Yeah, I guess its only natural for me to say I wish they'd do this or that, but at the end of the day I respect them more for going by what they feel rather than marketing and profit only. Of course they make enough of a profit anyway, so it works out for them .

Yeah, its definitely not an easy thing by any stretch. Even though being (a good) actress takes more talent, some make like one movie a year whereas to be an in de mand model you may be traveling here and there, possibly even having to be at least competant in languages you've never learned on your own, catering to the egos of designers who fancy themselves artistic legends in their own time and so on. The greatest sacrifice of course being rich without living it up on the food end. I can't imagine having such discipline. Ribs, bacon (sorry Piggy), pizza, ice cream, skrimps, steaks, cookies, decadence, abandon, delight, ummmmmm .

Lately I come to think that you really don´t have to be talented to become an actress. Mostly good looks makes it all... for me there are really few talented actresses out there - and take all those shitty movies with shitty actors that are made every year. And just like you said, one movie a year is sufficient, whether even a good model has to work her ass off if she doesn´t want to be forgotten. Take Harry Potter stars - they are young, have made 7 movies and if they´d like to, they won´t have to work at all for the rest of their lives. Those are insane money we can´t even imagine. Don´t think the same thing can happen in fashion world

The sacrifice is another thing. I always tell people - do you think it´s that easy? So go and try it, for goddame sake. Even with so many models claiming they can eat everything and never put on weight, almost every one works her ass off. Take Gisele for example... she has great genes, but still exercises a LOT.

Not even mentioning the presure that is put on them to look the way designers or photographs want to. Always friendly and full of energy and always looking the best. How many people you know that are this way??

Hello, thanks for stopping by . I do, thanks ! Actually, it says I'm already subscribed even I think I just didn't comment because I didn't find anything to post . I know that's the story with a few of your and some other people's topics I'm subscribed to at least. Here's one you might like, maybe? If not I understand of course .

Though they have some size discrimination for the most part, if you gain a little weight, you can take a role where you're covered up and have your Maxim shoot photoshoped. Of course there's photoshop in fashion too, but there's still far more pressure to be a certain size ect. Some of the look oriented actresses are actually so bad that I'm not sure any random VS model would do any worse. The issue of actresses taking magazine covers is a big deal in fashion, but I wonder if models will eventually return the favor by taking more acting roles. Actually, I saw Selita randomly guest starring on a show and she was actually better than some of them . I had intended to do a worst working actress list after the worst actor one, but it was a little difficult . Of course, some I only even know are actresses because there is a separate actress forum. I would just think of them more like a commercial model otherwise.

And agree with you. It´s kinda ridiculous when I see people critising models-turned-actresses in their first or second roles. I´m like, what the hell, 80% of nowadays actresses does nothing better when it goes to acting, lol.

You only need to watch any of the smattering of model documentaries around to see what a tough job it is. Sure, the rewards can be great - but, like footballers too who get paid huge amounts at the top of the ladder, there are great swathes of young women and men toiling for little money and respect at the bottom. And most, at that, only burn brightly briefly.

Yeah, they definitely have more freedom there, maybe even more than some women . Some can even say the b**** word and women just laugh along with them whereas of course a straight man saying it would have a problem on his hands . At first I found it somewhat odd that a gay Asian man would be the casting director for VS, but it probably goes back to the art over supply and demand thing.

I'll have to work on it or at least the parameters (such excluding D list horror movies and models with two movies and such). I haven't noticed the magazine thing with the major ones over here at least though they publish in several countries of course. I know all of the Asian covers I've seen have European models more than anything else. In any case, the last time I checked the Numeros of the world were sticking to the models .

Yeah, that's true. There's so many of them it seems inconceivable that agencies can really give great attention to them all. I guess that's why some agency hop so much .

This is still in development but I did set some perameters. I don't factor in women not known primarily as actresses (if one wants just another avenue to pick on socialites, there's enough material to do it already) and I don't factor in unknowns in D list horror movies ect. I also somewhat resent the whole practice of throwing in oscar winners thought to be undeserving just to make a point or someone widely respected just for shock value. I prefer to just cut the politics and get to it.

10. Megan Fox - Of those on the list, I think she has the most potential because she's shown in the vampire movie and the second Transformers movie that she can at least express sadness to some degree. I also think her status as the worst was somewhat exhagerrated somewhat out of rebellion for how overexposed she was in her fifteen minutes. That said, the reason it is or was bad (besides her seeming inability to be anything but Megan Fox) is the combination of her unnatural, awkward delivery of her lines and how awkwardly she attempts to convey every other emotion.

3. Hilary Duff - I started to give her a pass under the criteria but then I forgot that her singing is largely due to the Disney cash cow train.

2. Eva Mendes - though she was discovered as a music video girl rather than an actress, I think she's been working primarily as an actress long enough to be considered primarily an actress. With her, its mostly in the painfully awkward delivery of her lines. She says her lines like someone reading a cue card that came a few seconds too late. That of course doesn't leave much room to properly emote said lines. Though the movie was nothing to brag about as a whole, the scene in Ghost Rider where she's playing a reporter on the scene might be as bad as any acting I've seen .

1. Lauren German - like the others here, her looks is her main appeal. She maybe could have even been a commercial model if she were tall. That said, she takes it to a different level. Think Tom Welling bad without even the effort. She not only delivers her lines really unnaturally and awkwardly, but somehow makes each one seem like an obstacle. On top of all that, she seems incapable of expressing anything that even vaguely resembles emotion and when she's called to do so in serious situations in particular it can be very uncomfortable to watch.

It's a female dog w/ a genetic mutation that gives her double muscles. I remember Ahhhnold stating in his bodybuilding book that since the age of 14 he had unusual..'talents'...in this area as well. :-D

Yeah, that was one of my many avatars . There's a lot of odd cat and animal breeding and mutating out there, but on the other hand I guess a lot of breeds that seem common to us now probably seemed that way when they were new I guess .
