^Using brains rules!Hey there Baron
I enjoy talking to intelegable members like yourself
So whats going on with you? Any movies your super pumped for?
I'm in the midst of Christmas prep. Once more I'm cooking the family meal - but one always has to top last year's effort. Goose this time, and I'm tinkering with chestnuts...
As for movies, well, The Hobbit like I said - but further ahead to Django Unchained and whatever happened to The Great Gatsby? I'm sure it was supposed to be out end of the year? Actually I'm most looking forward to seeing the rerelease of The Shining this weekend - Kubrick cut several minutes from the ending, and then it was reduced by another half hour for international release (I'm not sure what I may be missing). So, the full 144 minute version is going to be on the big screen, which is a rarity. ![]()
Django is going to be freaking legit :atoobie: From leos thread, the film has been super praised so far by people attending screenings, and saying that Waltz and Dicaprio are definite standouts...the idea of leonardo dicaprio finally playing a different character, a VILLEN at that, gets me sooo excited!
and Great Gatsby got pushed back to May of 2013...
for apparent reshoot and editing stuff.
OHH The Shining, one of my all time favorite films. Probably my favorite scary movie/suspence thriller movie ever. Jack Nicholson at his finest ![]()

^I hadn't noticed.
It's late here now, I shall have to wait for the upload fairies to have provided me with a link for it tomorrow.
Behati, Magdalena, Elsa - the rest will have to try and impress me.

^Hey, and I'm first!I checked it and ehm ehm, I´m second, muahahaha!
I´m so proud of myself!
I WIN!!!

That does not count! :persuazn: You´re the master of your thread!
I should be rewarded, I insist!

^I meant to reply to this before - you do look like her, I trust my eyes!Really?
IRL, I look nothing like her, trust me
![]()
Lol you
Ok then ![]()
I saw Moonrise Kingdom the week before. I loved it!! Suzy was a real femme fatale, hell!!

So what do you think about the GG noms? Anything your excited about, anything you feel was snubbed?
Checking past pages in this thread, I see you are quite the film buff ![]()

^Who'd have thought? Some quarters would have you believe that she'd be two-dimensional lying down and not being able to arch her back! And: So that's how Candice looks when she lies down on her stomach!:
^Yeah, the show didn't really add much - in fact (as it so often does) it managed to detract from the images we had with it's incessant cutting, terrible editing, and focus on the performers. It amazes me how much conjecture there is on the VS threads, when ultimately all the show does is reinforce our prejudices: Doutzen is still "sturdy", Adriana is still overplaying everything, Candice still has a great walk/body but is personably dull and overused, Ale is still completely forgettable, Lily, Erin, and Lindsay are still interchangeable, Miranda is still attractive but boring, Magda still pisses over everybody on the catwalk, Elsa still has the greatest arse, and Behati is still my favourite. There was very little in the way of surprise for me as I already saw the photo clips. I did browse the youtube links a bit, but I'll wait for somebody to upload it.
There was no Bregje for me this year - as in a girl I've never seen/heard of making an impression - but she herself looked nice as did others in varying degrees; Sui He, Toni (a vast improvement from last year, personally), Isabeli, Barbara for instance. I did do my annual commentary, as per Pretty's request, but these things get drowned out by (unintentional) nonsense.

^For you, and in homage to my long lost friend iceeagel:I should be rewarded, I insist!

^It's a little gem isn't it - and those kids were the coolest. Their little camp was the stuff of my childhood dreams! Are you listening, katchitup? Go see!I saw Moonrise Kingdom the week before. I loved it!! Suzy was a real femme fatale, hell!!

^I just know how to waste my days!So what do you think about the GG noms? Anything your excited about, anything you feel was snubbed?

Aside from your (no doubt) Django Unchained cheerleading
, how about you?

Hola amigo
you stopped by my topic to pour me a drink...I shall stop here and serve you what I had for dinner today. Mighty fine meal I might add, extra cheese and grilled onions!

And of course, it's the one and only: In & Out burger

I didn't know awards season had come around so soon - but I've just checked wijnboerinnetje's new thread for it and am please to say I've seen ZERO of the 'Best Picture' nominees (the serious ones anyway, which are often a signifier of where the 'Academy' will go); although to be fair 4 of the 5 haven't been on at the cinema here in the UK yet. I'd be happy to see Jennifer Lawrence win anything as she's adorable, and she's turned in great performances since I first saw her in Winter's Bone.

Wait a minute...there were other films and people nominated besides DJANGO UNCHAINED and LEONARDO DICAPRIO?? WHHATT?

Hmm well Argo I haven't seen yet, but I know people who have and said it was amazing. Also just juding by the trailer, it does seem best picture worthy. I noticed Ben Afflek didn't get a nom for his acting though, but for directing he did. Surprised to see Bradley Cooper in the nomination list as well. I've never thought of him as a fantastic actor or anything, but Havn't seen Silver Linings Playbook so can't judge
And Agreed, jennifer lawrence is fantastic. I actually wasn't the biggest fan of Winters Bone (I thought the movie was just kinda quiet and didn't really go anywhere) but her performance was fantastic ![]()

^Well that's not fair! You can get some ginger wine, I'm screwed...Hola amigo

^That's because he can't act!I noticed Ben Afflek didn't get a nom for his acting though, but for directing he did.

It's worth a bongo-riff - surely?

This actually sounds like a good idea

I'm bumping this, as I never forgot.. ![]()
After a long time...I finally saw half of the motorcycle diaries today, and will see the next half pretty soon, and I have a story to tell you and hopefully the film will help!
Come to think of it, my statement about Marxism is a bit edging towards strong. It is its economics that I have issue with. However, the emphasis on social relations and trying to understand how capitalism really works is where the (admittingly uneven) value lies.
Was he and others employed within large firms- say over 50,000-400,000 employees? In the US, union power is correlated with 1. public sector 2. large, non-service sector firms.

That's pretty much on spot. I actually liked Ale in her fantasy bra though, and, at risk of sounding like a prick, she was more beautiful pre-baby. But she was in still in great shape.
Bregje's makeup was off this year. I remember that she had one of the best looks during her debut show.

Finally finished Motorcycle Diaries, here are some snapshots I took. Thought-provoking film, 4.5/5
:
It was tasteful of the director to make a film that wasn't much about ideology or Che but rather about a life experience that's more universal. It rang true to some experiences of my own, and there's a dejavu feel to it. I was half-expecting to see a ham-handed political agenda to be inserted into this and it's good to see that expectation not bear fruit.
Come of think of it, I'd like to hear how our traveling Nightlife would have thought of this.

Do my eyes decieve me? Did Baron just change his set? ![]()
LOVE IT!

MERRY(almost) CHRISTMAS

sorry for the image quality, this is the best I could find of behati associated with christmas ![]()
