Both things sound really beautiful and interesting are these the kind of books you love the most?
^I guess - although I'm always a sucker for 'rock' music biographies too. Currently reading Keith Richard's autobiography...

I forgot his name, but just thought that was kinda funny . Just a random question, are you by any chance a reader of any Manga? I heard there are some with some really good writing, but it seems there's so much I wouldn't know where to start.

^I have, but I'm no expert. Actually Jennka and Mr. Icon were discussing this very topic here (or maybe Jennka's thread) but a few months ago - so maybe they can help?

As it is I read, and enjoyed, a series called Midnight Eye...

I´ve never been into biographies much, tough I would love to read some really much... my art teacher once gave me the biography of Vincent Van Gogh written by Irving Stone - Lust for Life. Everyone who has read it keeps telling me how gorgeous that book is, however I have never started reading it kind of stupid from me... but I´m so lost for all the other books

Do the life stories fascinate you? I mean, you read it, and you know, it all really happened?

^Well, I suppose they fascinate me if I'm interested in the subject matter to begin with. But you have to have lived a life for them to be worthwhile at all. I mean, there's a trend of late to have biographies of the latest teen stars and you think what the fuck - they haven't even left home yet???

I've never read that one about Van Gogh - but artists tap a rich vein too. I've read ones about Magritte (my favourite artist), Frida Kahlo, Andy Warhol, Lautrec, Chagall. One of the best I read was about all the artists in fin-de-siecle Paris, and the birth of 'modern' art... (Y)

I'll look up that Midnight Eye and I think I saw some of a show called Kenshin if its the one that tried to stop killing people. I loved a lot of the shows, but have never read one of the actual books. I also hear that the Akira book is really good too. Thanks for the link .

Whow, you´ve read so much - how is that almost all the art icons tend to have a very interesting but also sad - and somehow depressing - kindof life? There is always some sad end to great musicians, paintors, actors... my favourite Czech and Slovak actors always die alone, in depression, or even in madhouses... the same goes for Karel Kryl (Czech musician who was participating against communism with his songs, he was a great icon back then, and still is now) who drank himself to death - or how it said when someone dies from drinking too much alcohol - soon after he was 50. So young... I think it´s because of how they see the world, that they think too much, realize things other people mostly don´t - or just can´t ignore them. They put it into songs or pictures, but the thought remains inside of them.

Oh, don´t need to tell me about these freakin biographies of teens of 20 and something WTF is exactly the word. I know that one does not have to be 50 to have something interesting to say or gone through, but what the hell, teen stars? What´s in there??? Writing about his first kiss? Why can´t they just tell it to the diary and then burn it? <_<
