Well, Baron, my advice is "Hold on to the Nights" that bliss 
for what is seen cannot be unseen. That's a hard one and a top 100 would actually be easier for me than a top 10 since there are so many worthy of such disdain.
Pointlessness is kindof broad in that reality television and modern media as well as the whole concept of celebrities has made pointlessness serve a point, just a point I'd like to avoid. I guess that would only leave me to say which serve the least point to me. I didn't put much thought into it, but wanted to answer right off the top of my head the way I would on the street . That said, as requested...
My Top 10 Most Pointless Celebrities
In the context of narrowing it down, I had to raise my personal bar to consider the fact that in my sick mind, bad acting is hilarious and thus purposeful. As a result, those pointless on those grounds didn't make the cut.
10. Kardashians/Basketball Wives/Perez Hilton - Kloe is sometimes funny and reminds me of some of my female friends, Kim isn't bad to look at and isn't a bad glamour model. The rest are total dead weight, though none should be famous. The Basketball Wives aren't as annoying or popular as some of the others, though its pretty awful television. That said, they are all still extremely annoying, have no talent and are criminally overrated. As to Perez, maybe as annoying as any of the rest, but serving as an inadventent mockery of media culture, (somewhat like Bieber is an inadvertent mockery of pop culture) makes him at least slightly more useful than the others.
9. John and Kate/Laguna Beach/The Hills People - there's some controversy as to whether The Hills is really 'reality' or not. I don't care. The only thing that matters to me is that every single last one of them is lame and annoying. As to John and Kate, John is a tool and Kate is annoying and eight small children all talking at once didn't really help the problem much.
8. Nicole Richie - she might actually be even more pointless than Paris since Paris is at least a little more fun to make fun of, but since she isn't as annoying, I gave her a couple points.

Victoria Beckham - she basically made terrible music with a group 15 some odd years ago and married someone who used to be good at soccer or something, I'm not attracted to her in the least and despite being on TV regularly, I still have no idea what she does now. I don't hate her by any stretch, but just don't get the craze. She would be higher, but since she's supposedly a style icon, I gave her the benefit of the doubt and gave her a couple points.
6. Sean "Diddy" Combs - one of the most arrogant celebs of all time, a shaddy businessman, mediocre musician, media whore, used to be cool until the first time he spoke on camera. I could go on like that, but you get the point.
5. Ke$ha - she set pop back several years and white girl rap back 100 years (which puts it back 200 years since it started off minus 100 years). She's not the highest musician because her music is the worst (though it may be tied for the worst) or even because her dancing is as bad as her voice. The reason I have her as the most pointless singer is usually girls in maintream pop (Rhihanna, Cheryl Cole, Katy Perry ect.) with music this bad are marketed under the pretense of having "the look" or "the image" and I'm sure there's no model that can talk who would sound worse, which means this is just bad music for bad music's sake.
4. Paris Hilton - an easy target to be sure, so I won't say much, but there's no way to not include her.
3. Siblings of famous people who are famous despite no one knowing or caring what they even do - you know who you are.
2. Howard Stern - he's not funny, he's not witty and quite frankly, I'm not shocked by anything he says. Maya Angelou has a saying, "If someone shows you who they are, believe them." All I need is a fool to show me they're a fool that first time and after that, nothing they say can shock me. After that, if its not funny, it serves no purpose to me. That said, I see a 'shock jock' with no intellectual, unique or creative perspective nor perceptible comedic talent to be utterly pointless.

Jersey Shore People, Real Housewives, Kevin Federline, The Bachelors, The Bachelorettes, Toddlers and Tiaras, Sweet 16 and the like. - Jersey Shore is possibly the poster child for the self evident truth that the reality craze has gone to far. The Bachelors and Bachelorettes are possibly the most boring shows in the history of television and exist only to validate Flavor of Love, Rock of Love and Real and Chance. Federline is a lazy, talentless, kept man using 15 year old slang. The fact that Paris and Kim (who actually work) are 100x more hated than a man just as stupid who won't work to take care of his children was in his prime pretty much examplifies the sexism of the world. If Paris were a man, she'd basically be Colin Ferrel with rich parents. A man would have to be an ultra tool or a terrorist to be hated that much. Toddlers and Tiaras is possibly the worst show in the history of civilization to make it to more than one season.

Correct me if I'm wrong Joe, but is the main 'accusation' for Perez that he puts pressure on certain celebs to come out...? I mean, I visited the site just 2 or 3 times, and one of these times I saw a picture of "Gossip Girl" guys with, akhem, white drops drawn on them How, I mean.... ugh. And I hadn't noticed until I read about it somewhere that he was in "S&M" video. He's got such a stupid face... also, I'm pretty sure he crossed the line too many times... I don't know if you've heard it, but about 2 years ago or so, he posted a blind item which clearly pointed at Lily Allen. EDIT: I found a statement from Lily and it's from 2008. Anyway, he suggested that she had a miscarriage because she was taking drugs while pregnant. I'm not sure if it wasn't the second time losing.... she had a few miscarriages 
anyway, here's a part of her statement:
He [Perez]insinuated I was smoking during my pregnancy, which was not true, ask anyone who knows me, I didn’t touch a cigarette or a drink for the few months that I was pregnant, he also insinuated there was something suspicious about me having a miscarriage, which is just wrong, but I’m not going to go into how painful that whole episode was.

LMAO Joe, 'good at soccer or something' when describing one of the most recognizable sportsmen in the world she owns a fashion label now which presents every season in New York now and gets good reviews. However, I have no idea how many clothes she 'designs' there.

@ the ocean thing and as to the guy's site, yeah, I guess he tries to do whatever stupid things will get him attention no matter the cost. Glad you like it , but I said "used" to be good at soccer and just for effect unlike every other thing said . Although, here not only is soccer not one of the most popular sports, but athletes for the most part aren't important or even mentioned in general entertainment news independant of scandal or dating an actress, singer or reality star. Thanks for the fashion show info, that benefit of the doubt for the fashion thing was in case you'd add some perspective and you delivered . To be honest, 10-7 are by comparisson to fill the ranks, but I can't express enough how strongly I feel about 6-1
