Regarding personal threads - just a thought, but perhaps to avoid constantly opening new ones, we could earmark a particular time when they're awarded. Kind of like the Queen's new year's honours list or the NFL hall of fame (I watched the Superbowl this year ) but on a slightly more regular basis?

My date tonight is a bottle of Lagavulin and a "Where Eagles dare"/"Kelly's Heroes" double header.

With the thread thing, as long as they fit the standard, I don't mind the regularity. On the flip side, for those outside of the staff, Lyon is the only one that strikes me as particularly deserving at the moment anyway .

The report button's definitely not working, as I sent a report on this thread http://www.bellazon.com/main/index.php?showtopic=41940 to test it and nothing came up. What are your thoughts on this? There's a thread for models who's appeal you will never get as well as a not her again thread, is a thread called models you hate really necessary ?

It's a little disheartening to see topics based purely on negativity popping up so often, though I suppose it's slightly preferable to randomly bashing in the models section. That being said, I really don't think we need reams of threads devoted solely to this kind of thing, particularly when they're only slight variations on the same theme.

The report button is still hit and miss as I've tested it several times lately and it didn't work but on the other hand I'm seeing some reports from members again, so that's a start . That email notification is in full swing on the other hand .

I got your report Joe and I merged all three threads into one.

I honestly think the reports are being divided amongst the entire staff, (lets say I report something, chances are strong only one or two of you guys will get the report), which means ALL staff need to be on the ball. If staff are absent for a long period or just don't check their PM's and refuse to do anything then reports are just going to be sitting around and nothing is going to get taken care of unless one of us happens to accidentally run into the offending post/threads.

Could you imagine if everyone of us got the same reports every single day? It'd cause a lot of confusions as to which reports have been dealt with and which ones haven't. o.o

Well, I guess that's it then . Everyone used to get the same reports, but it would just take them to a post where it said edited by so and so I guess. That's a great way to see the glass half full though . I must be like you said then, it now works only with every report goes to a certain few and if one of us reports, some of us could be report buddies I guess and it always goes to that one .

Gang, just a heads up that I've deleted a thread belonging to model Nicole Harrison. There were duplicate threads created by Lost_Soul and DanniCullen, and I received PMs from both members asking for the older one to be removed.

I have received a number of complaints and messages in recent days on the subject of Candice Swanepoel, Adriana Lima and Kate Upton. If things don't simmer down soon I'd like to propose a temporary solution until we can get a handle on it.

To many members are coaching negative, derogatory comments in the form of an opinion and gone to other threads to make them in a way they know is probably like to be inflammatory recently. I swear it's like they are purposely baiting other members in an effort to piss them off, and it's succeeded on a number of levels.

Example: This was posted in Adriana's thread. There was zero reason for Candice to be brought up in such a manner. All it takes is one Candice fan seeing this and we could have an all out flame war. (I've seen it happen for far less things)

Expressing an opinion is one thing, but purposely going out and bashing a girl the way they are doing is just a big no no. (Cherrybomb seem to love going out of her way to express her absolute disdain for Kate lately) I'd like to purpose that if this Kate vs Adriana vs Candice thing doesn't send so that we express a warning, that any further commentary on the above mentioned models that gets an excess of 3-5 reports, (obviously at our discretion) receives a temporary 24 hour suspension of their posting abilities. Obviously editing, and raising warn levels at this point isn't doing anything to curb the flame war, I'm just hoping that this can to some extent help people simmer down and step away from what is clearly a subject near and dear to them.

All of use have our own methods of course as our different experiences and opinions make us more effective as a whole. For me though, I always make my suspensions at least a week or more as if its a day, they could very well just not log on that day and miss the whole idea. In any case though, I say everyone should be suspended upon receiving a second warning regardless of what its for. A long suspension with the last thing they see being an explaination will give them time to think about whether what they did is more important to them than being a member or not. If they decide it is, then we lose nothing. If they come back and learn from it, we gain. I find members who get an unoffical warning first by pm are less likely to require an eventual bannishment. They became accustomed to the idea that we meant business as well as knowing that we're not sitting far off on Olympus somewhere at the same time. Some don't even understand some of the rules. For example, Squeege Bechinhaim used to be a notorious hotlinker and thought posting links was hotlinking or something like that. When I explained it to her, she hasn't done it since. Actually, I've been able to get through to most with the unofficial warning alone (I think its been over a year since I talked to Talisa and I don't think she's offended since). Most are open to logic in a one on one setting I think. Of course there will always be a small percentage that are either simply not socially compatible with the site's requirements or illogical and unreasonable in general . I must say though, the standard of toolism is much different now compared to a few years ago. The elite offenders now would have been considered average back then as now those who insult models are the top villains wereas there used to be more members who insulted both models and members alike.

Just giving everyone a heads up. I just ordered some hardware we need to upgrade to IPB 3.3, it should fix a lot of issues that are currently affecting us (like password resets, spam and what not). Also supposedly it will make everyones life easier for managing users. The parts should arrive in 1-2 weeks and we will upgrade shortly there after. I will keep you posted.

Some random feature suggestions. I don't know how difficult or easy any of them are relative to the person who did the format initially but I figured I might as well throw them out there.

- A search engine on the pm box.

- The option to make the subscribed topics to go to the last post rather than the first one.

- The ability to make a topic invisible to you on your topics list.

- Multiple image uploader.

- The ability to see the picture in the first post when putting the cursor above a topic.

That's great to hear . While I'm at it, we might as well get a general consensus on this. I got a report about a tansgendered model thread. It wasn't a fashion model I don't think, but it doesn't go in male or females technically. Also, I was wondering what the general age cut off is to have a thread. I've deleted the Cruise daughter thread several times with the assumption that a child is obviously too young of course.

hmm good question. If it were a model then it would be fine to put it into whatever male or female thread the person was trying to be. But since you said they are not a model and if they are not a celebrity or person of interest then the thread is probably not relevant for BZ anyways, so deletion is fine.

Interesting topic and something of a grey area, I guess, but for what it's worth, my vote would be for the thread to stay where it is now. She identifies as a woman (a quick Google search suggests that she's been living as such since the age of four and underwent gender reassignment surgery in her late teens) and it says 'transgender' on the topic's subtitle. As long as people read that, there shouldn't be any confusion.

Update on BZ upgrades. The HD's have yet to arrive and they are giving me an ETA of end of April (!) so i canceled order and ordered from a different vendor to see if I can get them quicker. Ill keep yall updated

Hey guys, just wanted to let you know I'm still alive I'm having maaaaajor problems with my internet provider for about 2 month now <_< Apparently they got problems with the cables and are trying to fix it - at least that's what they're saying (and to judge by the construction site in my street it looks like they're really trying to fix it).

I was trying to log in from my work account, but since I've got a new colleague to train who's sitting on my lap the whole day it's quite impossible to get anything private done (apart from having absolutely no time available).

Anyway, I don't want to shout it out loud, but I'm currently sitting on my sofa at home and the connection seems to be stable - at least for now. Hope that means I'm back into business
