Solange_09, who's already on 30% warning, is hotlinking a ton of images in Blake Lively's thread:http://www.bellazon.com/main/index.php?sho...278&st=1060
Just asking what normal protocol here would be, i can remove the images but then there'd be nearly a full thread of meaningless edited posts from me.
Should the posts be deleted altogether or.... ?
first things first... WELCOME Berno...and Michael* and CarMELita too of course!
Re: hot linking PC wrote great guidelines about how to handle it....none involved deleting the post. Check

Hey all, I was just wondering where we stand with regard to posts offering live sports streams? I've noticed a few appearing around here lately.
Hi Bellazon Staff,My name is Olivier Vervelle. I am an ex-Model and i would like to ask the suppression of my unauthorized thread.
===> http://www.bellazon.com/main/index.php?showtopic=8057
We can easily understand that privacy and image rights are not respected in that case.
Could you confim the removal of my pictures/tread as soon as possible.
kind Regards,
O.V
Could you provide us with some proof of your identity at the very least?
Thoughts?
I know you already deleted his thread, but I think it's quite an interesting general issue! Does he need to "authorize" his thread?
I get about 6'200 hits when feeding google picture search with his name, so it's not only BZ who's providing them. I see a thread at tfs too ... He was a model, his pics had been published, they made their way to the internet. In his thread are no private pictures. I don't think he can demand his thread to be closed. If it's due to copyright protection of the editorial pics I doubt the rights/licences are his. I would understand if the photographer or the agency demands those pics to be removed, but since those are published pictures I guess he himself got paid for the job and doesn't have any rights/licences whatsoever.
Of course you had to close his thread, it's just polite since it is about him and it was his wish (and I get we're a bit on a thin edge with copyright infringements anyway so better not to provoke anyone). But he can't ban every picture of him from the internet, once they're out there ...
... everyone could make a new thread anytime.

With members blowing up my spot (pm box) about the report button, e-mail notification not working ect. I was thinking that though Maddog is the only tech guy now, we usued to have a guy named Azulus who was the backup tech guy to give Maddog a hand. I liked him a lot, though some complained that he wasn't active in the board or something. On the other hand, we have a member with that calibre of knowledge who is one of our most active members as well. In Prettyphile, we have someone like that who can have Maddog's back with the tech stuff and has loved this board for a long time. Her record isn't spotless admittedly. She was banned under suspicion of her and Pheno being the same person and reinstated when that was proven untrue. She's had an argument or two, though I can't recall her insulting anyone directly and for the past few years has greatly improved her conduct and even in her disagreements has a knack for ending it on a humorous and friendly note with the person. I'd say over the last couple years, her conduct is the most improved in a way I never thought I'd see. Even Pinks said before she left that I had a way of 'getting through to her' and she's improved even since then. She's been one of my greatest reporters of infractions even when the report button didn't work and also knows how to reel Pheno in when she gets on one of her tangents (the most recent example in getting her to get off the backs of the new mods...). I don't think we'll find a prospect with that combination of administrative and computer knowledge and love for this site. She has over 8 years of IP.B experience, she's a master of the admin panel, knows how to make ip.board skins, savy in mod installation, a computer wiz, was a mod on World Fashion Tour for 2 years and an administrator there for 3 years and I think she loves and knows BZ as well as anyone. Just an idea
.
Not that I know her on a personal level, but she's been here since forever (like me) so naturally we came across each other and are on a friendly basis. I never came across any incidents where Prettyphile was involved in a negative way (never knew about that pretty/pheno issue). If she's that skilled I'm all for it, I know she's very devoted to BZ.

I'd have no problem, I like Pretty and she would be a boost to the team. ![]()

No objections to Prettyphile joining up, but obviously the final decision should be left to Maddog...

Put me down as a yes too. ![]()

Hey everyone, in regards to people having links to their websites in their sigs, (eg. lima-fans.com) is that alright? I always thought it was cool considering you're not going around posting threads about it and it's an option just for somebody to click? It's just a member contacted me sayin she was asked to remove hers? thoughts..
Even i have a link to a blog in my sig ![]()

Hmmm, that's a good point. It seems harmless enough if members want to have external links in their sigs, provided they're reasonably relevant to BZ's content and not linking to anything too shady. Who asked them to remove it, another member?
Well, the rules state "Please do not post information promoting yourself, for-profit sites, or your board, blog, website, band/group and etc. All advertising posts and threads will be deleted" so I started PM people with Links in their sigs when I notice.
One girl said, PinkCouture allowed her to link to her personal website, but maybe the rules have been made more strict since then, I don't know. I send a copy of the conversation to PC but haven't got a reply yet. So I'm still being the annoying mod PMing people (my being very polite though of course).
I chose to ignore a credit yesterday though, because someone credited the guy that made the "brushes" he used for his sig or something like. I think this is okay? It was just a small 'Thanks to bla for bla"-kinda thing.
As for links to threads in BZ - I really think those are okay (having such a link myself
).

I guess it is confusing because some have been told by admins in the past that theirs are okay. I do know that anything profit oriented has to go though
.

Basically if it's not a for-profit site or a rival forum, I usually allow the signature to remain as is.
In Lost Soul's case, her links were for two fan sites. I'd allow that to remain, unless the majority of you consider that too lenient?

Since you can put a link to your private website in your profile, there's no need to put in the sig. If you want to spread your website link you could link your profile in your sig, saying you can find a link to your website there. Okay, that sounds complicated, but it's a way to apply to the current rules. A link to a fansite could be allowed as long as it's non-profit, but we would have to check every link in the sig (and some have dozens) to see if it really IS non-profit. Plus the rules had to be changed as they clearly state no promotion links, ...

Hey guys, I've been asked to bring this topic to your attention -
http://www.bellazon.com/main/index.php?showtopic=38384
Just wondering what the general consensus is. It's better than simply bumping threads in the model section, but it seems to serve the same purpose. Any thoughts? ![]()
Do you think this thread will draw so much attention it'll become a BUMPing problem? It's probably forgotten in a few days ... though I do like the idea actually. I've been browsing frequently on the last pages too to see if there's an interesting model in hiding, so I understand the reason why modelknowledge started the thread. I know her from the Model-ID-section, she's doing an awesome job there and really seems responsible enough not to BUMP just for the love of BUMPing ... but some people might misunderstand the purpose ...

Fair enough. I was simply asked by a member to raise the issue and see what the general opinion was on the topic.

Dear Maddog,
I am writing today in response to the changes going on at Bellazon. I think it is wonderful that we are adding more staff and would like to ask that Little Miss Sunshine’s name be placed on any possible future list for a mod. I know she ahs not been here as long as others, but she does love Bellazon and wants to see it become an even better site for all current and future members.
LMS is not the type that plays favorites, and believes the rules and guidelines should be followed by all, not just some, and would have no issue enforcing this on anyone, even friends. She is a well rounded member and visits all the different model and celeb threads as well as pip threads as opposed to just gravitating towards one particular area.
She has in the past always tried to be a mediator when tempers start to flare, and to help keep people from going overboard and getting punished or worse. LMS has no personal issues with any member on BZ, and is a person that always tries to work with everyone and find amicable solutions.
Also, she is not one that has gone out of her way to cause trouble or make enemies on Bellazon. She has always done her best to welcome new members with open arms and to also give advice to members on certain issues (for example: Fashionicon and posting gifs, though unfortunately she did not listen to her advice about posting as thumbnails). No matter what, She has always been friendly and courteous to her fellow members as much as humanly possible.
I do feel that Little Miss Sunshine could do this job. She knows it can be time consuming and often times thankless, but I believe she is up to the task. I thank you for your consideration on this.
Sincerely,
Sweet Lu

Since i noticed BZ is in search for a few mods i am submitting my vote for Limey to be one. I think he has everything this forum is looking for in terms of a good mod. He is level headed, contributes, modest, and less likely to have a bias judgment with models around here. I RARELY bother or go out of my way with such things but i truly think he would be great for this place. wave.gif

I don't know LMS and Limey (is that Limerlight?) well enough to promote them, but as far as I know them they're both friendly and helpful.
I want to get back on the Links in the signature issue - are we strict for the current rule? For I am PMing members to remove those links ...
What about links to Modelthreads on other websites?
"Please do not post information promoting yourself, for-profit sites, or your board, blog, website, band/group and etc. All advertising posts and threads will be deleted" I get it they're included as advertising or?? I mean, a link to another site clearly promotes the other site. If someone would want to promote a certain model, one could use a link to the BZ-thread.
Any thoughts?
I will proceed with PMing people as long as the issue isn't solved, but I would be glad if I could rely on some statement of you, guys, so we're "on the same side" so to say ...

It seems I'm getting a lot of requests lately. My answers have all been that in voting for these, the staff predetermined to take 2-3 at this time. If we go back on that for one in such a short span, it will only encourage more requests more than likely. That said, before we address any specifically, we should decide whether to do away with the 2-3 thing or stick to the 2-3 thing for now and put the best backup candidates on the shelf or whatever. In any case, I'm not really a fan of endorsing a friend. Self endorsements are one thing, but everyone here probably has a friend they believe can be a staff member. We have to make it clear to the members that staff appointments are staff business and will not bow to the will of the mob or crowd
. In the case of Limer though, he would have been one of my top candidates had he not said he was so busy with work and school lately and could only come on every couple days.
Also, since this would be this staff's first voting (unless any disagrees of course), I say that if there is at least one staff member that feels strongly that anyone should not be staff, then that person should not be staff unless four or more feel equally strong toward a yes.
