No, I haven't! The ugliest fish I've ever seen is the one with the 'lamp' on its head. Do you know what I've referring to?

Yeah, the anglerfish. Uglier than this though, really? It looks like a horrible fleshy glove puppet piercing through a normal shark

So much ugly in the deep sea <_<

And yeah that 'why not?' sort of mentality came through a bit in Scott's commentary. I like listening to him, but he did seem rather.. arrogant is perhaps too strong a word.. unapologetically pleased with himself and the film, in the way he talked about it and why some things were done the way they were.

Toni Garrn has 70/30 American/German accent. And she's adorable and gorgeous

Anne V., looking hot at D squared

Have you seen Blade Runner? It's a better film (should have rated higher in my list, in fact), but also disjointed and full of little random nuggets & mysteries. There is also a final confrontation with a 'superman' of sorts.

Hey Andi, did u catch the lighting show on the Empire State building on Nov. 26th? First ever use of the new LED lighting system in sync with a song. They used Alicia Keys "Girl is on Fire and Empire State of Mind" song for it all. What a magnificent sight to say the least

No, I wasn't in the city on the 26th for this particular thing, but there are other, less grand.. buildings that have that capability, and play Christmas/or other holiday-themed songs.

no, I don´t - well, I don´t have that much money for everyone anyway

You know what's a bit annoying? Getting a small gift card that has too little purchasing power relative to the items in the store. I was once given $100 gift card @ a store that regularly sells clothing that are at least $200 or 300 per article. The only things that were in that gift range were small items like ties, designer soaps, and overly scented cologne...

I will post pics of those when finished in my thread I´m doing a strongbox for my sister, and also a picture of a cat tattoo I drew long ago:

but "carved" into wood by the engraving pen I have. For my niece, I did some kind of "merry-go-round" that will hang from the ceiling, with heads of Hello Kitties hung on it, it´s hard to describe, I will rather post a pic later

And I also plan (but I do not know if I´m gonna have enough time for it) to do something similar like the picture on wood for my sister, only with horses - for my father.

These gifts are much better than store bought ones for sure. Gift-giving is difficult as people gift themselves twice a month and buy whatever they want these days.....

Which kind of courses were they?

Why did you choose economics in the end instead of engineering/military career?

Financial courses :=)

Also, I think a different approach reveals more: Why did I even consider it? There's probably 20 good reasons why I shouldn't have...! And I only knew perhaps 5 back then. So I set myself off for a different path.

Three a year?

Wow, you must choose wisely then

Just recently. For the past 3 years I haven't been watching so many films at all, so the list I have here is really quite old. I'm sure that if I would re-evaluate my list if I were to rewatch these films and others I've seen again. Before that, I usually watched 1 or 2 films a month. But I watch films that I rate (at least 4/5) very carefully, and get some mileage out of it (in the form of conversation, thought, enjoyment etc.)

I am watching less and less too, I always regret spending so much time on computer afterwards, I simply don't notice...

What's it like to have high speed internet ever since you were small child?

Do you know tumblr challenges?

I plan starting many, many of them. and like posts of movies I want to see desperately, but I think I don't even watch 2 out of 10 I plan too..

Ah well, blogging about it is just as much fun an less time-adsorbent.

No, I don't. What are they?

It's depressing, but so are many movies I like. Don't ask me why.

I have thought myself to not watch them right before going to bed though, it's impossible to sleep afterwards!

It's been maybe 7 years since I watched 'Taxi Driver.' It's upsetting in the way that it portrays an alienated person as he slides deeper and deeper into insanity. I find it peculiarly unpleasant as New York is deeply familiar to me, and so is seeing the homeless and poors that occupy some of its streets and the subway system. If I remember correctly, 'Taxi Driver' does feature Times Square before its cleanup and subsequent tourist-friendly commercialization. It used to be home for a small, local cluster of sex shows and shops.

Tom Hanks can do no wrong to me.

He's not only a hell of an actor, but also a comical genius.

As for Mean Girls- me and my friends scream every line at the television, and I couldn't think of any Oscar-winning movie to beat that

Do you compare the characters in 'Mean Girls' to people in your high school?

I know exactly what you mean like here in my work they were giving peple gift cards to one of the most expensive hotels in town - however the gift cars have not even covered 30% of the costs that one night there would cost them

Yes, it´s hard to buy something they don´t have. That´s why I decided to create something instead. But I don´t have time to create a gift for everyone, so the others will receive a bought gift - however my brother is a keen book fan, so it´s easy with him, and my mother likes almost anything I´ll buy her... but I´m glad I don´t have to buy ALL the gifts this year.

Financial courses :=)

I think I can understand why did you consider it, as you are a real fan of these things - but I also think that you have an economist mind, and that financial area suits you better but who knows??

Haha, I wish I had!

My parents live on a farm, and it's just a tiny bit too far away from city-lines to have 'cabel' which provides fast internet and television.

Bless whoever invented wifi

No, I don't. What are they?

There are many, many of them. But the main ones are '300 movies a year'-challenges.

There's a special layout you can put on your blog, and put the posters of ones you watched (or someone told you to watch), comments, ratings, etc in.

I never thought of Times Square having a dark side like that...

Maybe that's what I like about depressing movies, they can show so many different aspects..

Do you compare the characters in 'Mean Girls' to people in your high school?

I am actually very happy and grateful for the people currently attending my school.

In Holland, 'high school' takes either four, five or six years, depending on your level.

After the first three years, the students that will continue for another 2/3 years move to another location, which in my opinion is a really good system.

The first three years were a bit messy, with cliques very 'Mean Girl-esque'.

But now -honestly- I haven't seen a single person being bullied in a school teaching 800 students. :

I always imagine American schools to be full of cheerleaders and football-players vs. bandgeeks

But I assume reality is different?

I made a Kati Nesher gallery and will be uploading it sometime. But not today. So she's 27 and has a 2-year old. That makes her retirement age, You know, I did notice talk of her age on her thread and I found it rather unhappy that top models start falling once they've reached or 'look like' they've reached their late 20s. I find that cutoff to be completely unnecessary. I miss Julia Stegner and Flavia.

Layla, are you sad that Gossip Girl is no more? What do you make of the GG experience?

With movies...since they're all online now I just click and grab em', and 'skim' through them here and there then delete. I don't finish too many movies because the industry is full of chaff and I rarely feel like watching the whole thing. But when I see good movies, I pay very close attention, and watch it repeatedly.

Yes, I've heard that it's long in Holland. It's longer in other countries as well. In the US, it's only 4 years total.

The 'cliques' that were shown in the film are fairly accurate, and so is the extreme 'bubble-like' nature of public high school. Reality is filtered through by the institution and distorted once it reaches the minds of the students..

---

As far as movies, go, I am watching 'Motorcycle Diaries' and will finish the second half soon.

Polina Kouklina is so beautiful! Unfortunately after a good run she's off the radar at the ripe 'so-called' old age of 26......
