Got this Personal Thread request via PM...

Hey, Pink. While I hate being a pain in the butt, is it okay to request if ILUVAdrianaLima or ILUVBarbaraPalvin as Dave now goes by, to have his own thread?

I thought he has a thread already but apparently he doesn't---very surprised!

Anyways, based on the guidelines we have set:

- Been registered for more than a year

- Makes more than 5 posts a day, but I am not sure are the majority of them not PIP posts.

- I don't think he has been suspended or received an infraction in the last 6 months

All he needs now is one more active member to nominate him and then we vote

No objections from me. In addition to the guidelines already set, I think we only have to look at how social and how active they are on the forum. There are certain people around here who I really, really like but at the same time, would have slight reservations about whether they'd be able to make a decent fist of a personal thread. For example, Nightlife is one of my favourite members, but the potential for a thread of his to be untouched for long periods would be pretty high. I don't think ILUV is like that though - he's here regularly and his thread would be well looked after.

Nightlife travels a lot that's why he is here on/off

I plan to vote yes for Dave's thread. Like I said, totally shocked he doesn't have a thread yet.

Got two things to ask for - first is about the Logo competition:

I'm not sure if it's been suggested yet, but we could use a script so that every time the page is refreshed a different logo is used? (Or, well, about a rotation of ten different logos or so are used.)

Good idea, but I know it's not applicable on siggy (I tried it a long time ago )

Doesn't sound bad, but I have no idea if a script-thingy is possible?

and the second:

A newcomer bushpig made advertising posts about him making model portfolios. I deleted those and PMed him about the rules. He replied:

Ok Mel thanks for that.................what if i want to make portfolios for free is that allowed?

Hm, first thing you're allowed to post your website's URL on your "about me" page and you can tell people there that you make portfolios for free. I'll ask the admins if it would be okay for you to open a thread where people could tell you they want one.

I checked his webpage - he really seems to be doing those for free and I thought, maybe he could open a thread similar to LMS' gif requests in the ComputerSubForum? He just designs a page with the stats/infos on a model und you can click through a collection of some pics. Dunno if anyone will be interested in it, but who am I to judge ...

^ I am pretty sure the script thing is possible. I am not sure how to do it. Maddog probably does. I will ask someone regardless

Oh, that must've been after I PMed with him? Can't believe he did even more posts after I told him to stop, what an idiot.

I don't mind ILuv having a thread . As a side note though, I'd like to add Danni to my list of those who I'll vote against during the next staff voting though . She's decent as a member, but if given the ability to delete posts herself would surely infringe on freedom of speech well beyond what the rules call for.

We use to have a rotating banner. But the script got broken when we moved servers and I never fixed it. Once we move to BZ3.0 (?) I will try to fix it again.

Ah, that would be sooo cool, mad!!

And members asked if we could make the Logo bigger? Though I'm not sure if that's a good idea ... If you ever get to fix it, it'll take more time to load, won't it?

Also members were asking if donbot should create the new logo from the pics that will make it to the final voting. If donbot agrees to desing it, it'll make matters easier, I guess. I would've cropped the images to the right size otherwise, so anyone got objections to donbot doing it instead of myself? Seems to be quite talented there!

^ How much bigger would they like the logo to be? It should be ok if the logo was slightly longer width-wise but I would not make it too much wider height-wise. I guess how fast it loads depends on the speed of the member's computer.

As long as he is ok with it, I am ok if donbot designed the logos

Perhaps we can modify the guidelines again so there is no need for 2 active members to nominate someone? What do you the rest of you think?

About the Logo - I will just collect the pictures for now and will talk to maddog about it when it's time. I agree with you though, it shouldn't be any higher ...

I haven't said anything about a thread vor Dave, because I haven't got much to do with him. But it's okay for me if he's to get his own thread.

I got the new drives, the machine is installed, I am currently copying all the data. We should be ready to move to BZ3.0 in the next day or so (or maybe even today if I want to just not test it )

Thanks for the updates ! I also want to say first that the plus side has more than I anticipated. On the other hand, I don't want to be a negative Nancy, but I just want to add a few things .

- Is there any way I could choose not to see the avatars of the last poster ? I'm not asking to take it away from others, but only whether or not there is an option to not see it.

- Can my clipboard be recovered somehow? I had a lot of information on there .

- For a general question, why is there some random comment I made a year ago on someone else's profile is the theme statement of my profile page ?

- Also, is there any way I could go back to only seeing the thread start date in the actual first post instead of being forced to see it ? One of the reasons I say that is because I saw a thread I started on the date one of my pets died and it makes me want to delete it now whereas I wouldn't know otherwise. All in all, great job and I don't want to rain on the parade, but if there was any way I could have a customize option to do without just those two things it would be a big help. If not, thanks for listning anyway .

4) That probably would require a skin change to delete it, shouldnt be an issue but it would apply to everyone not just you. We can probabaly do the same for the little avi's on the main forum view.

On the old forum there was a message tracking option for our PM's. Is there a way we can have that here as well?

^ When we PM a member to inform them of an infraction, we can check whether or not they have read our PM.

I've heard of the message tracker although I was never really sure what it did . I assume it told you whether someone opened your message or not, but not sure.

The clip board used to be under my controls and you could write reminders and things there. All in all, I'm willing to just suck it up with the clip board and avatar thing, but if you could just get rid of the start dates on the outside of the thread, that would be enough for me .
