The rest of the hardcore groupies hang out in Leo's threads.

I don't really know Ewciolina but I don't recall running into any issues w/ her
I am curious what exactly does "superficially sensible" mean?
Sorry, poor choice of words on my part.
I just meant that she seems sensible on the surface, like from an outsider's perspective. ![]()
Ewciolina kinda bothers me, not going to lie. Hardcore Miranda Kerr fan who seems to have a past of irking people who have an opinion that differs from hers about Miranda... Maybe she's changed since I last had dealings with her? I dunno... I tend to stay away from the uber fans on this forum unless I'm forced to deal with them. All I'm sure of is that if is she's given mod status she'll spend 75% of her time in Miranda's thread making sure it's just the way she wants it to be. Plus I don't think she has any interest in the males section of the forum?
Fair enough.
I don't know her very well, but I've noticed that she posts in the David Gandy and Noah Mills threads quite a bit, and is of course a veteran member. Thought it might be worth throwing her name out there.

^ Understood
Like I said I have very little dealings with her as of late, so maybe she's changed.

quetzales is someone we should look into and consider ![]()

Wait, who are the 2+ people I have had issues with?
![]()
I think I can remember one - possibly - since you have joined up (AnaBBFan). Even that was one-sided, as I never quite understood what I did to so anger her, and I made it a point to ignore her as much as possible after she had made her dislike for me apparent.
Beyond the issues I had with liika in her interactions with MK, I think it would look very, very bad if we made the person responsible (whether directly or indirectly) for MKs departure the new moderator.

I'm trying to remedy my long-windedness, but defending her was a side note to the fact that even before the rivalry I thought she was too immature to be a leader just at face value
which is why I voted against her when we did this for the last hiring. She acts like a 14 year old.

Correct me if I am wrong, but the consensus seems to be to add two moderators, one "general" mod and one to specifically take care of the Guys section.
I'm still not entirely convinced that the best process is a simple nomination and vote, but for arguments sake, wouldn't it be best if we then take two separate votes for that?
One for the Guys section mod and one of the more general mod? Otherwise we might get a scenario where the top two votes receivers are members who are currently not (very) active in the Guys section.

My vote goes to Liika (guys section) & Pheno (guys & rest of the forum) for new staff, and the plus side of them working together is that Pheno can help keep her level on issues.

Well I guess we first need to determine the exact process? I only suggested splitting up the votes, but I'm not sure if a pure vote is the best way to go about this.
How about this: we nominate the candidates, then we have a discussion about that group of nominees where everyone can make their case in terms of who they like and who they don't deem mod-material.
After that, we redact the nominees to a smaller list after taking into consideration what was brought forth during the discussion.
We then put this redacted nominees list to the vote?
Alternatively we could also give each member of the staff veto right, though that might lead to no one getting through the process. ![]()

^ Sounds good to me ![]()
Nomination 1: quetzales
Nomination 2: donbot
What do you guys think of katchiup (sp?) and tzdon? ![]()

In regards to staff leaving & etc. Joe makes a good and valid point however, people come & go. It's part of life. Nothing is static. I personally don't think it is a bad thing when staff members move on. It is sad when people leave but at the same time I am happy for them b/c it shows growth and progress---something I hope we all strive for. Also it give us an opportunity to add someone new who might have new ideas & perspectives. I think the issue might be the lack of guidelines of how long a staff member needs to be MIA until he/she gets automatically excused from the staff.

FYI, I informally contacted donbot to discuss some of the concerns that Joe pointed out in terms of him or other members like him - long-term members being overwhelmed into leaving shortly after being made a mod.
I did not specifically discuss our current process, just the notion that we could possibly add to our staff in the near future and if he would like to be considered or not.
He is interested in the opportunity and did not express any concerns in terms of the issues Joe brought up.

In terms of my own nominations, I still need to think some more about who I would consider for the Guys section mod, but the other slot goes to donbot. ![]()

I think the nature of the hiatus should also factor in.
e.g. if someone is gone for three months because he or she is making a trip around the world, he/she should not automatically be kicked off the staff.

^ I was thinking if they're gone for more than a year or 2. Obviously if they come back we could always reinstate them if we deem necessary ![]()

Two years is a little excessive to be gone, if were up to me they'd be gone after three-four months (gotta earn that paycheck right?) and for extreme circumstances a year tops. After a year of being absent and not pulling your weight I see very little reason for you to remain staff, and if Staff just needs a couple weeks off, all they have to do is let us know... no biggie

Always (Y) Anyone who thinks BZ has priority needs to reevaluate their priorities or is just a lucky rich mofo.

If you are rich and you spend your time moderating on BZ, you also need to re-evaluate your priorities. ![]()

I was thinking in terms of being so rich you don't need to work but wasting your day messing around online ![]()
