Welcome back!

So ... since my connection seem to work again, I'm coming back to the Logo Issue. As I remember we somewhat agreed that there should be a poll about it. What I thought would be best is as followed:

I would star a pinned thread in the General Talk section and spread the word.

All members can submit their favorite portrait picture of either male/female model or male/female actress. I don't think we should allow singers for I see a discussion coming up whether it's a solo artist or band leader and why can't we have bands and so on.

I thought it would be best if I open up a separate E-Mail-Account (like BZLogo@whatever.com) and not do it via PM, although members can of course submit pictures via PM too. I think we should let the submission phase run up to 3 (?) weeks, everyone can submit 10 (?) favorite pictures.

Then the poll phases begins.

Phase 1:

Let's say we have 10 pics of Gisele submitted. The first poll will be to vote for the best one. This will continue for every model/actor with more than one pic submitted, until the picture with the most votes is singled out.

Phase 2:

Now the models/actors will compete in direct polls. To get the pairing as fair as possible and assuming everyone thinks myself a trustworthy person - I would write each name on a piece of paper and make a blind draw. Then we do it like in soccer: let's say we have a list of - to make it easy - 16 names, we divide those into 4 groups:

Group I

Group II

Group III

....

Group IV

....

Then the contestants of "Group I" will compete against each other, 3 points for win, 1 point for tie, 0 for loose. Person with most points makes 1st place etc. Those with exactly same points get into another competition against each other for a clear positioning.

Then the same for the other Groups.

Phase 3:

Reforming of the Groups:

Group V=

1st place Group I

1st place Grup II

1st place Group III

1st place Group IV

Group VI= the 4 second places of the Groups 1-4

Now, depending on how many contestants we got, we could just take places 1 and 2 into the final decision. Or we continue with the 3rd and 4th places.

Then the contestants of "Group V" will compete against each other and so on, so in the end we'll get a list like that:

Group V

1.

2.

3.

4.

Group VI:

5.

6.

7.

8.

(Group VII: 9.,10.,11.,12.; Group VIII: 13.,14.,15.,16.)

First place is up next for Logo, then 2., then 3., etc.

Logo could change every month (?), that depends on how easy it is to change it.

I would work on the pics to extract a good headshot - just a quick example:

I guess that will make it easier for the one that changes the Logo pic. I can keep track of the periods and forward the next pic in time, so that whoever takes care of the Logo (Maddog?) only has to exchange the pics.

What do you think - is this understandable and fair?

I would like to use it on your board (because your board is cool ).

I have the following rules concerning my hosting : no pop-under or any kind of intrusive add, easy to use and only for safe family pictures.

I hope you authorized me to use my own host on your board (hoping you are the good person to ask ^^),

Sounds like the best way to do it, even though I admit that what I like about the current one is that I can ignore it easier . A lot of members are interrested though, so it should be good for them .

As to feature suggestions though, I have some other requestes even if they may sound a bit strange. For the advertisements, I know we need them obviously, but say that there's one of someone you just can't stand . Could there be or is there a feature whereby you could replace it with another one ? For example, say someone didn't want to look at Russian Brides for Cheap or political stuff on the page they were on, could they have the option to be switched to a randomized other one? I think refreshing the page works sometimes. Also, I got a complaint from a member saying that they early 1900s were taken away as birthday options. He said he was around a hundred, but his age got randomly taken down.

Well, I don't know, I mean, sure, why should he not use his own imagehost, as long as he won't advertise it. What harm could come of it?

But doesn't the advertising use like the connection to google (googlenalytics) to know what you've been looking for? I get tons of shopping links and mostly fashion related stuff - apart from the occasional wannameetsomeone-kind of thing ... I mean as long as my adblock's turned down ...

Based on the rules as long as it is his site or domain and he owns/pays for it, I guess it is ok

If you guys want to go ahead with the banner thing, I won't vote against it and help where needed of course. That was a joke about it being a member when its actually me . I'm 100 and out of nowhere became 99 when the early 1900s were suddenly taken away . I don't know about the advertisements thing, but I think I found the answer to my problem since I now see that when I don't want to look at someone I don't like it usually gives you a fresh one one when I refresh the page.

If you guys want to go ahead with the banner thing, I won't vote against it.

Ja, of course we can prolong the period, maybe a three months' turn? ... but we could decide when the list is finally voted - if there are only annoying girls on we can change it faster

I'll spread the word in the 3 things thread, I think I'll set up the competition on the weekend!

RULES

SHORT VERSION:

Send in up to 10 portrait pictures of your favorite male/femal model/actor until 02.06.12 (12pm CET). Then the poll starts.

LONG VERSION:

Everyone can submit up to 10 favorite portrait pictures of either

Please take current Logo as example. We need a clear view of the FACE.

Hey, Pink. While I hate being a pain in the butt, is it okay to request if ILUVAdrianaLima or ILUVBarbaraPalvin as Dave now goes by, to have his own thread?

I thought he has a thread already but apparently he doesn't---very surprised!

Anyways, based on the guidelines we have set:

- Been registered for more than a year

- Makes more than 5 posts a day, but I am not sure are the majority of them not PIP posts.

- I don't think he has been suspended or received an infraction in the last 6 months

All he needs now is one more active member to nominate him then we vote
