^Great pic. (Y)

Baron, will you be digging out your old baggy jeans and anoraks for the forthcoming Stone Roses reunion?

It´s wonderful there, when one is sober

^Could you not see who'd uploaded that third video to YouTube then? Yeah, some dick calling himself "TheBaronOfFratton"!

Jaja - actually the second one is a (slightly ) interesting story too. For some reason this poster, LadyNikita10, has taken all these Princesse Tam Tam videos off of this site called "Guyism" (<? No, me neither, reckon it's somewhere that SuperNinja probably hangs out! ) and decided to repost them all back on YouTube. Not such a bad idea, I suppose - only that Guyism got them all (and a bunch of hard-to-find accompanying lingerie images) off of ME to begin with, and they were all already uploaded to YouTube BY ME!?!?

Weirdly, she's also from Argentina! Meaning that with me, our esteemed fellow BZ member cecileett, and now her around, we've become a strange little South American hotspot for bothering Behati...

But, anyway, the first one is new - although the images are from a NEXT catalogue set from the beginning of this year - and mainly I wanted to say that the fact that you thought of me in relation to these, and took the time to post them, is the important part of it all.

LOOOL I don't look at the name of the uploader when I'm not logged on or unless I'm crediting them for a post. Of course, its ironic that I didn't credit in this case . I usually do in threads at least.

Oh, do you celebrate Halloween? And what are you going to wear? get well soon B
^Not normally, at least not in any sense that I have 'traditions'. Just so happens that I have two parties to attend this year. I'm going as Teen Wolf (80's Michael J Fox style) and have fashioned the costume myself, and (if I may say) it looks mighty good! Two separate groups too, so I can get away with it twice.

Cab rides might be uncomfortable though...

And walking up anything isn't good, hungover or not. Looks like a worthy destination, mind you.

Were you a fan Michael*? I know you're a few years younger than me, but they're kinda like The Smiths in that respect - a stage into 'indie' appreciation!

Did you vote btw? Do you think Hermes Binner would be a better president, or just 'lesser of two evils'?
^I always vote as I think it's a matter of duty and respect for those who fought for our rights to. I voted for Binner - although it was more an anti-Kirchner vote. I knew it was futile from the start, but I got annoyed so many people decided just to not bother because of that ; if they'd got off their arses it maybe wouldn't have looked like so much of a landslide?

Plus this is going to allow her her more personal and aggressive mandates. I know she's now going to get all shitty over Las Malvinas/The Falklands (again) - which always puts me in an uncomfortable position...

^Well you know this is a personal bugbear of mine?!! Mostly because I like to go the sources and see if there's anything else of interest to me there, you know? There're some HQs of the Ralph Lauren charity event knocking about here now (of which I have some vested-model interests!) and I'd like to know where they came from - but, alas, it's our silent spamming brethren "providing" them...

I tend to think that usual controversy over disputed territories, or pieces of the economy can be abated once the core is mastered: The attainment of Higher GDP, higher economic growth + lower unemployment, at least > $35,000 income per capita. Once this threshold is reached, the basics of life (food, shelter, transportation, children, education, etc.) are cleared for at least 90% of the population and pieces of the welfare state can be dismantled in order to free up labor & capital so that the economy can expand further. The military industrial complex can then be expanded to exert trade and territorial influence. The politicians will continue to fight as usual, but their decisions will have less bearing on absolute human well-being in general.

The role that non-dictatorial politicians play is marginal. What matters most is the financial health and competitive position of the nation's industries itself and the ability of business leaders to navigate restrictive or disadvantaged environments. There needs to be a reasonable welfare state and a fair tax code that keeps incomes as linked to merit and value-added behavior as possible. Industrial/Infant industry policy to promote growth of enterprises and good employment.

At the most basic level it is the quality and economic decision making of the broad masses of people themselves that are linked to economic strength. Nations with populations inferior in these indicators need cultural change among their people- most importantly high, ambitious work ethic, 'venturesome consumption' habits (to buy from entrepreneurial producers/servers), liquid financial markets, and strong entrepreneurial, organizational/managerial, engineering, and scientific culture. And a political framework to aid all of that. The rarest resource in a society are first class wealth creating individuals of these four groups. A 'post-industrial' rather than an 'industrial' mentality is also required. Only the pressured survive... particularly those who realize that their government and long lived private sector institutions don't owe them a good living even if they do, in fact, breathe oxygen through their noses...

..that sort of thing.

The trouble with embracing change is that it puts a lot of psychological pressure on all people, greatly depletes social living, and it just does not happen overnight. It is the only, at most, half of a population that can do this, and certain countries have embodied this reality more than others.

your attitude Baron, so far I could vote in 4 elections and I voted 4 times (well, technically 5 if you count 2 'rounds' of presidential elections). Unfortunately, within my colleagues... I mean, the average frequency in elections for the whole country is around 40-45% and I guess for every 10 people I know, 4 don't vote because they 'don't care' or 'don't have anyone to vote for'. Did you hear about the frequency in the latest elections in Tunisia? It was around 92%! I know the situation in that country is different than in ours but still.

^I think people become blasé about voting, and forget what a struggle the attainment of democracy was... But I do appreciate how you can become jaded and feel powerless even with the ability to change it - when the alternative is just as bad and just as deaf to your voice.

^They're a peculiarly emotive subject, those islands, though... But then it's no coincidence that our leaders lurch to them and their sovereignty in times of economic strife - they are the ultimate misdirection, a sleight of hand to distract the populace from unpopular measures.

But, well, it's complicated. Sure enough the economy is bad in Britain at the moment too - and they are perhaps useful in strategic terms for the South Pole and oil rights - but this is all about pride ultimately.

What I'm saying is, it may be not just voting or backing certain groups- but it's also the fault of the people who don't scrutinize or are unable to scrutinize their government and endeavor to regulate its behavior.

I was wondering if you felt that Argentina's economy is actually, the fault of the Argentinian people to produce enough GDP and also their failure to assert themselves politically beyond unproductive protests and angry riots (utilizing the politics of envy and community organizers). I generally believe that to be the case with many countries. I believe that after a certain point, the weight of politics are insufficient in explaining a nation's problems. The culture, decisions, and general activities of its people are the problem. Your country has incredibly cyclical and volatile long term unemployment levels.

Your government is also a prime business of New York Investment banks- Argentina banks are infamous for buying US financial engineering services and utilizing derivatives markets to hide and postpone its debts..

Oh, it indeed was. I love walking up, but I have to be either really drunk, so I don´t care, or absolutely sober but NOT in the state of getting sober but once you´ve had walked up, the view tends to be... simply breathtaking

Teen Wolf? I wanna see no, I HAVE to see!!

As for elections... here in Slovakia our government has fallen and there will be new elections (preterm elections) next year in March... but I have no idea and no enthusiasm to go voting again. I´ve always voted since I was 18, but now I´m deeply dissapointed, because the government I voted for had won, and now they´ve fallen down - like showing everyone they aren´t capable of rule over this state. I simply have no one to vote for, because the most powerful (and probably the next winner of these elections) political party is left-handed and communism-oriented... and full of bullshit and with the biggest idiot leading them. They were rulling before, and put our state in even bigger debt, made a lots of scandals because of corruption. There is no other party that has some chance to win.

This is just gross.

If you don't like this powerful party, vote for another one to show you're against them And I know that usually 2, 3 parties have the biggest chance to get into the parliament with lots of their politicians so that's why people are afraid to vote for smaller parties, although I wish they would... to vote how they feel, not calculating 'I'd vote for X but (s)he doesn't have a chance so I'm gonna vote for Z'.

^I fear you may be bordering on the precipe of my knowledge of such things here! What is certainly true is that despite a wealth of natural resources (plus soybeans, beef and all it's by-products) - it's never really recovered from the idiotic military Junta that took over government in the mid-70s. About half a million companies went bankrupt during that time, and the succession of knee-jerk reactionary "governments" that followed never sorted it out - leading to the complete financial collapse in 2001.

You are also dealing with a continent in general whose 'leaders' all like to keep themselves in pocket and pat each other on the back whenever possible... "Deals" are rife, I'm sure.

It´s not that simple, Lay no more we have now 2 or 3 parties that could make it to the parliament - now we have only this one, because people are dumb and will go and vote for it. And this party has a really big chance that they will need no one other to be in the parliament... no other party. So it will be a rule of one single party. We have very few reliable parties, and all of them now falled in this period. Our prime minister announced her retirement from politics because of this issue. And other parties? There is really no one to vote for. They are all mostly corrupted or just too small and not-known.

What else to do? Vote for the party I hate to have there? No. Vote the same party I had voted previously after their failure? There is no sense in doing that. They dissapointed me really much with their silly decisions and tricky laws. Vote for other parties? There are no real other parties. It´s really more a kind of a joke. A really bad joke, as it is!

Oh, very much so! Though I will admit to rolling my eyes a bit when I'm out and about and 'She Bangs The Drums' comes on for the ten millionth time, I still count the Roses as one of my all-time favourites. And I'm actually quite happy about the reunion - the idea of them getting back together just for a few big gigs didn't really appeal because Ian's voice is pretty awful live - but since they're promising new material, my interest is officially piqued. I only hope the album arrives before the realisation sets in that they hate each other - the band surely deserves a better send-off than that now-infamous Reading festival set.
