I know you love Unicorns.. ![]()

So who here's seen Sucker Punch? Thoughts? For me,
1. Abbie Cornish
2. Aside from all the bucketloads of eye candy (both of the action/effects, and the lady kind), I had mixed feelings about the movie by the end of it. I really quite liked the core concept and the way in which the story was told, but there were aspects that flew over my head at the time. I've come to retrospectively like it more and more after thinking about it some more, and reading various theories people have had about exactly what was going on. It's a movie that I think I'll really come to love after a second viewing.
3. One thing I think was really lacking was more connectivity with the 'real world' story. Apparently Zack Snyder had to cut a load of scenes out because of ratings - and I'd wager most of those were centered around this part of the movie. I'd love to see a director's cut

I was mainly looking forward to 1. The action and 2. The dragon
, but that Jamie Chung pic is number 3 to that now
.
I don't get this relentless obsession we seem to have with former teen-idols getting all growed up (re: Britney, Miley, Lohan, the Olsens etc.) so that it becomes OK to perve on them. It's a bit creepy waiting around for the roof to be thatched so we can all move in.

And, blimey, what is it with this seedy fascination with Vanessa Hudgens???Every time I looked anything up about the film I had that chipmunk foisted upon me... ^You probably know as much as me - in that it's a Brasilian fashion show which, by using solely 'homegrown' talent, just happens to utilise a big percentage of the model quotient of most recent VS shows...What is this ""Monange Dream Fashion Tour"? There seems to be two shows- a 2010 and a 2011. It's a VS type thing but with less cheese! I know very little about it!
Yes, less cheese seems to be the order of the day - but the Lima is present so one never quite knows!
Given my South American brethren's fondness for arses I would imagine it's much sexier too. Don't know if you've seen these: http://fashionshowphotos.net/2011/ss-other...-tour-curitibe/ but it's a pretty comprehensive photo account of the show?
I suppose VS have no copyright on scantily-clad women walking down runways and blowing kisses, but it does seem an awful close copy don't you think? That said, I saw this a few weeks ago - from a Japanese lingerie show:

But then imitation is the sincerest from of flattery... ![]()

^If anything overhyping just raises my hackles and I become reactionary! But yeah, taste is so difficult to quantify. Sometimes it gets only details that make us love someone - or like. And I personally try to find something beautiful in all of them, and sometimes I just failed in doing so if a person is overhyped.

What did you think of the movie aside from the girls though?

2. Just the fact that you're counting down to their birthday shows you already liked them anyway, so them being 'officially' grown doesn't really justify anything and some 'men's' sites actually have countdowns to their birthdays

Wow, thanks for the info, Baron. There's a Japanese VS? Do you happen to know what it's called?Do you know if VS got their inspiration from brazilian carnival?

ThisI got over the Lima hype some time ago so it´s not as bad now as it used to be... now rather Kate Upton is "bothering" me more than Lima or rather getting on my nerves. But still no big issue. I have the same with Petra Nemcova or Josie Maran - both are beautiful with pretty good bodies, and I find them average still - but the huge fan base here is making me finding them average even more. And that´s not fair!
unicorns are baned here!!!
^There was more to it than that???What did you think of the movie aside from the girls though?
Actually, I had been looking forward to seeing it way before the casting because I enjoyed the distinctive stylings of both Watchmen and 300. In fact (as I'd said on Jamie Chung's thread), I was concerned about going to it on my own for fear of being seen as a pervert, although that was only an added bonus!
I agree with you, in that it will take multiple viewings to fully appreciate all the details, as it was for Snyder's previous movies. Sometimes it did come across as just an amalgamation of his fetishes, but I do think that the MPAA ratings system did screw around with what he probably wanted to say...
In all respects I look forward to the dvd release.

I see the sucker punch movie is being discussed, OMG, its like a LONG never ending BAD Role play writing secession, and someone who isnt that well hate to say "good". the action scenes could have been gritter, and more intense, the "world" after all was at her proverbial disposal. She could have done some major damage when sword fighting, along with the way she moved etc. And like was said, some points where ok, but i felt, it was more about the "eye candy", and lack of clothing, not that, that is a bad thing. I wished the Doctor/Dance instructer had bigger parts, even though her accent was less than desired. The main Villan, well he did pretty good, didnt see it coming when he, well dont want to give it away. And lastly the ending wasnt what i expected, so that was about the only good thing, but comparing to 300 or watchmen, lollllllllllll 300 KICKED ASS from start to finish, watchmen, LORD, wanted to swallow a bottle full of pills, and DIE DIE DIE.
it was more about the "eye candy", and lack of clothing

Hey, Baron, guess who this is
? I may not have skill or great effort, but I have decent-ish intentions
, but made it in :40 seconds with paint, but my skill may increase though
.

^Damn straight they are! <_<I'm not so bothered about huge fan-bases, best of luck to them - more that just because a base is huge that it suddenly makes them right.
I get so pissed off on here with people confusing OPINION for FACT. And just because it's a popular model doesn't make it any more legitimate. Stop telling me 'x' or 'y' is "everybody's favourite" or is "clearly the prettiest/the sexiest/has the best body/has the best face/has the best pose" because that is a matter of choice...
And you're wrong - because it'sBehati!!!

it was more about the "eye candy", and lack of clothing
That describes 300 so much more than it does Sucker Punch ![]()

And another thing is lack of any sense of humourbut we talked about it already... still, it amazes me.
