Yeah, we only won the four medals, with one gold (in taekwondo) - but it's the taking part no?!

^They were three distinct locales (the Lynchian, the "dive", and any bar with Ms. Levi's!), but all enjoyable in their own way. I went to a Native American bar in New Mexico which was particularly hair-raising - it had grills like a bank between the staff and patrons, and they'd pass through cans in drawers underneath! Some guy wearing a black feathered head-dress informed me he got his women by hitting them over the head with his big stick, which he then rapped on the bar as if to prove it's power! Ah, good times...

There was so much whinging in the media over here about our lack of gold success, particularly from the disappointments of our swimming campaign. Funny though, our medal tally in the end was about as projected - it's just most of them were silver.

Anna Meares's gold in the individual sprint was the highlight of the Games for me. I always love watching the track cycling :Dinah:

^Talking of which... Yes, I heard a lot about the Aussies moaning (and implying that the Poms were cheating somehow?), and that the swimming in particular was a big let down. I guess you guys just always want to beat the Brits, especially on their own turf. I thought Victoria Pendleton was harshly treated in that Individual Sprint actually - but Meares seemed a popular winner nonetheless.

That is really strange, Argentina is such a big country and it only got 4 medals? we got 10, same as in Beijing but the media are still b****ing about it, or trying to look for a method to solve this problem, aka when will we get more or when sportsmen will finally get more money.

^Well we're only 40 million, not much more than you - but I agree we should be doing better. My theory is we cast our net too wide. You see much smaller countries winning more, but that's because they specialise - i.e all these weightlifters from the former Soviet countries, or Jamaican sprinting. Everybody wants to be a footballer though...

oy, Baron, what do you think of Jessica Hart's presence in VS Pink? She's often teamed up with Elsa...

What's the Swedish attitude towards clothing?

Elsa has a really, really flawless and doll-like complexion.

As I'm sure you know, I've always been fairly ambivalent about Elsa Hosk - maybe stemming from her usurping of Behati for the PINK line (Fun Fact: She's actually older than Behati!). I've had to temper the fact that she has a wonderful arse, pixie features, and a winningly Swedish attitude to clothing - to the retardation she displays in motion, and especially in interviews...

However I've just watched this (more than once ) and I'm officially won over:

Lordy!

^More like that one, yes - but deeper and more guttural! It often sounded like "hello"!

You're pretty good at basketball too although obviously not as good as America or Spain, which is why that guy punched one of ours in the nuts I guess. I did think you guys specialized in horseback polo though . At least I've seen guys from down there do as much as put their finger through rings at full speed on horseback and such. I know water polo was there although I didn't see the horse one. Of course, I didn't have time to catch everything I wanted to and am not even sure what all was there and what wasn't .

^No, there's no Polo at the events - but, yes, if there were then I'm sure we'd win a medal!

As for Basketball - it's taken off big time this last decade or so. And we have a reputation in all sports at playing "dirty". Viveza criolla, it's the national way...

Let me in on it .

^What's all this hugging in aid of? :baronlamesign:

^It's very fresh and pixie-like. Coupled with a quite wonderful figure...

And the "Swedish attitude" is optional!!! They have no problems with disrobing at any given occasion, and have comfort in nudity. It took me a while to get used to it, and that when one does it in front of you it's not necessarily a come-on. But Elsa can do it all she wants.

As for Jessica Hart - she's OK. Not really for me, but she's nice. PINK is a strange beast, I only really took a lot of attention to it as it was a steady gig for Behati. In and of itself I'm not a fan of the aesthetic. It's only when they sometimes look 'outside the box' (which is true of VS in general) that anything interesting comes of the photography. I used to quite like the behind-the-scenes shots, often by Ben Watts.

Okay, so this is what I have:

Elsa Hosk (Nudity warning)

http://postimage.org...iu1k8/12b2a3cc/

lol, that's interesting. I mean, the nudity thing.

Elsa is really an Angel in the classic view of the word. More so, I believe, than any of the VS 'Angels'...I found it preposterous that they didn't give her wings during the VS fashion show. Instead, they gave her a disturbing medley of 'pink-wear' :-(

As far as complexion goes, the best out of the best trophy would go to Elsa and Anna S.

---

I like the ben watts pictures too. And Jessica Hart as well. But I wouldn't say that they're in my top tier of favorite models because they come across more as 'niche'.

Jessica Hart works sporadically, and is more of a society woman than a committed model. I discovered her in SI. Her sudden appearance in 'pink'- after a long hiatus.. kind of surprised me. But after seeing her around a bit, I'd say that she fits their agenda

LOL @ the sign . What's funny is he apologized to Kobe even though he punched someone else . Are you guys known for playing dirty in soccer too? I've only really paid attention to the beer bellied fellow you showed me and Messi and didn't see it from them although I wouldn't expect them to have time too with their skills and its usually the supporting players that are the most physical in non contact sports it seems .

^All the PINK girls suffered that. :yuckky: Elsa was one who suffered the least, did you see Lindsay's and Karlie's (and they closed the show with that disco-fart monstrosity)?!

Plus, at least she got cast after all that work for them. Lament poor Marloes... Still, as Elsa is pretty much the poster-girl for the brand now, she should be getting more love this time around (although this is VS, one never knows... ).

^Funny you should mention the "beer bellied fellow" ( ) as he's probably responsible for the most controversial dirty move in footballing history! But, yes, you're right - one expects players of this calibre to be immune from such behaviour.

England and Argentina have long had a footballing rivalry (stemming from an occasion in the '66 World Cup where an Argentino player had a hissy fit after a game, and the then England manager rather foolishly branded the team - and by proxy the nation - 'animals' ); but in the '86 World Cup the two countries were only just 4 years after the war over Las Malvinas and tension remained high. They were drawn in the Quarter-Finals - and at 0-0, this happened:

diego-maradona-hand-of-god1.jpg

After the game Maradona said the goal was "a little with the head of Maradona and a little with the hand of God" (he often talks himself up in the third person! ) and in doing so implied that it was some sort of retribution for losing the war and therefore that 'God' was on Argentina's side.

A few minutes later he scored an absolute fucking blinder of a goal entirely on his own though (minus both team-mates and divine beings! ) thus almost rendering the point moot. Unfortunately England did pull one back, so that became a winning goal as it was counted - and so the debate rumbled on about 'What Ifs", and still does - which can be problematic for somebosy with dual-nationality like me...
