Just like kittens without the side effects
^ Have you seen those (unintentionally) terrifying US medicine ads - where they list all the possible side-effects to the point of you being scared shitless to take the thing at all?! 38573061.gif

That's the 'culpability' legal game for you though, I suppose...

One of those things that I've never seen, but have seen parodied countless times

How about the totally gratuitous Scarjo bum shot (when she's sussing out Loki)? They didn't even try to disguise that!

The sussing went both ways

I think that one needs to go on - that sometimes it is nice to have another one to fill the empty space. Now I´m so grateful for having those three kittens of hers that are slowly growing up. And sometimes, the animal just happens to you and you cannot fight it there are so many of them without home.
^True. But I'm so itinerant at the moment that's impossible. That, plus the strict UK quarantine laws means I can hardly flit back between even Spain and the UK with an animal - let alone Argentina! It's hard enough for me with the drugs and firearms...

I actually thought that for a guy with drugs and firearms, nothing is impossible

^Asterix books were one of the first things I read in english when I came to the UK. Of course I didn't really get all the jokes back then - although I've always been a tad precocious! As I got older I came to appreciate then even more. But the X-Men are my main comic squeeze.

I need to check that out . As to the X-Men though, I'm definitely a fan overall even though I find some of the 90s to now storylines confusing. I must admit though, that I was also partially prejudiced because I always say the whole Pheonix angle to be synonymous with the downfall of the cartoon and film series but I didn't mind the comic version from what I saw.

Ah yes, I know exactly the bit, and I don't mind admitting that at that point I very momentarily forgot to watch Loki (whose character I think finally answers the question 'what if Pete Campbell from Mad Men got superpowers?') delivering his lines.

^The initial 'Dark Phoenix Saga' (from 1980) was as a brilliant story-arc in the X-Men as has ever been. I got it as a trade paperback years ago, already knowing the basic story (and it's outcome) from it's many references within the latter comics. Jean Grey reappeared not long after I first started reading comics, and I remember it being pretty momentous/contentious amongst readers - so I was always intrigued as to what befell her...

Yes, other media versions haven't been as successful - but then they can't really, as you're competing in a radically reduced environment for 'storytelling'. But I highly recommend it - when Scott realises who the antagonist is and how Jean's been manipulated (and how dangerous that could be - which, of course, is pretty quickly realised) it's simply brilliant. The story then jumps from a 'domestic' issue to something intergalactic, but all so seamlessly that it never feels contrived or jarring.

(whose character I think finally answers the question 'what if Pete Campbell from Mad Men got superpowers?')
^This and 'Martin Rohde' being George Galloway! Michael*, you're on a roll!

Speaking of Mr Rohde/Galloway, Baron, are you all set for The Bridge's big finale this Saturday (assuming of course, that like me, you've been following the proceedings on BBC4)?

^I'm one behind at the moment - but I'm sure that will be remedied before Saturday. Thoroughly enjoyed it, and Rohde/Noren are a masterclass in comedy duos!

That sounds good and great job of describing it . As a side note though, I was playing a little soccer and doing pretty well, but was kicked out for randomly stopping a sure goal with my hands after our goalie fell down . I'm not sure what came over me . We were destroyed anyway, but it was good exercise as always and all in good fun of course.

I'm just testing here - currently can't tell my arse from my elbow. Is my avatar no longer separate from my 'personal photo'? And can't we comment any more either? < Well, that's still there - that's something!

Uh, reckon a headache is coming on. But, es lo que hay, time moves on.

Now to hear all the people who clamoured for change moan about it!!! :|

Still testing - 'attachments' this time (seems the safest place for me to do it)... I didn't "clamour for change" but I sure am going to moan about it!

I don't even know how to reply to messages now without making a new one?!?! B, i wanted to reply to your message, yesterday BZ didn't work for me as well as this morning (so it's weird to me to see people complaining about all yesterday's posts gone, as i thought the site didn't work for everyone ) and it looked like I didn't get it yet when I clicked my message box the PM was there but I didn't get a notification about the new message!?!?

Yeah, I had an unopened message from Jennka this morning - but I've been out all day and didn't get to come on BZ and open it. It's gone now... Who know what she might have told me?!! :|

I saw that the banner yesterday was warning about the forum change, so I didn't post anything new. This sure is going to take some time to adjust though. I see I've lost my avatar. I'm also uncertain over my gender suddenly too. I can't get rid of the second field. :| Also the attachments are crazy slow, and I can see me not bothering with that anymore. I've just PM'd you as a test too - so let me know if you've got it...

I got it, yeah, but still... and what is with this 'like' button? Does it already make you post the link to the comment you like on facebook!?!? :| and what if... eh, nevermind.

You're right about the pm function- it seems to be broken. There are pms missing (since may 18), and ancient and deleted pms scattered around. All the old emoticons are now waxed, lol.

I´ve already written Dave that I´m mad and perplexed and everything around here seems to be crazy but he told me that once I get to use it I´ll love it so I trust him.

But hell, beginnings are always so hard I´ve lost everything I wrote yesterday! All pms

I´ll write you new one B

^Yes. Ugly, isn't it? 1062-wine.gif

I'd say this whole new thing looks rather clinical at the moment...

But there's this to brighten it up! You can quote emoticons now!!!

Bright White they could make it "blonde". Because that is obviously the sexiest colour of 2011!
