Update: The woman got a fractured skull and a broken arm. The cashier was an ex-con who was charged with manslaughter and was released in March. Fucked up shit right there.

In light of the lockout of the NBA, my favorite sport (to watch), I figured I'd give a shoutout to some underrated ones.

My Most Underrated Sports

10. Bossaball - like vollyball, but with an added dimension. Actually, I like Malaysian kickball just the same, but since I didn't know if it was local only, I didn't include it.

post-17304-1318679868_thumb.jpg

9. Canoeing - just relaxing and great to see them on one accord to reach the same goal

post-17304-1318680217_thumb.jpg

8. White Water Rafting - the more adventurous and exciting version of canoeing

post-17304-1318679932_thumb.jpg

7. Underwater Hockey - the test of underwater skill is always a delight

post-17304-1318679879_thumb.jpg

6. Fencing - I'll admit its not my first or even second and so on choice of favorite sword fighting styles. Even in its own time it was a street wepon rather than weapon of war. They could also spice it up as a sport somehow, though somewhat underrated in its significance in our gun run world though it does have some popularity

post-17304-1318680207_thumb.jpg

5. Unicycle Hockey - the unicycle is underrated itself so adding hockey to it adds to that

post-17304-1318679921_thumb.jpg

4. Rock Climbing - the test of will and courage while looking back at the wonders of nature is one of my favorite sports in general

post-17304-1318679907_thumb.jpg

3. Paintball - one of the most fun things to do in the world for sure

post-17304-1318679887_thumb.jpg

2. Rhythmic Gymnastics - these girl's level of skill and grace is truly remarkable

post-17304-1318679898_thumb.jpg

1. Modern Pentathalon - you have to fence, run, swim, jump and shoot. What's not to like? Apparently a lot since its not that popular. Either way, its great fun to see.

The "look" of class from the socioeconomic side varies from place to place and culture to culture which is probably why my and Pretty's perspectives are so different from you two on that end. Of course, that's a lesser point as I don't care how much money people have or how much they look like they have. Even aside from the fact that I like glamour models, SI is basically glamour modeling, most top fashion models have done glamour modeling and many would do it full time if they were just a few inches shorter, not to mention some Gravure models have a wide range of talents outside os modeling, the only class that matters to me is a person's character and I haven't seen evidence of high fashion models being better or having more character than people in any other occupation .

Joe, hun, this isn´t about what matters to you and what is a class to you - or me - or anyone. I, too, value the character in real life the most, you know that. What I was trying to explain was, that high fashion models mostly look like a high class ladies living in a wealthy environment... that they, in some way, represent this kind of picture and that might be one reason why men in general aren´t very fond of them... the other is mostly zero fashion interest and knowledge about what models really do look like.

My fl knows nothing about fashion and I´m glad for that, and when I show him some models, sometimes he is surprised ("I thought models were only thin sticks") and pleased of the look of them, but he would take Alessandra over Gisele any day... and he is more likely to get the looks of Izabel Goulart or Marisa Miller than Gemma Ward, e.g.... but, he loves butt about a woman the most, so However, he did like most of the models I showed him.

7. Underwater Hockey

5. Unicycle Hockey

I already thought hockey was leading the race in the number of variations a sport has, without even knowing about these. Why stop there though.. we could have a slamball style hockey with trampolines. Or some sort of vertical rock climbing hockey <_<

Can I add elephant soccer to the list?

Yeah, Jennks, they're so poorly known to most of the world (especially men) that's its impossible to even gave a consensus. I would bet a lot of men would like Phillipine women for example, but they're such a minority in most of the world along with few being international household names, I don't have anything to base that one. I'd be willing to bet that Malores is only an SI appearanc away from being a commercial star, but again, just a theory (though probably true). Of course, as to the money look, the title of high fashion is to wear the world's most expensive clothes, fragrances ect. of course (which is the true meaning of 'high' fashion and was before the current trends and will be after), so that makes sense in that way .

I've never heard of Elephant soccer . It does deserve a mention though . There are some interresting ones in Finland too I think such as wife carrying ect.

Yeah, I agree of course with Julia's face of course and though I never thought of Cintia as an amazing beauty, her voice, hair, runway presence and intangible kindof charm make her cute to me somehow. I didn't expect Lara to be the type to wear makeup on her own time in any case .

Wait, why do you think that about Lara? I haven't seen this side of her yet :-p

I know exactly what you mean. It´s not about where they come from, it´s about how they LOOK. I´ve recently read this book from Freud (not really his book, it was written by a young girl and used by Freud and his students in their psychology lessons) called A Young Girl´s Diary, it´s a real diary of a 11 to 14 year old girl from the upper (and rather high) class in Germany before the first world war. You could clearly sense all this "noble" people, their life, even when reading a diary of such a young girl. Most of these high fashion models just give me this kind of aristocracy feeling, with their bone structure, their style, their tall, skinny bodies I would never call a glamour model "a class"

Was she a Junker? There is an 'American aristocracy' too- that's mostly invisible to mainstream media. Ghosts of the past!

The whole 'selection' thing is even worse with brahmin Indians and people from the middle east. They can be much 'lighter' in skin tone (sometimes with green eyes) than the rest of the population.

I think that a lot of glamour models are just above-average women with thick makeup, huge implants, and bodies toned by cardio and weight lifting machines..(ie. buttocks). The implants can be ill executed...

Lot of glamour models, yes, but not all, apparently... still, I can´t say, for I´ve never really been much interested in this kind of area

Wait, why do you think that about Lara? I haven't seen this side of her yet :-p

I meant, I would expect her to go for an all natural type look in regular life. I haven't seen her with clothes in candids though, so there wasn't much to base that idea on of course.

Also, you'd be surprised how many fashion models have implants. Theirs are usually either more well done or upgraded from A to B, but the indicator in American, Brazilian and European jobs seems to be hardness (that's not relative to the tone of the rest of their body) rather than size. Size just gets more publicity. A lot of the Japanese ones I wouldn't be able to tell though. Of course, keeping yourself forty pounds under your natural weight is no more natural than implants in a way, but all models seem to make sacrifices to do what they think will make them fit the bill for their trade I guess. Glamour modeling is leading the way in photoshop too for sure, even though its becoming more prevalent in all photoshoots every year.

All that said, my least favorite boobs on the face of the earth are the current Playboy models as they are so thoroughly rock hard. I've never felt any like that, but its hard to imagine it being different from a manican in the store . Of course I'm not fond of the grown women with twelve year old giggling, fake bleach blonde hair and layers on layers of makeup either.

Yeah, didn't Jessica Stam get her done recently? And Erin H and Lindsay? Maybe sb can sorta confirm these 'news'

I hadn't heard about those , since I haven't seen Stam in awhile and haven't cared for Erin and Lindsay's work since they joined VS for the most part. I guess that I hadn't is case in point I guess . Though I won't stop anyone else from it, I'm not going to (on the general forum) name or confirm names though to avoid any offending on that end. As a side not though, I must say that I'm not morally oposed to breast implants at all. As a lover of all proportional sizes though (small to huge), I don't personally see the need for them though. Even with the current Playboy ones as gross and uncomfortable as they look to me, maybe they'll stop a bullet for them or something, who knows. I just had to point out the regular sized implants since the big ones seem a popular target. Maybe its the same as whenever I hear someone say dumb blonde I name smart ones and dumb brunettes and reds or when they say dumb athletes the same. Then again, maybe they're seen as easy targets because the knowledge that they're so popular (in this example big boobs, athletes, blondes though can be hundreds of things) is part of what makes them an easy target I guess (somewhat like the 'I don't feel sorry for you, you're rich' idea). Well, blondes may have gotten the short end of the stick on that one since athletes and those that can affort implants may have some money at least. It could just be I was a lawyer in another life and like taking up for people maybe .

^Actually, it's very prevalent in the Korean modelling circuit - well, the expo and Race Queen girls. In Japanese 'gravure' modelling there is certainly a lot of cosmetic surgery going on, but it's more to do with aping western standards in terms of (sadly) eye shape and hairlines. A lot of models, and the nation in general, are (relatively) flat-chested - so girls like Yuuri Morishita and Anri Sugihara certainly stand out!

Well yeah, of course I can tell if you mean all things considered as in likely fake by default of Asian women not being that busty in general and yeah, implants are definitely the least of their problems on the self image end with the skin bleaching obsessions and all that stuff. I was moreso talking about the quality of the surgery itself in that they don't appear to be nearly as leathery and rock hard as many others. With that, hypothetically if even 1% were natural, I wouldn't too much be able to tell the difference between fake ones of the same size.

Of course, like I said, I'm not morally oposed to it, so I don't really care if they're not rock hard to be honest .

I would try to change the subject again (like with the underrated sports ), but maybe what this needs is a final thought of some kind.

Final Thought

I like glamour models. Glamour modeling is a very wide and diverse genre, that far exceeds the stereotypes its usually reduced to on fashion forums somewhat like fashion has more than what its stereotyped for. I don't like every genre or everything about them just like I don't like everything about fashion. Actually I hate quite a bit about both glamour and fashion modeling. Models of many fields alter themselves in some way to meet the standards of their genre because its a business at the end of the day I guess. For some its implants, for others botox and others an unhealthy diet or maintaining a weight that's much smaller than their natural size. Some rise above the norm for their trade and are content to just be themselves and find a way succeed anyway. These are usually the types that it takes to make new trends opposed to being followers only. At the end of the day, they all better watch out because actresses and singers are doing more and more modeling and getting hotter by the day. The End.

What else to add I prefer natural beauty, but actually I have no idea which model is natural and which is not, so... I just think that people should be the way the are... and not try to be someone else. Plastic surgery is great when someone is injured by a fire or something like that, plastic surgery is indeed great in many things - those are just people that misuse it for silly things (and docs get the biggest money from this business, of course).
