Thanks for the video .

Sorry about the tenticle thing . That's interresting to know about apes too. I had always heard that gorillas were very faithful and that chimps slept around .

So, picking nose is pretty hardcore in Japan, huh.

You must watch the entire video for the full effect

What we did 1945 changed the future generations of Japanese people on a molecular level. O.o

Let me translate: Japan, why the fuck?

10 secs Let's not make this too stereotypical.

I hope no one finds this confusing without the quoting thing .

Oh, as to whether I miss living there, I don't know since there's more women I have more friends in the city and there's also air conditioning here . I would probably prefer it if I just had a log cabin out in the middle of nowhere with no work involved though .

Well thanks and sure thing .

LOL, where do you find this stuff ? I thought there was nowhere to go after the naken alien chasing the woman, but they never cease to surprise me . They may not be cool like the pre nuked Japanese of old, but they still have a heck of a life expectancy, so maybe the weirdness is healthy for them somehow .

I was ashamed that I know so much about the 40s-70s compared to the 80s, so I've been doing a little research and listening lately. Since I'm in no way an expert, I can understand someone seeing this or that as being a shameful omission of course, but this is just off the top of my head.

Most 80s Sounding Songs

There are some 80s hits that I could have easily mistaken for the late 70s (some of the funk and R&B) or early 90s (R&B, Rap, Country and some others). Some I couldn't

have mistaken. I'm not sure how to do the code thing under this format, so I'll try to fix that. I also had all of the videos under the titles, but the system said I exceeded the number of allowed media file even when I cut it down to 5 or 6 of them .

15. It Must Have Been Love

This song kindof brings home the idea that the 80s had some remarkably catchy hooks. I somehow imagine that if I heard the 'Over Now' part once when I was in pre-

school I'd still remember it instantly.

14. Nasty Boys

13. Take On Me

I heard this song in a nerdy food store one time and had no idea what he was saying, but was determined to fing the name of it. It turns out that the video is great

too.

12. Bad

Though Jackson was the top star of the 80s, some of his songs could have been right at home either in the late 70s or the early 90s and some can't really be labeled by

an era or trend. This one however is unmistakably 80s.

11. Girls Want to Have Fun

10. Nothing But a Good Time

Apparently, hair metal had such a good time that the only place left for hard rock to go was the depressive subject matter of the early 90s grunge scene. Poison

weren't one of the most talented bands of the time by any stretch and there's not a lot of meat to this song, but its got the 80s sound to it anyway.

9. In the Air Tonight

Pretty much any Phil Collins song from the time could have made the list or at least be first in line right outside of it, but I figured this was a good one to choose.

8. We Built this City

I can't personally endorse this one, but I couldn't exclude it.

7. What a Feeling

It almost makes me want to get some latex, big socks and a headband and just get to work .

6. Get Out of My Dreams (Get into My Car)

Never Gonna Give You Up

I couldn't choose between these two. One thing's for sure, if you're the depraved sould that's even attempting to look at Charlie Bit me more than once stumble upon a

version that was uploaded a month ago, this is what you deserve. As a matter of fact, this is what you need because its catch in a good way.

5. Like a Virgin

I've never been a fan, but I must say that I admire her ability to have a distinctive identity in different eras. Even though I must also say that its amazing to me

that this video has just over half a million views and Fly on the Wall by Miley Cyrus has 73 million. That said, this is definitely an 80s joint.

4. Shout (These are the Things I Can Do Without)

I didn't even look it up to confirm when this was made because I'm just that sure its an 80s song. I don't know much about these guys, but I must say that even though

their voices aren't strong in the traditional sense, their melodies and phrasing make everything they say is somehow hypnotyzing.

3. Straight Up

In Paula we can see the evolution of the modern, commercial pop star. The 80s brought us studio enhanced vocals and music videos. As a result, having the look started

to become important although not yet manditory. Although she didn't have a strong voice, she was a choreographer and could actually dance. At some point, even the

dancing was cast aside and female dancing was replaced with simply gyrating done by women that can't sing or dance. That said, I couldn't have the list without this

one.

2. 99luft Balloons

I kindof went back and forth with this one as this song just screams 80s to me. I don't even have a clue what she's even saying or whether its even in English or not

and I actually kindof like it that way .

1. Everybody Wants to Rule the World

Here these guys are again as this song seems almost like a hot tub time machine or something and just makes you feel like you're there.

On that subject, I guess I might as well say a few things...

Random Olympics Observations So Far

I loved the opening ceremony ! I was tired of the debates about whether it could live up to Bejing before it even started and though I agree that it doesn't live up to that level of spectecle, I was on the edge of my seat and enjoyed all of it greatly .

I got to see sports like rowing, shooting and fencing that I say I like, but don't make any real effort to keep up with generally and thus felt like a poser . That said, I still enjoyed them greatly and will try to see if I can find them.

Gymnastics girls kindof look like muscled preteens which I find a bit off putting. I assume they must give them some kindof anti hormone injections to both hault puberty as well as growth. Although my loyalties are not divided on any front and I wouldn't root against my own country, I couldn't help but favor this one from the UK just by seeing her stats as 27 years old and over 5 feet tall . That said, even though its not what I would want for my own child, I admire their sacrifice and hard work.

On the guy's side, though they're not the most masculine, with their pound for pound stregnth, flexibility and high tolerance for pain, they have the tools that would be considered ideal in martial artist in another life. Well, the same could be said for the females.

It seems that bike riding is something that I love to do, but somehow can't get into it as a sport. That's probably because of the fact that as long as it takes a long distance runner to get tired, I assume that it takes a professional cyclist even longer seeing as how they're not supporting their full body weight by contrast.

On the side of gymnastics, the American media had already proclaimed Weiber the hero of the girl's team. When she came in third on her own team and was disqualified from all around medal contention as well as the team relying on Gaby primarily for the team gold, they still won't abandon the idea . That isn't her fault of course as she and all the girls worked hard and deserved the victory.

I was impressed with the Missy Frnaklin story as she not only does what she does because she loves it, she's turned down tons of money in endorsement deals in order to stay on her high school team. The 6'2, 17 year old swimming sensation has also been offered to move to California to get more reputable coaching, but decided to stay with her own local coach even though he doesn't have Olympic experience. To counter the criticisms that she isn't maximizing her talent as a result, she says that she is maximizing her talent where she is because being with her friends and family makes her happy and loving what she does helps her the most.

I never cared for beach volleyball, but the Misty team are very entertaining.

The Europeans that get beat down by the U.S. men's ask for autographs after the games .

The American women's volleyball team cleaned up, but Korea's Kim Yeoung-Kung was still entertaining and unstoppable .

China is a tough one to beat in the gold count although basketball and track and field are America's to lose and I'm not sure how China will fare in the upcoming events in general.

Its interresting that Italy was competing against each other in fencing. I didn't realize they were so dominant in that. At least I assumed that was the UK's chance since that style came about in the Renaissance era if I'm not mistaken. That said, its now about how you start but how you finish in many cases then.

81 Countries have never medaled. I hope one at least steals a third place in there .

Its interresting to see that Russia and China aren't as big on hugging after failures as the U.S. and many other countries.

That said, to my knowledge, Russia seems to hug a lot more than they did in the past strangely enough.

A lot of athletes that didn't make the cut for their own country pulled the dual citizenship card just to be able to take part in the festivities. I strongly disapprove

The hosting country got their first gold at the hands of a female soldier in rowing with her fellow soldiers looking on. I guess it doesn't get too much more patriotic than that.

Haven't heard about Missy Franklin, interesting story!

I also liked the opening ceremony, the main girl in the Twitter/Internet/music segment was really really pretty!

From all of the Olympic disciplines, swimming is one of my favourite ones to watch (all styles and distances really, both men and women). Did you know that one of the gold medals was won by a 15-year old Lithuanian? I mean, I know sportsmen are young, but when I hear how old they are... oh and btw that swimmer from Lithuania was the first person from this country to win gold. It surprised me at first but then I realized it is not THAT strange, considering Lithuania's an independent country since 1991 only. And I guess this girl swimmer must be the youngest sportswomen from her country with a medal.

Another thing, I was watching table tennis match (men) on Sunday between Poland and Spain. Btw, from what I see most table tennis players are native Chinese, just playing for different nations' teams... anyway, the Spain guy won and I could see he looks older than the one from our team... I thought he might be 40 but they said he is 50 :|

Yeah, it is definitely interresting how young a lot of them are. One of the bright sides of swimming compared to say gymnastics is that even though 15 isn't too young, 20 on the other hand isn't old . Some even break their own records when they are older. Glad you like her story too and I thought Mattlovemodels was going to be the one to mention that girl in the skit . I definitely find table tennis impressive too even though some find it monotonous of course. Its fascinating how then can keep up with that ball. Did your person pick up second place then or was that for qualifying of some kind? Also, I couldn't help but notice how many women carried the flag for their country because of their fighting or shooting it seems .

Did you watch gymnastics yesterday? Oh my, Gabby was fantastic! But Komova was also good, I think she knew after the third result (I mean, after 3 things out of 4 they had to do) that it would be not so easy to win and she started crying she was also really good, but after I saw her individual programme, I knew Gabrielle would win-hers seemed more atheltic/sporty, while Viktoria's was a tiny bit more... artistic?

When I watch table tennis, I feel like they should get a bigger table

I think it was qualifications stage. Also, I need to check another one of our table tennis player, I didn't follow if she qualified further.... Natalia Partyka, she doesn't have half of her arm since she was born, and in Beijing, she played both in Olympics and Paraolympics.

Our flag was carried by Agnieszka Radwańska (tennis) but she already lost all her chances to win medals it's strange, for the first time in my life I heard about it only this year that there's some 'flag carrier at the Olympics opening ceremony' curse. I was glad she got to carry it and it surprises me she's the first woman in history of my country to do so during the Olympics. Plus, this flas carrier 'curse' sounds like b*******, I mean, Usain Bolt waved Jamaican flag and I refuse to believe he will come back home medal-less plus, the 'curse' sounds like the Oscar curse and for the last 2 years, the actresses who won (Natalie Portman, Meryl Streep) haven't broken up with their partners, but maybe I should be careful not to jinx anything yet
