Sorry for being late.  Since June the 30th though, my knowledge of the Soviets and the Red Army has increased significantly so maybe this will eventually have relevance here.

I'm sure you've seen the  developer's video?  I thought it looked neat but it was a bit...barren.  I know it's a demo but still, there wasn't that much there.  I hope the next few videos will be more interesting.  The Fulton balloon is frankly (lol) funny but amazingly contrived, hah hah.

I did like the expanse of the desert but the demo was a bit too short.  Horse riding? cool

The mother base concept is pretty cool, but the Oil rig looks too barren and lifeless.  I must say, though, that the human animations are really good and the people move & talk quite naturally.

Even with 'next gen' technology, the artificial intelligence seems to be still based around single individuals rather than groups.  It must be still very difficult to code 3-D AI with group behavior.

The Trailer...yes very pretentious. Unfortunately I haven't seen any interesting freaks yet.  I hope that more will show up.

Yeah, the trailer is somewhat pretentious (wouldn't be Kojima otherwise ) and amounts to little more than a montage of potential plot points. Seems to better clarify the tone of the story (one of anger, remorse, and hatred) than the story itself. Overall though, I'd say it's had the desired effect, because I'm now quite excited to see more.

From what I can tell, there are subtle references to events from pretty much all the previous games sprinkled in - the 'Mother Base' oil rig is almost certainly an exact copy of the 'Big Shell' one, while the depiction of African child soldiers appears to be a call-back to Solidus's alleged 'training program' in MGS2, that was said to have raised Raiden. There's an element of Big Boss's uneasy relationship with Ocelot in MGS3 growing into one of direct cooperation, and an encounter with Eli (who may or may not turn out to be a young Liquid Snake), which looks to be a concerted effort by Kojima to bridge the timelines and bring everything full circle for his two leading men.

What interested me most about the whole thing was the changing emblem on Big Boss's arm, from 'Militaires Sans Frontieres' to 'Diamond Dogs'. The soldiers of MSF (although they weren't fully realised characters in 'MGS: Peace Walker') had to be personally selected by the player, which made it easy to get attached to them. I doubt it'll be a prominent part of the story, but I thought it was quite a nice touch for Big Boss to be feeling their loss.

I am terribly late! Hope you are well.

I see you are making lots of contributions with new models.  I had booked these names a few weeks ago during a brief search for new models.

Do you recognize any of them?  They definitely stood out to me at the time but I need to revisit my links again.

jYPgQ3HntrvJU.png

With the bolded, I certainly agree.  The problem with a lot of new models is they just come across a generic thin and very young girl.  I think eventually though, some settle and start to distinguish themselves somewhat in their identity and eventual jobs.

How has the search gone for you?  Have you found winners?

Hiiii!! Been awhile!

Strange enough these days i'm more interested in the newbies/ lesser knowns because its interesting to see who will become a top model/ future legends. I think my problem is I get tired of models really fast, so im always looking for a new face... which probably isn't a good thing lol.

So true when you said "There is a difference between being beautiful and being a great model."  For example a lot of those models from Miami agencies are pretty but they tend to look very amateur-ish. Just one look at them and you can tell right away that they aren't high fashion material. Sure there are different types of modelling, but in my opinion being able to successfully pull off high fashion is what I consider to be the holy grail. A great model has to pose and emote well of course, but I think they also have to be versatile... as in they can do commercial and high fashion without a problem.

I think Camille is very pretty, but I see what you guys are saying. She's not a generic beauty, she's got a little something something to her look. Which is also what I like in a model. You can't just be boring pretty.. you gotta have a unique look to you.

This conversation actually reminds me of a thread idea.  When I get around to it, I'll compile face shots of all my favorite models and place them next to each other.  Others can do the same, and maybe we can discern patterns as to what we're attracted to.

I know, for instance, that I like a lot of Dutch, Brazilian, Baltic, and eastern european top models.

What kind of models do you like?

Good idea for a thread! Did you start it yet?

And good question, I don't notice any trends with me in liking models from particular backgrounds.

Ahhh Rianne is gorgeous, I like your taste. She always reminded me of a particular model... I think I used to get Adriana vibes when I looked at her back in the day.

Frenchkiki told me that Rianne ten Haken was actually in competition with Bianca Balti  at that time, and Bianca Balti essentially won as the two competed for the same jobs with the same looks.  I find that insight pretty interesting

Unfortunately I haven't started the thread yet!  Eventually I think I will make it.  I just need the time first....

Eh, I don't classify people like that.

Just from google image: Her internet footprint is actually quite small, and same for her party pictures.  I saw them on that site and she doesn't do what many in her position would.  There's nothing wrong with having a good time on halloween.......she is not a provocative  person.  The SI thread however, was provocative....... :atoobie:   Her old jobs were, as well and that is the metric that some decided to latch onto.

Horses for courses.  I advocate her because of her traits, and not because I'm looking for another 'expensive' woman.  I like her because she is caricature-like and has the natural body proportions that playmates of the month types usually get surgery for.  Her polas are really good as she's raw in-your face sex appeal.  She's better than most of the girls in the last issue.  Most of the girls in the last issue were not elevated. Believe me, as a model fan of that type I know (Junkyard galleries).  (so I really can't see the argument for that; there isn't one). :

Well, first let me say that I don't hate the girl or anything and I will continue to enjoy the work that she puts out.  However, I do understand other members when they say she might be a little too broad for them and I tend to agree.

Pics like this aren't helping

http://worldredeye.com/2013/10/favela-beach-at-wall-72/

Blond hair, big boobs and partying like this down in Miami aren't helping her achieve the cleaner image that I feel most of the SI girls have.  Take Kate Bock for instance.  She isn't spectacular or anything but I don't think you would see a lot of behavior like that on her instagram unless she was being ironic.  The biggest problem is just in the way she looks for me.  Her face isn't very special.

She can look good sometimes

other times, no

Youtube and imdb is the worst. :-p Better than 4 chan, though!   Generally I find that political forums get the most heated and angry.

About the letters, I trust this because a Civil war era historian told me (he had done research for a book about the campaigns).  As far as forums go, I only post in 2 of them.  BZ and much more rarely, a history forum.   I also visit economic and financial forums to look for information or opinions but never post in them.

As far as BZ goes, I have felt since the beginning that there is an informal rule enforced in the models threads to kill off conversation.  They are discouraged (regarded as de-railing), and thank you's have become the norm.  While this is operationally useful...the 'thank yous' act as a stimulus to get people to spend more and more time contributing...it makes the threads kind of barren as far as opinions go.  So the convention is reduced to one sentence max, and opinion makers eventually settle on using the threads as a soundboard.  Very boring.

To me, this is double-edged sword.   It's good in that it keeps the threads clean of text  but it also doesn't attract those that are interested in providing verbose and interesting commentary.  This is essential for making the forum entertaining and alive, and drawing a larger userbase.  But I can see how this would also make managing BZ much more difficult and it would not be in the interests of the principal.

As you know, with me and models I rarely stick to one and I don't care about their personal lives.  There are a few that I'll hold onto - Edita is one, Constance is another and so is Nimue (who recently graduated from college and is back into modeling).  She just did Nordstrom.

with Karlie I prefer her with long hair, dresses, editorials, runway, and 'high fashion' thinness.  Since she worked for VS, she's had her hair chopped and moved a bit away from that.  Now she's doing NIKE and athletic stuff which frankly I find even more awkward to see due to how tall she is.  However, I have her 'full editorial review' on my 'to do list' for my galleries thread.

So what things are you interested in as of late?

That is a good point about both the back in the day letters and the posts. I notice that some seem to say 'thanks' almost exclusively in model threads. I appreciate the sentiment, but generally just thank them in pm to avoid wasting space with it . One thing I will give BZ credit for is there seems to be a general standard of etiquette that I haven't seen on many of the places where I've read comments. I'm not a true forum connoisseur, but just in reading Youtube comments and some posts on 'men's' forums here and there, I see the phrase 'go shoot yourself in the face' as a regular comeback during an argument . We've had some difficult people here and there, but its hard for me to imagine someone here saying something like that even during a heated argument. Oh yeah, I don't know if you still like Karlie Kloss or not. I know you didn't care for her randomly cutting all her hair anyway. I met someone one day that knows her based on EdibleSchoolYard. That stood out to me because I don't see too many people who know the current models, so it was interesting to see someone who knew her based on something outside of modeling or entertainment in general.

Charlotte has a great bikini body but still can't quite get over that face. She's not ugly, it's just not very expressive (from my perspective anyway).

Of course, there are other SI models for whom this has been an issue. Though I don't think it's necessary to add to their numbers!

Her body...is her overwhelming feature to me.  As I told Kbutt, I miss seeing that type of body posing.  Otherwise, same opinions.

My Swimsuit model (and model...)of the week is definitely Hanale Reponty.  I can't believe I ignored her until now.  What a goddess.  She has a pretty interesting body of work, and her portfolio is definitely on my to do list .

Also, Camila Morrone is another goddess that I just discovered.  The same applies to her!:

Only just watched it, more's the pity. I've been pushed for time as of late, so I'm playing a bit of catch-up.

I tend to agree that it all comes across as being sparse and a bit sketchy, but I was impressed by the sheer scale of the oil rig, as well as the prospect of being able to customise it. Loved the Fulton balloon thing too, the notion of a screaming guy being sucked up into the air within spitting distance of an oblivious ruck of enemy soldiers is absolutely preposterous, even by MGS standards. Needless to say, I plan on using it at every available opportunity. I'm guessing it's a concerted effort on Kojima's part to reinstate some of the sillier elements of the series, like the much-loved cardboard box (which I'm happy to see being showcased in this one) from the old MGS1.

Also like the look of the horses, puts me in mind of the riding mechanic that Rockstar developed for 'Red Dead Redemption'. I'm not sure if anyone has topped that, even four or five years down the line.

The Fulton balloon was used in 'The Dark Knight'.  Remember?  It's when he abducts the man in Hong Kong.  It's a bit odd how he can abduct (in this case) Soviet troops.  I wonder how he will develop that.

I don't remember the horses in Red Dead actually defecating...tee hee

Currently, I taking notes for this book and gotten half way.  It's simply the most fascinating military history book I've ever read from a pure entertainment persepective.  It's exhausting and enlightening.  This book follows the day to day progress of this military force, and creates a very vivid picture as to what happened.  I believe that the military adventure of this division from June 28th 1942 to their destruction in 1943 is among the greatest untold war stories and is possibly is a combination of the most skillful, violent, intense, and dramatic war fighting of WW2.  The summer offensive and the fighting to conquer Stalingrad from August to Nov 1942 (from the German side) is not done better anywhere else from what I've seen.

This book was being bidded for $400 plus for a long time until Stackpole got the rights and reprinted it this year.

It's a remarkable book and the most enthralling piece of military history I've ever read.  To me, it is about a very special subject and about a special group:  It's about the most intense and costly battle of the war and perhaps even all of human history and it follows the 'assault spearhead' of the offensive.

This is the "50 years by Steven Meisel".  Full set, HQ:

I like how they collected many top models and put them together, but I find the photoshoot 'blurriness' and old photo feel to be ineffective.  Instead of giving it a timeless impression, I find that it just gives an excuse to seemlessly airbrush the faces of many of the older models.......... :neo2:

Still, a lot of great models here.http://minus.com/mOf6eT4Sqf43F

Thanks for these ideas, Model.  However, I created my Junkyard thread not out of sense of community gifting, but rather self-centerness.   My original post was essentially admitting that I only save the things I like and will only post the things I like.  Thankfully, I had a large quantity of resources and I know that people have interests that intersect with mine.  (this is my...assumption if you will )  I do like giving back to the forum, but not to the extent where I will use my limited hobby time to browse & save materials on models that I'm not personally interested in.

As far as model types go, I naturally go towards the top 100 high fashion models.  I guess my taste is similar to the elites, although much of it is caused by the basic fact that these women simply have more opportunities to do quality shoots.   I do like some e-commerce and commercial models and wish that they would eventually make it big.

However, your ideas are really good ones, and I had attempted something like that before with alternate sourcing- Frenchkiki had helped by giving me great editorial sources, so I was able to post a lot of quality editorial reviews of top models a few months ago.

I think you are so generous with your efforts, model and should be recognized as such more than you currently are.  You deserve it!

I think you are completely insightful with the mutual help and effort part. Essentially what you are hinting at is proactive leadership and stimulation.  I see that good things are possible, but it does require the cultivation of motivation and morale on this forum.  The most important thing, of course is the reward.  How to cultivate a rewarding experience?  That's a difficult question that I don't have clear answers or insights to.  The first step is impossible without presenting an example to others, and making the first step by taking effort first.  Then expanding the bridgehead from there with trails of efforts.

AS a poster here, I have always known the importance of morale, and had cultivated more in the past although with different activities than yours.  It is though a fact of life that motivation ebbs and flows and eventually that pillar that held the spirit up is worn down quite a lot.  You are hinting at repair and renewal, and that is something that requires a little bit of courage..the courage to make a good effort, and to think & promote of the interests of others for a change via the cultivation of shared interests.

I think the very first step to think and discuss what these shared interests may be?  There are lots of 'social parasites' and non-contributors that browse Bellazon.  They are an untapped resource.  The hard question to me is how to activate them? How to stimulate their interests to take the first step of participation?  I think Baron was the very best of this, although even his extensive efforts eventually wore down over the course of many years.

My morale has sadly reached a trough this year although the future is always uncertain, and there is hope  The causes of the drop are obvious: loss of participation of long time forum interest-buddies and also extensive hobby experience (the bright, shiny object dulls with time...).  In that we are united......

A lot of people here focus on New York, Paris, and Milan Shows as well as VS. There are tons of shows out of Berlin, London, Sao Paolo, and Syndey that are relatively easy to find. There are lots of smaller show that some of the more commercial like models have done. I keep finding these shows and finding really popular e-commerce girls in these types of shows. We used to have a couple of members who did a lot with show but they aren't as active anymore. Maybe you could upload those. Maybe focus on the older shows and events (or anything else) because there are people who are really into the newer shows and the upcoming editorial girls.

I think I am the only one who even posts images from Istanbul, South Africa or Indian Fashion Weeks. Pretty much every city has a fashion week and their own fashion market. I know there are people on Fashionspot who really focus on Australian fashion week. I could easily start a list on that. I could even start a list of shows for us to try and find of other cities. Because there are so many places to find images but most of us don't share them because there are people who aren't respectful about it. I feel the people who post in here are. We could be extremely collaborative and find images of models we are all interested in and really be a cooperative thread. Since Mahi and Culticon are into more editorial models and shows, this would be great for them. I am not sure what the other member who participate in this forum are interested in, otherwise I would add that here. I like shows but I am more of a magazine and campaign contributor. I wish I had more time to upload shows because I know a lot of obscure shows.

A lot times we bypass a model we aren't interest in or don't recognize. That's why I started the Print ad of the world thread. There are so many ads with models that I don't know or don't like. I feel its a way for people to find the models they like so I post every ad I come across.  So instead just posting images from a particular show with just Eniko or Tori, we could post an array of images from that event or campaign. We could help one another identify or even share sources to find more images.

What do you guys think? I know Culticon finds interesting images and just places them here, but I am sure there are areas that we all overlap on as well as other that we don't. This way we all help one another find stuff that the other wouldn't come across. I don't want to change Culticon's concept of this thread so it's entirely up to you on how you would like to expand on this. You shouldn't have to do all the work either. We should be helping you too. I have my own thread similar to this where I take request and post random stuff I find that people ask for but it shouldn't be one-sided. We should be helping one another because there are so many leechers on this forum now. We have also lost a lot of the really active contributors on this forum for an array of reasons. I appreciate the people who do contribute and do socialize. The members who are like this should all be here participating in these type threads instead of being isolated and associating with members who are just disrespectful and leech the system.  I am sure I am preaching to the choir and I did not mean for this to be a long tirade but I feel that some things need to be said.

I like the idea of this thread and would love to help out with it. Cult, I just think we need a little more direction on how you would like this thread to progress. Just tell us how we can help make this a better thread and I will try my best to be more active.  I just made a few suggestions based on upon your interest how we could expand it, if you don't like it just tell us where you want to go with it. If you like those ideas, I will get started immediately. I will share my sources as well. I also will be PMing people about this thread because this is a good idea. Just like Mahi's Catalog thread is a brilliant idea. IF you haven't checked out the catalog clothing thread, check it out.

I would like advise I guess, with the new 'assumption' that I just told you.  Literally I just post things that I like...and I had wondered whether the way I packaged the thread had problems.  The content of my galleries, according to my personal biases of course, should be more wide ranged and attractive I would believe.  With the large number of views it has, it looks to me that persons do check my thread, but they do not feel the need to post in it at all.  This is the phenomenon that had confused me.

I do save a lot of things regarding commercial work but they are definitely not organized by model.  If you'd like, I can distill a gallery of commercial photos...if not then that really is the extent of what I do.  Thanks to you, sincerely

I hope so too, although I don't know to what extent.  I feel like a poster from a previous generation.  Generation 2010-2013 This thread of mine has been inactive since August 2014...

Merry Christmas Cult. I hope for another great year discussing models/stufff with you here

So, to those that are curious:  What have I been doing in 2014 instead of posting at BZ ?

I've been doing in-depth hobby stuff (mastering operational WW2 eastern front history) at night instead of posting on BZ in 2014.

But I'm pretty much done with most of what I wanted to accomplish, so my efforts there will be much more limited and I may want to post on BZ more.

Anyway, I'll get back sometime this week. Promise!
