^Ah yes, I forgot to add the propensity for appalling spelling and syntax! They must be ill-educated or sutin...

I bloody love Adam Buxton too, wish he was back on the radio.

donbot, I don't know how but I think we should try to get 'shit sperm' into common usage on here!

Right on

Unfortunately I'm not that familiar with much of Buxton, although he's been great in what I've seen of him - mostly bits and pieces in shows like Buzzcocks, and that one episode of The IT Crowd he did <_<

Not like a bit yours and a bit mine. Mine completely.

Don't play with my stuff play with yours

Just for the record though: what's "your" stuff, and what's "mine"? I think an inventory needs to be taken before battle-lines are drawn... fighting0087.gif

He (and his comedy partner, Joe Cornish) used to do this great Saturday morning radio show on the BBC. But before that they had a TV show in the mid 90's - they were doing that 'talking toys shtick' long before Robot Chicken:

I didn't realise he'd been on the scene that long. Actually I've heard tell of 'Adam & Joe' before.. I didn't realise it was him though

That's Dr. Average. That is at least until I get my tank with the small shark. i'll surely be ready for world domination then . I was kindof wondering too, at what point did Behati pull in the lead for you? Was it by default of some others falling backwards or was she already slightly in the lead? At least I thought Rosie was in the lead for a short interval there. It seems I've made them sound like horses there .

^"Joe" actually directed last year's Attack The Block too, if you saw it? It didn't make the cinemas of Argentina, but I've seen it since I've been in the UK.

^I'm sure they'd understand!

Umm... Well, I suppose I was already familiar with Rosie when I first joined here - while I was only just discovering Behati. I'd seen her in the Stella McCartney S/S '07 show and she really grabbed my attention , but I didn't find her name out until I joined here and then saw her again in the 2007 VSFS. True enough though, when I first became an active member (I joined in Feb '07, but didn't start posting until Nov), Rosie, Behati and Candice were all on a pretty equal level. I think it was that nobody was interested in Candice back then, and her thread was almost my own little fiefdom(!) - and similarly I found members like buhlack7 and irenistiQ were welcoming, friendly, and happy to have me posting on Behati's thread, it wasn't a competition to them. Contrast that with Rosie's thread which had the staggeringly unfriendly cutebunny121 and Ariesdior "ruling" (and in Ariesdior possibly the most unpleasant member I've come across here, PLUS a vanity that would dwarf even vanessaa's - good luck to her and horrible 'guido' boyfriend wherever their white-trash arses may now be ), so I never felt comfortable or got on there.

Then, Candice got a bit skinny and 'bobble-headed' for me - and started to attract Lima-esque "fans" - and I felt sort of surplus to requirements on her thread; and whilst Rosie remained (and remains) incredibly sexy to me and, no doubt, 'Top 10' - she doesn't have a great deal of range... With Behati though, both buhlack7 and irenistiQ faded away, and I just got more impressed with her work and found lots of editorials, catwalks and candids that had been missed since her debut as well as up-to-date work. I know people like to paint her as just the PINK "cutie" <_< - but there is so much more going on which any visitor to her thread (as opposed to just catching her VS work) would see. I just find her effortlessly charming and personable and, for whatever reason, her face (and it is an odd shape when you look at it) sings to me like no other model or 'celeb'. I appreciate she's not to everybody's taste - but then I don't subscribe to being told one is better than another - but I think she's damn near perfect and I consider it a duty to keep her thread in the best possible health it can be. It's why I get so crotchety about bad posting etiquette on there: reposts, not crediting, lacking relevant information, and just general "good manners"(!) - because I'm (stupidly, I know ) invested in it so much!

Do you have that 'fervour' for anyone/thing on here?

^ Loving the honesty in regards to fellow members

I fear i have touched upon this subject before. However my mind can't quite recollect whether this is the case or not. From what I've just read It does seem you have developed a habit of supporting models 100% and invested a lot of time and effort into them until they become popular. When this occurs you then you find another interest. You give the impression you are always a firm supporter of dare i say the underdog. I am not suggesting that Behati doesn't have the ability to accomplish or become as big as likes of Candice's and Adriana's of this world. However it has to be said that you do have to put a little more effort into finding out more about Behati work and presence in the fashion scene then any of the names just mentioned. Personally I find that quite endearing about her. As if we have unearthed a diamond in the rough. I sense you feel the same way perhaps....

Note: This is not an insinuation. Just mealy an observation

Interesting you should word it that fashion (no pun intended) - Thats exactly how i feel and see Miranda. Which only makes her more appealing to me

I had this huge post typed out about how angry I am with that High Fashion model poll.

How annoyed I am, that I nominated all these edgy high fashion models and they are all losing to mainstream girls who are boring.

buut I decided not to freak out on your thread. I think I'll just stop voting.

Baron, this question may come out of nowhere but... seeing from your posts that you traveled a lot, and changed your place of living quite a few times etc.... did it affect your friendships? I mean, is there any person you've stayed friends with for a long time, or your circle of the closest friends changes every few years?

I feel like I can't seem to stay friends with some of the people I used to be very good friends with, and I don't know if it's just bound to happen as you grow up?

^Actually, I think Miranda has a similarly interesting face. It's not "traditionally" attractive I suppose (it's got a touch of that 'Alien Baby-doll' going on) but I like it a lot. (Y) Body-wise too... To me though - I'm sorry to add - she seems insufferably boring and earnest and that puts me off. I find it hard to distance the personality from the 'package' when it comes to attraction.

Note: This is not an insinuation. Just mealy an observation

^I don't know if it's that exactly - I mean Behati is hardly a niche attraction! She might be the least popular "Angel" out there - but she's still a bloody Victoria's Secret "Angel" and you have to have certain assets to get that contract! Plus, within the hallowed halls of BZ at least, I think she's more popular than Lily or Chanel, maybe Lindsay and Erin too? Her thread certainly has a higher view rate, although she's been around slightly longer I suppose - and most of those hits are probably mine! But it's over a million now regardless.

Anyway, I don't not like Adriana because she's super-popular - I don't like her because she's a gurning old ham! And I've never been a big fan of this supposed 'exotic' thing - but then South American women aren't that exotic to a South American man. Similarly, I remain a big fan of Rosie - and last year she was topping all those crappy 'Top 100' lists - rarely have I been so in tune with the zeitgeist!

I dare say though, if Behati's thread was to suddenly become very popular it would piss me off immensely - given the "etiquette" of many of our esteemed members ; but I wouldn't stop liking her. I'd probably just lurk like I do on Rosie's thread now, and post only every now and again when I find something particularly special or new. With Candice I just kinda went off her, not completely mind, but enough to lose the impetus to post.

Nobody else bothers much with Behati's though. Post-bot-lovemusic102-000 posts a lot of new VS, but I'm not sure if she even likes her, or rather just uses some VS screenscraper to get the new pictures for all the girls - she certainly never interacts on the thread or posts anything other than those ones. When I post new VS she never says anything either. vanessaaa will post the odd twitpic too, as I presume she subscribes to various VS-related twitter accounts? Other than that it's mainly me + special guests! I do enjoy finding stuff before anywhere else, and appreciate it when I get credited, mainly though it's about making her thread here the best one! I'd like more people to pay attention to her, and see beyond that 'cute' tag... I see on tFS that it's mostly just VS stuff - and here at least there's so much more posted beyond that corner of her charms.

(Again) I don't know, it had to be someone I suppose! Ultimately, to me, she's just the best.

But I came to the conclusion the 'Babe Polls' were bad for my mental health quite a while ago - you can't argue with all those teenagers that won't rest unless the same "pretty" (read: bland) model wins everything.

^It's a weird thing - because I don't have that core 'group' of friends, given my lifestyle since I was a child. Rather though, I have very close friends scattered about - but it tends to be one-on-one (so to speak) or a couple from the same place.

Now I'm in the UK again I've been meeting up with my friends from university, but they are mostly married with kids and are all around the country. It's nice to go and spend long weekends with them though. Back home, my friends are more recent - and less intense. Working as a writer doesn't help either - but I have friends from various publications that I work for, plus I meet new people all the time on the flip-side of that argument...

Inevitably you lose a lot along the way though. I'm not likely to go to Australia again anytime soon, so they've all gone. And you just get used to having some people in your life for a short while (leaving aside romance) - you both appreciate the transience of it and accept it for what it is. I'm sure Nightlife will feel the same after his recent travels(?), life has a way of casting these roles for you when you need them.

Are you in need of new friends then princess? Age can have an affect - mainly to do with gaining partners and kids. Also, I like to live in the city - but when you have kids I think there's a general trend to move out, and then you can't just 'meet up'. Many of my friends have done this of late.

My arms are long enough eventhough I´m not that tall and not that thin... but do you know the trick with the plate? It´s something really similar... it´s just about movement.
Lol, I can do the same as Angella it´s really more a trick than a skill... but she looks great

I think so, too... You guys got me interested in this video so I finally watched it, and of course had to try it it feels like I'm thisclose to do this but I don't want to twist my wrist

You know, I've tried it myself now and my arms are indeed long enough, but my biceps are too big for me to do much ...:-p There does seem to be some sort of 'optical illusion' involved :-D

^ Glad to see that joke wasn't lost on you, I did wonder

Weather you find it fascinating or cringing, can't help but admire the creativity in my opinion. Is that ianyway in relation to Monty Python or mealy a coincidence?

I doubt it's related.

Angela does a lot of exaggerated walks, and half the time it's marvelous !!!

^I recall her walk in that show was a big talking point at the time. "Octopus" was an oft-used word...

For me, I was reeling from VS's primary school grasp of Surrealism, and the bastardisation of the works of my favourite artist. 17433.gif

And I think Noemie Lenoir was also heavily influenced by Python during that VSFS, Nightlife... :|

Wait, what are you referring to? :-D

Well yes, but its complicated in a way because I didn't really contribute to their threads as much as I wanted to for fear of my liking for them being altered by annoying fans. I also don't care for the personal lives of models because I'm already bombarded with celeb news against my will so my pic contributions have probably led more towards helping out a random thread here and there and GBD threads moreso than my favorites per se.

Well, that definitely explains it . Were Inguna or Magdalena ever close to what you felt for any of them at the height of it?
^Inguna was probably my favourite model in the immediate years prior to me joining BZ - along with Natasha Poly actually. She seemed to 'slow down' around 2008 and so I didn't have much to contribute to her thread - and then she retired after she became pregnant. She's doing a few things now again (J.Crew mainly) and remains in my affections - I did still put her in my "King For A day" all-time VS list or whatever it is you called it on that thread you made? Previous to her it was Anouck Lepere, Susan Eldridge and Devon Aoki - my affection for models stretches waaay back!

Magdalena occupies one of those lofty Ladies-In-Waiting position to the Queen, alongside erstwhile favourites Lais Navarro, and Nozomi Sasaki. I'm a big, big fan of hers - just with Behati I seem to have a passion!

^I have little interest in the personal lives of models, outside of anything that affects their career (like a pregnancy for example). Unfortunately Jamie Strachan (the boyfriend) appears in a lot of Behati editorials - it is sweet, but I don't want to see it! I prefer an anonymous male model in which to imagine it is me instead!!!
I see... as for me, I'm more in need to still be friends with some people, but when you see your efforts are not appreciated, or you see that the relationship between you and a friend is not as strong as it used to be... it just makes me wonder whether you should just give up or is there something wrong with me especially that I'm not in this stage of my life when I see 'everyone' getting married/having kids.
^I'm sorry to hear that. Personally, I find that as (maybe because) I don't see my close friends from one year to the next we then spend an intense few days together and it's really easy and like we've never been apart- and then we part again without growing complacent or bored with each other's company...

I suppose I don't have that many relationships where I see someone every day (or near enough).

I've just realised, whilst typing this, that my love-life is pretty damn similar!!!

And don't forget poor Shannan Click - oft forgotten and never loved

I get the impression that most people put her in the "one of those other blonde ones" pile. To me she's one of the most interesting models VS have though

^I was meaning more out of the contracted "Angels". I've always had the impression (based on nothing, obviously, except my own furtive imaginings mischievous_smilie.gif) that Ms. Click would make a quite wonderful companion! She has a sly grin that promises much - and she moves with little inhibition. Have you seen her pictures by Dan Martensen? I reckon there's a lot of 'Baroness' potential there... 1062-wine.gif

Haha, don't worry my darlin, you're english far exceeds most of the nation in terms of using the correct grammer

Plus you don't want to be hanging out with those kinda people. They are the kinda people who sleep with their cousins and produce kids with 7 toes and three eyes

Not to mention you feel overdressed just by smiling at them

Woooot?

no, I don´t believe you! But if I did... and if I ever be to meet such people (and not having my chainsaw anywhere near) I need to understand them so .... you need to make me a dictionary!! For the sake of my young, innocent and fully dressed life!

But I know the feeling - with years, I got more curious as to smiling on everyone like I used to

I think I know this one, Lay... I´ve been close friends to some people who now do not even bother to pick up the phone when I call them. Some of them do that because I told them what I thought of them and some of the others do that because the previous ones told them not to pick it up, lol.

What more to say... if someone is not bothered, you really should not worry about it. People come and go, and if there is no interest on their side, they´re not worth it
