As for me, I used to be totally crazy about fantasy (LOTR, HP, Terry Pratchett, Peter S. Beagle) - that was my mainline   I have read many things, from The Famous Five from Enid Blyton to Stephen King (even two books from Danielle Steel - but once you read one, you´ve read them all). I´ve been reading since I was five, so everything that came to my hands was instantly "eaten"

Not much hedgehogs? How is that?

Lol maybe, on the contrary, THEY actually wanted to practice their English?

I suspect it's because there's less greenery around here to attract them. The area isn't really any more built up than it was when I was younger, but there are fewer gardens in the neighbourhood these days. It seems there are more people blocking up and concreting over every available space now, which is a shame as we now have to go further afield to see much in the way of wildlife.

I'd like to believe that, but I do think their English was better than my German.

We call them hurmikaki and they really taste great so you have your own tree? So envious of you! And that description, lol

I'll stick to persimmons for now Oh they really are, nice texture and just enough sweet to get you thru the day And it's not our tree but that of the in-laws. But since we still live with them we benefit from the tree too

Hi!

Just saw this on kat's thread. I love The Lord of the Rings too

Do like other Tolkien's work? And on the fantasy genre, have you read the A Song of Ice and Fire series?

Hi there

I wanted to read Hobit for ages, but no time for that There are way too many other books still waiting on my shelves and about the A Song of Ice and Fire - no, haven´t, but I did hear about them and someone definitely did recommend them to me (though I don´t remember who anymore).

Which are your favourite books?

Sorry to hear that. I´ve always been lucky enough to live near forests so the wildlife was always kinda part of my life - much or less. Of course it´s much more crowded now than ever before with people people everywhere, lol.

What part of England do you live in, Michael?

The Hobbit is a great book too, but I like The Lord of The Rings more. It's a more mature work and there's a much greater development.

If you like LOTR, I strongly recommend you The Hobbit and The Silmarillion

And I recommend A Song of Ice and Fire books too!

My favorite book is The Lord of the Rings (the trilogy as a whole) , The Silmarillion is up there too.

And the A Song of Ice and Fire saga is also getting into my favorites, specially the 3rd and 5th books (A Storm of Swords and A Dance with Dragons)

There are still areas of forests and greenery around, you just have to travel a little further to find them.

I'm in Sunderland in the north east. If you drove north from here, you'd be in Newcastle in 20 minutes and if you kept going, you'd be in Scotland in an hour. At the moment, I'm living about a five minute walk from the coast, which I love, though I must say, we don’t often get the type of weather to justify spending much time at the beach.

out of the closet on that - what does that mean?

And thank you for the vids Joe, I will find time to watch them thoroughly

btw I hate romantic comedies

Its a phrase generally used in reference to a gay person officially telling the world that they are gay. Some use it to refer to generally putting things on record. Of course, some were never in the closet, so it would only apply to someone who was either hiding it (a male celeb whose primary fanbase is female for example) or who hadn't officially put it on record. In my case, some could call me somewhat in the closet about the ballet thing because I haven't necessarily broadcast my love for it .

She´s EPIC Damn she really knows her moves and angles. I love her for that - it makes her a great model that she is.

The Hobbit is a great book too, but I like The Lord of The Rings more. It's a more mature work and there's a much greater development.

If you like LOTR, I strongly recommend you The Hobbit and The Silmarillion

And the A Song of Ice and Fire saga is also getting into my favorites, specially the 3rd and 5th books (A Storm of Swords and A Dance with Dragons)

Which are your favorites?

LOTR was (in my opinion) the best work Tolkien has ever written - it was his lifetime work. All the languages, all the geography, the story - he was a genius that put everything in these three books. He invented his own world and made it perfect. When I saw the movies, I thought - whow, nothing can get better than this - but then I read the books and I was smitten - the movies, eventhough being perfect themselves, could not compare. Those were books written by a genius. Master pieces.

My all-time favourite book is The Last Unicorn from Peter S. Beagle - a book I am able to fanatically fight for because I damn love every single word in it. For me, it´s a literature jewel, a poetic orgasm, lol. Beagle wrote the book when being fresh out of university, full of all the legendary literature works and authors and his own ideas. There´s so much in the book I cannot even describe - I could wrote a whole essay on it there are his own poems, references to many iconic works, hidden metaphors on every single page, and an epic end with no classic happyend, but still a positive one.

It´s one of the basic fantasy literature works. Pure melody. This is just an example:

“I am no king, and I am no lord,

And I am no soldier at-arms," said he.

"I'm none but a harper, and a very poor harper,

That am come hither to wed with ye."

"If you were a lord, you should be my lord,

And the same if you were a thief," said she.

"And if you are a harper, you shall be my harper,

For it makes no matter to me, to me,

For it makes no matter to me."

"But what if it prove that I am no harper?

That I lied for your love most monstrously?"

"Why, then I'll teach you to play and sing,

For I dearly love a good harp," said she.”

Peter S. Beagle, The Last Unicorn

Other than this one, I have way too many favourite books! All of Terry Practhet´s portfolio, Chris Moore´s books (especially Evangelium according to Biff, Jesus´s best friend - LAMB), Beagle´s Rhinoceros Who Quoted Nietsche, and maaany others, maybe later they will come up to mind

(Who is she? )

Joe edited the post ( :persuazn: !!) so please, which one do you mean? Charlbi Dean Kriek? The one in my set?

As long as they´re there, it´s ok

Oh, the English weather! legendary on it´s own! But 5 minute walk from the coast is still great if you ask me. Are you more of a sea-man or land-man?

We have somewhat similar phrase in Slovak that can be translated like "gay in hiding" I don´t think someone is gay just because he loves ballet - or Madonna there are more things to being gay of course.

When speaking about gays, one thing I really love about USA is their open and modern attitude towards them (generally and oficially) - considering the approval of gay marriages and general understanding of the whole issue.

How is it in real-life everyday Joe ( ) perceiving gay issues in USA today?

Well we could of moved into a few single family homes by now but we are being extremely picky with what is out there since we are lucky enough to have great in-laws that are willing to house us still

LOL mhmm same here South Central LA baby! Booty shoots eh...we talking shoes still? And as for Gisele goes that women still has it going on indeed!

And you just got to love her his Halloween costume down below just in case you haven't seen it before It's so heart warming to see those two still very much in love with each other after all these years considering their high profile status and wealth.
