyone who likes it generally loves it. But what I said before is perhaps part of the reason - that much of the story, characters and even jokes were really built up over each successive episode. I guess it wasn't all that accessible to people just coming in half way through the season ![]()
I'm just going to put this here...
Amazing. I love the flamingo ![]()
Hmm never heard of Christopher Guest... I just googled his filmography and never heard of any of the films listed. One of these days I should check some of them out
Which film of his do you like the best? That'll be the one i'll watch haha
Yeah I tend to gravitate more to suspense, thrillers and horror.
For some reason I don't find most of those high profile comedic films to be very funny. For example, it seems everyone and their mother loved 'The Hangover" but not moi. So there must be something wrong with me perhaps
So what kind of genre of film do you like the best?
Favourite movies? Hmmm that's a hard one. I'm the kind of person that no matter how much I like a movie after the initial viewing, I don't care to watch it a second time (unless i'm watching it with someone else whose watching it for the first time, I like to see people's reactions to films lol). For example, I really liked "The Others" but I wouldn't be interested in watching it again and I don't like it nearly as much as I did before. The best part of watching a movie, for me, is anticiapting what'll happen next. Though just recently I watched the "Lost Room" It was a originally a mini TV series, playing for only 3 episodes on the sci- channel back in 2006, I stumbled upon the DVD and fell in love with it. Mind you its 4 hours long but I sat through the whole thing (this coming from someone who is pretty fidgety lol), it really grabbed my attention and was alot of fun to follow. Story has to do with magical everyday objects, such as keys, scissors, pens, jackets etc that hold special powers. For example the Key allows you to open any door and on the other side you get to choose where you want to go etc etc Have you seen it?
On a sidenote, these terrorist/ murderering assholes are really pissing me off.
Boston Marathon thing was horrible of course. Not used to hearing that kind of stuff happen in Canada but just recently they arrested someone for plotting to blow up a train station here. Also, the way the media obsesses over these situations can be in part a negative as well because then you have these sick people looking to get that kind of huge attention for themselves. I tend to just follow the initial reports but when they start delving into the suspects/murderers past etc etc I listen to a bit of it but then that's it.
Just realized I wrote you an essay
Not heard of Spinal Tap? ![]()
The majority of his movies are filmed in the style of documentaries (sometimes called "mockumentaries", although I don't think he likes that term). He writes the stories and scene breakdowns, but pretty much all the dialogue is improvised by the actors, which makes them even funnier when you know this. Most of the same ensemble cast show up regularly too. I'd recommend "Best in Show" to start with - if you like it you'll want to watch the others too. They're not really super "jokey" movies the way most comedies are.. you'll see what I mean when you watch it. Some people really just don't "get" them (not in an intellectual way.. just a matter of taste I suppose) but I think they're hilarious ![]()
I don't really have a stand-out genre that I like.. my favourite movies span them all really ![]()
I re-watch movies all the time
Are you the sort of person who guesses the twist in movies before they're revealed?
I haven't heard of this Lost Room.. sounds interesting though. Cool, Peter Krause is in it too - Six Feet Under is pretty much my favourite thing ever made ![]()
And yeah, it was horrible hearing about that, along with the countless other awful things going on every day in the world. One of the reasons I rarely watch/listen to the news ![]()
I'm also interested in Raica Oliveria as of late..
What do you guys think of her?
I used to like her somewhat.. great body. I haven't seen any of her work for quite a while.. care to share some of the highlights?

Not played it myself.. I'm not really one for strategy games ![]()
I also checked out the 'God of War' series and Assassin's Creed. Assassin's Creed III looks really well done, and 'God of war III' has really well done Greek icons (Hercules, Hermes, Gaia, etc.)
The God of War series has by far the best spectacularly cinematic and grandiose action sequences in gaming. It's really rather beautifully pure game design too, and while they didn't really do much different in each successive game, they continued to tweak and pushed everything to the boundaries of their defined scope and created a really refined experience by the third game.
With the Assassin's Creed series, there's a slight stench of the cash cow being milked, but they must throw a ridiculous amount of resources at it to get a game churned out every year, because they are generally quality games with an impressive amount of content. The second game (and it's two pseudo-sequels released before III) had a much more interesting and engaging protagonist, but as with GOW each one tends to get more refined with tighter gameplay. I'm quite interested in the new one coming out later this year :capt:
