it was more about the "eye candy", and lack of clothing

That describes 300 so much more than it does Sucker Punch

Mister Baron! So I finally found the stupidest thing(s) that's ever been said by a person(s) on Bellazon. It took 6 years, but it happened. lol

"I didn't realize snakes could pee"

/stares

How the bloody hell don't you know that?!! Common sense of a 4 year old POOF, Gone, MIA, Derp. Some of these people still never cease to amaze me, and dare I say it... waste of sperm and egg. Tag you're it.

I didn't even realize snakes could pee!

2. Just the fact that you're counting down to their birthday shows you already liked them anyway, so them being 'officially' grown doesn't really justify anything and some 'men's' sites actually have countdowns to their birthdays
^That really encapsulates it, it's this turgid fascination with girls 'blooming' and the (imagined) impending loss of their virginity. I remember the speculation surrounding Britney and Justin and the had they/hadn't they? arguments by drooling 'old' men in the media! But it was all one way - nobody cared if Justin had lost his virginity, just if he'd taken hers... :|

The weirdest thing about those countdowns is that in the British tabloid-newspaper media you had this situation years ago where The Sun was counting down the days until 15 year old (Welsh singer) Charlotte Church turned 16, an 17 year-old girl would be topless for reader's titillation on their infamous 'Page 3', and then there'd be foaming-at-the-mouth indignation and "bring back the death penalty" shouts about a teacher sleeping with a 16 year-old pupil all in the same edition. That is a massively confusing set of standards at work there! I believe it's still peddling differing variations of this confusing attitude to young women even today... Michael*, Nightlife?

I concur - it's creepy and to the best of my knowledge, not much has changed in recent years. We should remember though that we're talking about the paper which, at the height of last year's election 'fever', chewed out the BBC for what they perceived as the anti-Conservative bias of (wait for it) - yes, you've guessed it, Basil Brush. Sometimes common sense and basic, non-contradictory standards are just way too much to ask for. <_<

And while I'm here Baron, I was wondering if you'd heard any of the new Wild Beasts?

^ Horses for courses... But agreed, donbot, that movie could have been shot by Bruce Weber with it's lingering shots on the male torso and rampant homo-eroticism! I'm with you on the texturing too, this is much more layered. I was talking more about the "cinematography" (I'm aware it's pretty much all green-screen) and it's wonderful detail in those previous films, and how much you miss on first viewing... (By the way, did you know the Japanese text on the front of Amber's 'mecha' reads 'Careful: Women Driver'?!!)

Certainly in terms of straight exploitation it's a far lesser contender than, say, Death Proof (although that was knowingly so) or even the Charlie's Angels movies. Needless to say D.O.A: Dead Or Alive is where you want to go if it's just hot girls 'fighting' in tiny outfits that you require from a film...

And another thing is lack of any sense of humour but we talked about it already... still, it amazes me.
^That, and 'soulless' posting (i.e - just a post with no explanation, info, source, context, and zero recognition of anything else transpiring in that thread or on that page) makes me sad. Godammit we're a forum - communicate!

I tend to ignore stupid people. Seriously though the lack of common sense absolutely floors me... so in that sense yes, it's the stupidest thing I've heard to date.

^Pretty much everything Lost_Soul said in the run-up to last year's VSFS was stupid - not to mention inaccurate...

^Really? Wonderful! :| Oh, News International - forever trying to take down the BBC with tales of it not being "neutral", whilst they remain ever so even-handed and wouldn't turn it into FOX News if they were given the chance. <_<

And no, I hadn't heard anything from Smother yet (I presume it's from that?) - I listen to British radio online a lot here (mostly BBC 6music), and I guess some of these songs are in circulation? Just haven't lucked out I suppose... Thank you!

I will admit (even now) to having a slight soft spot for Mr. Brush, but it must not have occured to anyone that the majority of his audience are small children and therefore not exactly big voters.

Apparently 'Albatross' is the lead track from 'Smother', though it had completely eluded my ears until this week, despite being available as a download since the start of March. Quite different hearing Hayden and Tom singing in harmony when they usually trade off vocals, but I'm now rather excited about the album. 'Two Dancers' was criminally under-appreciated, as is the band in general.
